Summary: Dora, a cynical former teacher, works writing letters for illiterates in Central Station in Rio. When a client dies, Dora decides to sell the woman's 10-year-old son to the black market. Then she finds out that the boy may be killed for his organs, so she steals him back. Together they set off to find his father, whom he has never met.
