I liked the movie. In the first phase of the MCU, when they were mostly weak or did not use their potential properly, this one was satisfactory for me. Among the other works of 2011, it appeared more successful.
The movie is based on Origin. It means that Origin shows Captain America well and gives a reason why a humble man should wear tight clothes and go to the battlefield.
I can boldly say that it goes even beyond the expectations and the comic version of Captain America. That is, we are witnessing a more sympathetic Steve Rogers than the comic.
Although the movie has some weaknesses. I know that the movie is rated PG13, but for some age groups it might seem boring. What James Gunn managed to do is to make the whole family watch the movie. I also like the special effects. It did not come.
Other than that, secondary characters such as Peggy Carter or Arnim Zola and... they were all great. The chemistry of the two main characters was amazing. The villain was wonderful. Attractive games and... did I forget something?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

The head of the programme is unconvinced that Rogers is the right person for the procedure, but Rogers actions in the heat of battle soon change his mind.

The origin story for a character that subsequently went on to become one of the most popular in modern cinema, The First Avenger hits all the usual Marvel beats and makes the most of Chris Evan’s effortless charm. The final ten minutes arguably focuses too much on setting up subsequent movies, but that is a minor criticism of what is otherwise a pretty good summer blockbuster.

His experience with classic period-piece action/adventure films pays off in spades with this very Indiana Jones-like superhero film set during World War II. Is it perfect? No. Entertaining? Yes, I think so. It is a very well made and efficiently directed film, with wonderful costumes, effects and settings and the cinematography and editing also impress. The music is rousing, and I just love Star Spangled Man, one of Alan Menken's best songs in my opinion. The script is witty and smart. Cheesy also? Perhaps but in an endearing sort of way. The story has a strong start, but loses its way to sluggish pacing and clichés in the final act. The characters are clichéd too in a sense but like the actors are engaging. Chris Evans is perfect in the title role, and he is joined by sassy Hayley Atwell and a wonderfully gruff Tommy Lee Jones. Hugo Weaving wasn't quite there for me, he is a great actor and he is charismatic and menacing, but his accent is inconsistent and the character could have been delved into more. Overall though, a lot of fun. 8/10 Bethany Cox Expand

But upon rewatching it the movie has aged pretty good as it is a movie that has been made better and more relevant with the release of movies such as The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame. The first 75 minutes of the movie are fantastic as Chris Evans did a great job as Captain America but it does a great job really developing Steve Rogers as a character. And the ending where he was like "I had a date" was fantastic and is one of the best endings in the MCU. It was sad and very emotional. The fight scenes in this movie are not great but are still pretty good and fun to watch. Now red Skull was kind of a meh villain Hugo Weaving did do a great job but the Red Skull was just ok. And when Steve sacrificed himself at the end It was very powerful and again was made better in Endgame. Captain America is one of my favorite Marvel heroes and I really enjoyed this movie. Expand

I was amazed how well the charactersThe first Captain America movie is a blueprint how to do an introduction movie for a superhero. They put a lot of effort into the characters, their development and interactions atop of great action scenes. I was amazed how well the characters work and feel natural. Everyone can identify with Steve Rogers who has the hearth and soul of a true hero but is physically not strong enough to make a difference or be even drafted into the army in World War 2. We all have the same spirit in us in wanting to create a better world and fighting for the values we believe in but can often even make a small change in the world. Captain America or better said Steve Rogers is a paragon of all what we want to be but also a human character not that larger than we could be. He still is not perfect and struggles but at the end of the day he endures it and stands up for what is right even when he would be alone. It is no wonder why he is the leader of the Avengers in the comics even when he his much outclassed in terms of strength or super human abilities. He is the hearth and soul of the team and the moral compass. Because of this he is respected and no one questions his leadership or capability (He is also a capable fighter, a clever and experienced leader by the way but this was not the point here). Back to the movie: The story itself tells how the fragile and weak bodied Steve Rogers became Captain America the first superhero and a legend. Like I already said everything is believable, enjoyable and immersive. You see the struggles, emotions and motives of the characters. I would say it is a fine example of the “Show not tell” rule for movies. The hardest battles Steve has to fight are not against the Nazis and hose are hard too. He has to prove himself against the odds, expectations and prejudice. Even as Captain America the struggles continue. Of cause there is good action too, a truly evil antagonist and dangerous schemes. These add to the enjoyment of the movie. The characters are the greatest asset of the movie. The Marvel cinematic universe performed incredibly well with their superheros. They gave us actors that became the definite incarnations for their characters where each new incarnation will be compared to. Believe it or not Chris Evans was doubted back then as he was the Human Torch in the two Fantastic 4 movies and fans feared he was not up to the task. Today this is unbelievable as he simply is Captain America. There is no valid criticism for his performance and he fully delivers. As a sidenote the MCU redemed also a second human torch actor with Michael B. Jordan. Then we have Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter who is equally good and the hidden star of the movie. Today's movies fail to show what a strong female character is and feature blank and uninteresting Mary Sue types. She is truly excellent as character and role model. Now we have the excellent Colonel Chester Philips played by Tommy Lee Jones. He is the archetype of the grumpy hard as iron officer. He is so natural and believable that you think he was that character his whole life. For the rest we got a good Hugo Weaving as Johann Schmidt who is not well enough flashed out but works, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark who delivers and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barns who can shine in his shorter screentime. Special praise for Stanley Tucci who probably delivers the best performance and Toby Jones who is a truly ambivalent character. In general we have an awesome cast that enhance the movie and work well. As per MCU standards the visuals and special effects are top notch. You do not doubt anything and this is always a plus in fantasy, science fiction and superhero movies. The soundtrack is also really good and this too is never an issue in the MCU. Overall this was remarkably well done and cemented the success of phase 1. It is still good and worth watching as are all the other Captain America movies too. Expand

The action, dialogue and story are all solid and the visuals in the film are a breath of fresh air from previous ones in the MCU. Chris Evans does a great job portraying the morally righteous yet somewhat awkward supersoldier, and the supporting cast members give solid performances as well. The movie avoids the trap of squandering some of its A-list actors, such as Hugo Weaving and Tommy Lee Jones, and sets some others on the path to the A-list, namely Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan. First Avenger does a nice job of setting up future MCU films without getting too focused on that and spends a good amount of time allowing us to get to know who Steve Rogers is. Nick Fury’s cameo at the end to set up Cap’s appearance in the Avengers movies is well placed and nicely begins Rogers’ arc as an Avenger. My only real complaint is why Nick Fury had two cameos in this movie: one at the end and one as the mid/post-credits scene. Having him appear at the end just once is more than enough to set him up for the Avengers movies and the credits scene creates redundancy with the Avengers. Overall, while it doesn’t quite hit the bar set by Iron Man, First Avenger is a solid origin story and entry in the MCU. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I had begun watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I was waiting for the movie in which Captain America shows up. For some reason I really liked Captain America back then, because of how his weapon is just a shield; no sword, no bows and arrows, no hammer. It showed how he believes his arms are the equivalent of the said weapons. This logic could have made sense if he was as strong as, say, Wonder Woman (and yet she uses a sword). But he's just as strong as a strong man, and yet he has this confidence. And that's what made him special for me. I had literally no idea what I was going to expect in this movie. I watched it with a complete blank slate. I didn't even know Captain America's real name is Steven Rogers. That's how less I knew of him. I just admired him because, well, I've already said it.

The setting of the movie is during the time of World War II. Steven Rogers was just a lanky man back then who was very determined and patriotic. He gets beaten up in an alley by an anti-national and saved by a military man, but even when he is getting beaten he does not give up. He is taken in the army and allowed to train like the rest for the World War. But seeing him jump on the grenade to save everyone, they realise something must be done for him. And so they give him the super soldier serum, thus making him Captain America.

Earlier used as a prop to cheer the US Army during the war, Captain America is soon sent on multiple missions where he and his best friend Bucky Barnes fight the Nazis. Bucky faces a sad demise, and soon the enemy commander is revealed to be the infamous Red Skull. Captain America and Red Skull fight, Captain beats Red Skull but soon after faces a plane crash. He is revived years later before the events of The Avengers can take place.

There are a lot of things I like about this movie. First of all, the idea of a superhero like Captain America. Like I mentioned earlier, I really liked the idea that the hero has no equipment other than a shield. So seeing the hero fight in close combat while all his enemies have powerful guns is very interesting. The reveal of Red Skull was also a huge moment, and so was his apparent death, which was rewarding in Avengers: Infinity War. The cinematography also looked really amazing, and the message that this movie gives is also very positive. Overall this movie is really fun and wholesome to look at.

But there are a lot of things I didn't like about it as well. First of all the audio. Most of the times it was hard to hear the dialogues. The whole time the scientist guy was speaking I was like, "What? Huh? He is a what? What are you saying about Nazis?" Same goes for the interrogation scene of that vegetarian scientist. What was his name again? Oh wait, I remember. I COULDN'T HEAR IT! The second problem, like literally every other MCU movie, is the unbelievable action scenes. There is no way I can believe that Captain America sneaked inside one truck, beat up all the bad guys, then hit the guard with his shield while all the other guards have their backs towards him and walk out silently with his glow-in-the-dark shield and no one notices him. And the jump cuts during the action scenes, dude, it's so hard to make out what's going on because of the continuous camera angle change.

The post credit scene felt like sequel baiting, and it was unnecessary since that very same scene was also shown in The Avengers. They should have kept it in either one of the two movies. But other than that I enjoyed the movie. Unlike most Marvel Cinematic Universe movies where I find the movies to be a one-time watch, I won't mind seeing this one all over again. It is really a mindless, wholesome, fun to watch family movie.

A few years ago, superhero or comic book films were the worst imaginable. That changed with Marvel films and the quality CGI show the studio has been able to offer to fans of its superheroes.

This film tells the story of Steve Rogers, an aspiring soldier: he was eager to fight in World War II, but his short stature and physical weakness prevented him from enlisting. When he finally succeeded, he found himself participating in a special military program to create "super soldiers". Thus, Captain America was born. And his first mission could not be more demanding: to face the sinister Hydra, a secret SS branch specialized in the occult and the research of super weapons.

I confess that I never felt any empathy for the figure of Captain America. For me, even as a cartoon character, it is a piece of propaganda. And although this opinion has not changed with this film, I liked what I saw: in addition to being a visual spectacle, the film has a clear script, a well-structured story, well-built characters and the historical consultancy worked very well, allowing the film to be satisfactorily accurate in recreating the period. Joe Johnston, the director, is worthy of our praise.

The cast is full of familiar faces and does a pretty good job. Chris Evans is a good protagonist, and he seemed very committed to the character. Hayley Atwell also did well, and gave the film a feminine touch, a pleasant presence and good lines. The chemistry she built with Evans seemed convincing enough. Hugo Weaving is a threatening villain and has given his character a certain amount of raw and gratuitous cruelty and unpredictability. At first, Tommy Lee Jones seemed aged to me, limited himself on recycling the attitude and lines he used in "MIB" movies, but I think he ended up fitting the big picture, even though it is not a very good job. Sebastian Stan is competent, but I felt that he had little screen time and his character was unimportant to the plot. Although not as relevant to the story, Toby Jones had more presence than him, and that was something that Jones knew how to take advantage of, giving the audience a job well done.

Technically, it is an impeccable film, worthy of the millionaire budget it had. Cinematography is enviable: the colors are just right, the play of light, shadow, contrast and movement was well accomplished and the footage is clear and sharp, even in the most intense and fast scenes. As I have already mentioned, the effort to recreate history was very successful, so the uniforms, costumes, weapons, vehicles, props and sets were exquisitely executed. The special, visual and CGI effects are great, and they do things that seem impossible, like Chris Evans’s apparent reduction in height and muscle mass. The soundtrack also seemed quite adequate, although it is not memorable.

'Captain America: The First Avenger' is thoroughly entertaining. I absolutely enjoyed the story and how it is told, while the 1940s style is done fantastically - love the settings and costumes. The only negative I have is about the body double effect of skinny Captain America - which looks, honestly, ridiculous... in an amusing way, at least.

This is, possibly, the most I've enjoyed the overall cast for an MCU film so far. Chris Evans is fun to watch in the lead role, he does a grand job. Behind him, the likes of Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell and Hugo Weaving are enjoyable too.

In my opinion, after seeing all of the Captain America, this one is my favorite. Has great action and his costume is the best it will ever be in this one.

Gotta say, I'm glad the Russo Brothers took over for the sequels. But this one was well done. A fitting introduction to the first avenger. Chris Evans was clearly born to be the American hero. Props to the cast and crew!

What could have been a by-the-numbers origin story (and in some respects, it is) is instead a highly entertaining war adventure film with a big heart.
It's probably the MCU's most underrated movie.

The cinematography and production design are a lot better than I remembered. The shot of the Hydra aircraft sinking in the ice is gorgeous, and I really don't know how I never noticed it before.

From the moving scenes between Steve and Dr. Erskein, to its loving lampooning of the character's origin as a pulpy piece of propaganda (that song rules by the way), the movie's just a blast to watch and it makes me smile every time.

It's very wholesome for a film that has the goriest death in the whole franchise.

The First Avenger is a decent superhero flick, with plenty of action, solid special effects, pleasant characters, and a decent but bland story. Similar to RDJ, Chris Evans wasa the perfect choice for Captain America from the beginning.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is Captain America we love to like. This movie is the most emotional and decent of the Marvel movies, after Black Panther of course. I liked the bad guys better (Hugo Weaving and Richard Armitage who both played in The Hobbit trilogy).. Chris Evans is a very good actor and l think he does a very good job portraying Captain. Also, l liked the action scenes and the whole cast. All in all, great movie. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You got Chris Evans and Haley Atwell with charm that exceeds most of the faults of the actual movie, and also surpasses the problems of the weak use of the main antagonist. I am glad that the story of Cap gets better and better with the movies

The movie has a moment towards the end, that really sells the whole movie, and makes it profoundly tragic. Spoiler: Cap gets frozen in ice for more than half a century. He has found love, and has to let it go for the good of the country and the whole world. It is so well made, and so emotional and becomes a big point in the movies to come, so basically everything else that is made poorly in the movie doesn't matter. There are movies that are okay, are great, but do not have an emotional connection to the viewer, and you just have to go through it and think "yeah okay, it was produced well, they performed well". This movie makes the connection, and that is more important than anything.

Considering how many characters there are in the film series, this along with Thor is one of the weaker entries. However despite it's pacing flaws and odd narrative choices (and wasted of red skull) the heart is there. The core of a weak person wanting to serve his will to fight evil and protect others is there. THIS is what I watch a super hero film to see!

PLOT

Steve Rogers, a scrawny young man, wants to enlist in the US Army and go overseas to fight in WWII. But his size and health means his attempts at enlistment always end the same way -- a 4F rating. Until a scientist sees him and recruits him to try out for a special training program to create a super soldier.

WHAT I LIKED

The Marvel universe sticks pretty close to classic script with him being given a serum that jacks his body into super muscle mode. He's already brave and smart, so it would seem like a no-brainer to send him overseas? But the guy in charge of his training doesn't want him, he's just one man, so Rogers ends up doing public relations back home. And he is quite shocked that the men overseas don't react as positively when they see him as the crowds back home. I really enjoyed the way they handle the first battle scene for him, basically him figuring things out as he goes, a far cry from his battle-hardened approaches later.

I even liked his interactions with Agent Carter. I had thought it would be more subtle than it was, and I hoped we'd see a bit more of her operating on her own (after all, they gave her character a whole series on TV!), but she was second fiddle to the hero.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE

The challenge with a lot of American movies of the war is that it is as if they are the only actors in the war, no allies, just them, and that level of nationalistic narrowmindedness is a bit grating. That may be a small gripe when the show is called CAPTAIN AMERICA, not CAPTAIN OF WORKING WITH ALLIES, but still, it's annoying. I also was disappointed there wasn't a lot more on Red Skull. His history, his abilities, other pursuits, all of it was left basically unreferenced. Sure, some of it shows up elsewhere in the Marvel universe, but a bit more crosswalk would have been nice. I felt he really wasn't that well-fleshed out as the uber villain he could have been.

THE BOTTOM LINE / TWEET

As an origin story, it lacks pizazz

Here is a superhero with not just super strength but also qualities such as morality, loyalty and leadership. In this movie Captain America turns from an instrument of american propaganda (like in the original WW2-era comics) into a real hero, fighting those who want to enslave humanity. The plot slowly builds up a poor young man's story trying to make a difference, but loses its momentum in the middle with the whole dancing show where Captain America is reduced to a costumed clown. But when Steve Rogers finally goes into his first battle, that's when the movie really kicks off, with the Allied Forces slowly and steadily defeating the paranoid HYDRA. The end is heartwrenching, with Rogers sacrificing himself, falling into a coma and awakening into a different world in the 21st century, having lost everybody he knew from the 1940s. He ultimately joins SHIELD and the Avengers. This movie features most of Captain America's life story, and the director handled this almost perfectly. Expand

This film is very important in Marvel lore and its a character study filled with fun action movie stuff. Steve Rogers motives really feel true and Chris Evans makes him such an honest and well written character its amazing. The first half is flawless and fits together perfectly. The writing is superb, the wit and humor, and the 40's setting was really nice to see. However later in the film it feels very montage like and everything feels kind of rushed. Red Skull and Zola where entertaining but flat. However that ending scene was so well done it might almost bring you to tears. The first half is a masterfully written heartfelt story and the second half is an action packed cheesy blockbuster with some fun moments. Overall a very good film. Expand

The Good:
- I think this is a near-perfect origin story for the character of Captain America. They captured his character very well and Chris Evans was a solid choice. - The CGI they used to make Chris Evans appear much smaller was actually well down. - The action is solid, and overall this is a fun film.

The Bad:
- The villain is weak and we never get any real sense that Captain America may not have everything under control, despite him being somewhat new to combat. - The love story between Captain America and Agent Carter feels a bit forced and unneeded. Not every story needs to be a love story.

The sub-header "TheIt's kinda hard, when watching Captain America, to forget that it's intended mostly as a prelude to the far superior The Avengers; Captain America exists mostly to introduce the character and do away with his origin story. The sub-header "The First Avenger" certainly doesn't help to relieve the feeling that this film just wasn't meant to stand in its own right.

But surprisingly enough, director Joe Johnston managed to turn a sparse script about an anachronistic and old-fashioned character into a well-paced, even entertaining film. It's not as entertaining or as energetic as The Avengers or the Iron Man movies; Captain America's style is in accordance with its World War II setting. Johnston embraces the anachronistic idealism and patriotism of the character, but never to the point that it feels camp. The film feels like it takes place in the 40's, but it doesn't feel like a pastiche or a period piece, which would have made the transition into The Avengers jarring and painful. It feels like it's part of the Marvel universe, but it also has its own unique feel (something which Thor and The Incredible Hulk, sadly, cannot say).

It's still not quite a stand-alone film - not like Iron Man. It shows more than any other Marvel film so far the flaws in creating this elaborate shared universe of characters. It's especially clear in the under-utilization of the villain character, the Red Skull, who promises to be an interesting and mysterious character but gets far too little screen-time, which is all spent on the good Captain's origin story. That story leaves very little room for the film to have any of its own plot. But it has its own atmosphere, it has heart and a sense of humor and an anachronistic, idealistic but very likable hero.

Captain America: The First Avenger is an awesome take on Steve Roger's (Chris Evans) beginnings. The movie stayed interesting but there were some notable flaws while watching, like the CGI done to put Steve's (Chris Evans) head on a much smaller person and the moment where Bucky (Sebastian Stan) fell out of the cargo train. Still, it's a good entry in the MCU and a good standalone movie.

Thankfully, a new government program capable of creating "super soldiers" gives him the opportunity to do so.

Unfortunately, even after Steve gets a physical upgrade, he's treated more like a propaganda-spouting mascot for the war effort than he is like a soldier making a genuine difference. Eventually, it gets to the point where he feels the need to take things into his own hands, as increasingly strange and worrisome events begin to take place.

Simply put, this movie is a delight. It suffers from some third act pacing issues, similar to Marvel Studios' other efforts, but it's full of wonderful performances, and is bursting at the seams with heart. The pure sense of hope and optimism that the film exudes makes up for many of its shortcomings. By the end, you will have felt so many different emotions, and will feel the need to put more good into the world.

Hugo Weaving put on a good villainous performance but I just wish his character had a little more development and more purpose in his actions as the Hydra leader. The WW2 setting is shown brilliantly in this film, and even though it can be slightly clichéd at times, it’s a good type of cliché, comic book film cliché. This film overall works great in the origin story department, but the thing with these films is that they are forced to introduce the character and that can sometimes limit where the story branches. So all in all, this film is made purposely for the introduction of the first avenger, to set up many greater stories to come. I’m going to give Captain America, The First Avenger an 86% Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was also worried about how the Captain America movie would turn out since his previous film was very lack luster. Fortunatey this film exceeded my expectations. This is set in the time of World War Two when America is trying to fight a sub operation of Nazis called Hydras and only Captain America can stop them. The origin in the comics lacked any kind of emotional impact but that has been fixed with the film rendition with Captain America played by Chris Evans. He adds a sense of humanity to the good Captain which was lacking in the comics and he is the perfect representation of the American Ideals. The beginning when Steve Rogers was a weakling gave way to some impressive computer effects. As is typical of a Marvel production, the strongest point is the interactions with the characters especially his relationship with Agent Carter and Bucky Barnes. Hugo Weaving plays a great rendition of the Red Skull as once again he represents the hero's polar opposite. It is a battle against Allies freedom vs Axis tyranny. Those who are history buffs might be disappointed since it barely talks about the politics of the war but it is really a summer block buster which was meant to be a fun time. This is not "Saving Private Ryan" here. The film has some impressive action scenes and it even plays around with the idea of using Captain America as a tool of propaganda who evolves into the war hero he was meant to be.The best scene in the film though was the ending after Captain America was wakes up after being frozen in ice. The way the sequence was shot with long takes, the 360 spin, and some medium close ups conveys a sense of loss when he realizes that he is no longer in his time. This film is definitely worth checking out. Expand

Perhaps most shockingly, the WW2 theme really works here - certainly being more authentic than many expected. What's more is there's a genuinely emotional part at the end that provokes a very rare sadness amongst a Marvel audience. Think it's all gone soft, though, and you'd be wrong, because Johnston packs this full of well-choreographed action scenes and exciting moments that make this a film to remember.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE: It's not the most mature affair if I'm honest!
VERDICT: This is a classic Superhero film with a touch of emotion and thrilling action. Phase 1's best solo film? Quite possibly.

While 'Captain America: The First Avenger' suffers from some retro style chliches, it's still a thrill ride of an entertaining superhero action movie, and once again, another worthy addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie stars Chris Evans (from 'Fantastic Four' fame) as Steve Rogers, this skinny little man from Brooklyn who believes that he is more than people tell him that he is. He wants to join and fight in the war, but is not physically suitable to do so. That is, until he meets Doctor Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci) who is testing out his latest experiment with a young Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) who plans on making Steve into a sort of super soldier.

We also meet the evil Johann Schmidt aka "The Red Skull" (Hugo Weaving), who runs a secret Nazi-like base named Hydra. He steals the tesseract, and plans on using its power, and also plans on bombing different cities across.

Hayley Atwell (looking gorgeous, as to be expected) plays Agent Peggy Carter who grows an attachment to Steve, and can see that after the process of giving him superior human, physical abilities, she understands that Steve has a purpose to serve in the war.

The movie looks great, and is written very well, we can understand the characters' motivations and the plot easily. The movie moves as a very quick pace as well, never slowing down and always showing one thing after another. The only problems that occur is that the villain is pretty cartoon-ish, there is no sense of threat that comes from him, and a lot of "Captain America's" best moments are mainly done through montage, so there is just nothing but highlights of what he did during the war.

Other than that, this is a rock-solid, full-blooded, and very entertaining Marvel movie. Evans, who previously played the cocky and comedic Human Torch in 'Fantastic Four' (2005), proves to be very fleshed out as the self-righteous Captain America. This is a movie made for Marvel fans...

So I take a chance to watch this movie, and I have to say that this movie was very good with huge CG effects with lots of pulp descent action film. The CG effects are pretty amazing that sometimes it could be handy like creating worlds with atmosphere, instead watching CGI in people on their faces. The actor who played Captain America (Chris Evans) was very good and that's a perfect choice for the superhero. The characters are well acted and I enjoy watching that villain named Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) was dark and very cruelty that he did best villain as Agent Smith in The Matrix Trilogy. The background is neat and the visual looks amazing, of course that I didn't see it in 3D, but I recommend that see it in 2D if you can. Captain America is a solid summer blockbuster hit for the best comic book movie that could attach to my top of X-Men: First Class and more changeling than Transformers 3 that it didn't look too good (of course it stinks!), but very good. While the beginning is kind of boring, and the costume isn't the greatest, it still features a great origin story, along with chris evins playing as a great captain America.

But that doesn't make the movie any less enjoyable, but instead makes it fun and memorable, more so than your normal every-day action flick.

Although not as good as Guardians of the Galaxy, The First Avenger proves to be one of the better Marvel movies.

Chris Evans was an amazing Captain America, staying true to what the comics tried to depict as a hard-headed justice seeker. The movie is a great set up to the Avengers, which what it was meant to be.
