Sure Cap was hell bent on saving his Bucky, his ol' pal. Granted that I loved that Spiderman showed up and the fight scene was great, too much Tony just dulled this movie. My problem is, this felt more of an Avengers movie than it was a Captain America movie. I gave it a 7 because if you just primarily focused on Cap, Bucky, Natasha and Sam...that could have been the movie on it's own. It would have been more interesting (had they kept the original premise) in regards to those other Winter Soldiers and go from there. Other than that I would have called this Avengers 2.5 instead of Captain America. Expand

So, I am going to honest here. I can't really critique the movie as I didn't watch the whole thing. It was on netflix. I watched about 30 minutes. I got bored and then I did something else.

Captain America is the character with the best trilogy in the MCU.

It starts out with a boring fight scene, then nothing happens for about 20 minutes as the superheros all sit round talking nonsense, then another boring fight scene, followed by a boring car chase. If you're not emotionally invested in these comic book characters and just want to watch an engaging film, this isn't one to watch. I was utterly bored by half way and gave up watching.

Its all been done before, and its been done better. These superhero movies are a conveyor line of mediocrity and I'm done with the whole genre now, there's too many that are essentially all the same thing, people in spandex fist-fighting in CGI filled-sequences. They're all becoming mindless garbage designed to get the comic book fans into the cinemas during the first week no matter how bad these films are.

In an attempt to kill Rogers one of the terrorists blows himself up, and in telekinetically diverting the explosion Maximoff accidentally destroys a nearby building killing several Wakandan humanitarian workers in the process. The event leads to the United Nations seeking to have greater control of the team and creating a divide between them.

Featuring a plethora of Marvel characters (both old and new) Civil War is an Avengers movie is all but name, and with the characters facing up against each other it certainly feels different from other movies in the MCU.

Marvel is slowly becoming to bloated, saturated, and corporate to be enjoyable anymore. Disney has done exactly what it is setting out to do: make a product that is polished to a perfect smooth shape without having any contradictions or flaws. There is no friction with consuming this film, but to my pallet it's to the point that the taste is now indistinguishable from any of the other Marvel Films. Without enough stylization, all of these productions are starting to blur together without anything distinguishing them. Half-way through these movies, I find myself asking, "Is this the one where [event] happens?" Audience need not look any further than to figure out if Hulk and Thor are both in the movie at once to find the answer. I am bored, desensitized, and no longer interested in this film universe. The characters aren't grounded or distinguished enough for me to care about them anymore. What's the worst that's going to happen to Captain America or Tony Stark? They're going to have a tantrum on each other, sure. But no one is going to go full-measure. Kind of like what Scarlet Witch said to Clint Barton when he was fighting Black Widow: "You're pulling your punches." Yawn. Disney is far too worried about pleasing everyone to do anything that is actually exciting. You trust Disney/Marvel because it's an insured/secured/prove brand. You don't go to watch their movies to actually have your ability to process a story tested, you go for a McDonald's Cheeseburger that you know is going to taste exactly like every McD's cheeseburger you've ever had and will ever have. Again, Yawn! Expand

But somehow there are too many characters and this isnt a Captain America movie in my view, it is an Avenger movie.
Also I didnt like the gender mainstreaming elements in the beginning of the movie.

It fully delivers and got the Russo brothers even more attention and fame. It is based or inspired by the huge Civil War Marvel comic event. This was epic as it put heroes against heroes, tore apart teams, families and friendships while having serious impacts and causalities. While we were talking before who is stronger or the better hero now we were talking who was right or how much is acceptable in the security vs freedom dilemma. So the expectations were high for the movie and it fully delivered. It is a gamechanger and will have impacts even up to Avengers Endgame. Lets start with a set up. Approx a year after the events of Age of Ultron the Avengers are on a mission in Africa. However not everything goes smoothly and so the United Nations want to make some additional rules for them. Bucky struggles with his past as Winter Soldier and newfound freedom while Helmut Zemo a former high ranking officer from Sokovia (Devastated by collateral damage in another movie) starts a scheme that will change everything. The story is magnificent. It works well in tandem with the characters. You can understand their motivation and feel their emotions, struggles and doubts. Also they gave us Spiderman and Black Panther. Both characters are well introduced and I wanted to see more of them. Of cause the action works well and the airport battle and final fight are awesome. This is the strength of the Russo brothers. They mix great stories with character development and garner it with humor and action. Bonus: This movie gave us a lot to discus. Be it morals, philosophies, security vs freedom or who is right and wrong (Both sides have their pros and cons). Lets continue with the characters. We have all Avengers except Hulk and Thor. The main characters are Captain America / Steve Rogers played by Chris Evans and Tony Stark / Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr. Both are truly excellent and make this enjoyable. To be fair I see Tony Stark also as villain in this movie while I also admit that Steve makes some bad decisions. I continue with the newcomers. Chadwick Boseman works incredibly well as T’Challa / Black Panther. I am always amazed how the MCU made all the right choices for their characters. Same goes for Tom Holland as Spiderman. Only a shorter appearance but he also works so well that I wanted to see more. The established characters work really well to. Be it Scarlett Johanson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Elisabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Paul Rudd or Don Cheadle. Everyone delivers and is worth watching. For the villains we have of cause Tony Stark who is not that much wrong. I say he is misguided and fails to see the bigger picture. The United nations in the MCU works not better than in real live and I do not want them to make the important decisions (if they can get even anything done). If you think I be harsh just google Rwanda genocide to see one of the hallmarks of their failings or what they got done to solve the Syrian war. Back to the movie. Then we have Daniel Brühl as Helmut Zemo. For me one of the best villains in the MCU and underrated Clarification: Of cause he is not as good as Thanos or N’Jadaka from Black Panther. I like him because I can see myself in him and T’Challa does this too as he walked the same path. Also he is just a normal human and pulls this of. Well done character and very good acting. I think I should also praise John Kani as T’Chaka and William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross her. In total an awesome cast and great performance. Presentation wise this movie is amazing. The special effects are excellent and enhance the scenes. Everything is immersive and believable. It is a hallmark of the MCU. It ends not here as the sets, costumes and choreography is also well done. There is no misstep here. The soundtrack rounds up this presentation. There are some slight negatives. I am surprised which side Black Widow picked and Vision too (but to a lesser content). Also some things should have more fallout. But those are small nitpicks in an amazing experience. Overall this was an amazing experience and a must see for me. With this all Captain America movies are great and the Russo will even go up to eleven with their next movies. Expand

And I don't mean the best as in it's a bit better than the other ones, I mean this movie is actually kind of incredible. I think the first Avengers is the only film that I'd say is better than this.

The Russo brothers directed the hell out of this film. They use this cool old school big text on the screen every time a scene takes place in a different location, or with the year as well. With its camerawork, colors and even sound design the film's a lot more stylistic than the previous ones. A flashback scene involving the Winter Soldier has this very dark tone and they use some close shots and an echo-y effect on a gunshot and a car crash to make the scene a lot more disturbing than it would've felt without them. It's all these little details that the film has throughout that makes it feel so much more special. The action, especially in the airport scene, is fantastic, cool and fun to watch. This film lasts for two and a half hours and it felt like it went through in 15 minutes. Even the exposition scenes were handled very well and the dialogue was a lot better. The pace too is basically perfect. I seriously never got bored. Sure it's a bit weird that they throw all these scenes in involving a ton of characters in a Captain America film, but mostly all of them were still entertaining, interesting and felt like they matter. And just like with the first Avengers, there are no uninteresting side characters because there's basically no room for them whatsoever. This film has like 12 goddamn superheroes that are almost all set up in the earlier films. Even if it took 12 films to set up all these characters and to get to this point, it is really paying off here. Although that doesn't change the fact that a lot of the earlier films were really boring, and a film like The Incredible Hulk was just incredibly and laughably terrible.

The film isn't completely perfect though. There was the Zemo guy still and he sucked. His scenes broke the immersion for me a lot even when they were short because his acting was so much worse than the superheroes' and as a character he was just bland. I'm happy that he didn't technically turn out to be a villain at least, because this movie more like turns the superheroes against each other which was very clever.

This film definitely has me interested to see more. It's an improvement in creativity, action and actual interesting drama as well. Great film.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ah, Captain America: Civil War. Directed by the awesome Russo Brothers, who gave us the epic Winter Soldier. This is a good movie. The acting, action, and dialogue are all great. But there are some things I would definitely change about this film that I think would make it a lot better. One, if either Captain America or Iron Man died at the end of the film. that would feel like a gutsy move, and really raise the stakes of the events. And two, if the Avengers had been fighting because of the accords and some other reasons, instead of someone on the outside orchestrating everything. It would've felt a lot mote weighty if they had been fighting solely because of opposing ideals or some emotional reasons. But what we got here feels kinda cheap to me. But overall Captain America: Civil War is a good movie that is worth seeing at least once. I look forward to see what the Russo Brothers can pull off in Infinity War and its sequel. Expand

Rather than the threat of Earth's destruction, the Avengers face a more intriguing challenge; internal conflict created by the clashing ideologies of Captain America and Iron Man. Each character's motivations are clear, and neither is completely right or wrong. Zemo, an ordinary man, proves to be more effective at trying to tear the Avengers apart than Loki or Ultron. Though the story is darker and heavier, Civil War is still as entertaining as any other Marvel movie. It doesn't lack action, and the new additions Black Panther and Spider-Man shine in their limited screentime. Personally, Civil War is my favorite MCU film. Expand

Though the movie is by no means bad, it certainly falls short in the long run and compared to other Marvel installments.

So, Captain America: Civil War was greatly anticipated and was a guaranteed hit this year with the box office and critics. Whilst it seemed to be praised greatly by critics, many fans I have spoken too as well as myself agree, it wasn't good.

First of all, The Winter Soldier is basically what this film is going to be compared too by everyone, there is no escaping it, it is there for comparison due to it being one of the best Marvel movies, arguably ever.

So Civil War had a lot of expectations to live up too, did it meet them? Well in my controversial opinion, no.

The film is in all honesty a clunky mess of fan service and bad camera work.

Firstly let's talk about the camera work. The remarkable thing about Marvel movies is that they have always managed to feel remarkably cinematic and look professional. Civil War threw it all out of the window in an attempt to make the action 'grittier'. All this 'grittier' action got us however was extremely choppy and shaky camera work that seemed almost as lost as the audience was at the end of Inception.
Honestly, there is one scene that stands out to me as the fight going on? Yeah we didn't see that, the camera decided to start shaking looking at a wall.

The plot is also far too complex for it's own good. Sure it was good that Marvel had begun to delve into the more political and consequential side of their heroes however it's done so in a way that not only feels rushed, but also brushed over. They seem to think it's the first movie to do this in the superhero genre but it is not. Batman V Superman did it better and more consistently.

Civil War did have positives though, despite the complex plot, potential does shine through certain parts. Such as the airport fight scene in which we see these 'teams' fight. However yet again, it's wasted as they all seem to be friends again for the epilogue of the movie.

The main issue CA: CW faces it's the fact that by cramming all of these heroes into one film. they have to demonstrate their powers along with new things we haven't yet seen from the already introduced heroes. This in turn results into a lot of what feels like forceful fan service. Sure Ant-Man turning big was cool to watch, but it wasn't really necessary, it was just there to extend this fight.

One good thing to come of the film is that there is this feeling that there are consequences for these characters, and sets up a good few films still to come.

In the end Civil War is a massive disappointment and doesn't really bring anything new to the table.

Final Opinion: Just read the comic instead.

Civil War gets a 4/10 from me or in letter grade system, a D.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Or they could just ramp Scarlet Witch up to the level she is/was at in the comics and mind melt everybody. You can watch Here http://www.moviesportal.pk/hindi-dubbed-movies/

The action scenes blew me away and watching the way that the Avengers work together and against each other in creative ways while using teamwork was a treat. Russo Brothers are six-pack energy drink full, the after party is too much and fortunately the phrase, the more the merrier, against all logic, works.

Captain America: Civil War

Russo Brothers is painting the best of what this franchise can and does offer. This peak of MCU pulls every cat out of the bag they can, with political correctness that it breathes and a thrilling blood for blood revenge that it dwells on. This sci-fi genre that MCU has been claiming it so arrogantly uptill now comes alive in this final chapter of Steve Rogers. The film is not only confident but thought provoking where the makers being aware of the influence of these characters over the decades, crafts into the storytelling wisely; one of the primary reason why Zack Snyder's Dawn Of Justice fails to communicate with its momentum.

What Joss Whedon failed to do in Age Of Ultron, Russo Brothers, the directors, does it with such ease that the previous chapter seems like a joke. The depth that this film breeds in this accused franchise is impeccable in context to the passion of finally even attempting to raise bigger questions that not only puts its banner on trial but also exhales satire in those dinner table conversations. "..and conflict breeds catastrophe" so obvious is that conversation yet so enlightening on reaping the flag with a propaganda written in bold for each character in that room that may or may not emit their views.

"It must be hard to shake the whole double agent thing, huh?" whips Downey to Johansson that has a much more gasping effect than any of the staged battles in the film. Probably the most underrated antagonist in the franchise, all his clips edited and sprinkled on the storyline is much more nuanced that your usual scenarios in MCU, "there is a little green in your blue eyes.." he concludes and you know then and there with a satisfying feeling that the film has succeeded along with Daniel Bruhl that spirals out what they call it Civil War, he, an empire fallen.

The connection to the previous film, "WinterIt was with pleasure that I saw this film from the cinematographic franchise "Captain America". It is a franchise that has given rise to increasingly extraordinary and visually ambitious films. The connection to the previous film, "Winter Soldier", is very present, but I confess that I was left with the feeling that it would have been better to see the "Avengers" franchise first, in order to better understand the film, and the relational mechanics of the characters. I remember, as I said in other reviews, that the world of comics is a maze that I do not dominate at all.

The plot revolves around a tense situation: after having made a lot of victims and material damage in their operations (finally, someone realized this), the Avengers were punished: they either subjected themselves to UN supervision or were considered outlaws. While the leader, Stark, accepts the impositions, Rogers sees them as an unfair limitation and bets on going his way, even if he breaks with his colleagues and, especially, Stark. At the same time, a subplot develops around Bucky Barnes, Rogers' childhood friend, and his mysterious past.

The script is complex and full of details, subplots and nuances that can escape our gaze if we are not attentive or do not know the Marvel universe reasonably. I felt that sometimes the development of the script didn't quite know which way to go or what ideas to develop, and that several characters appear because they really had to be there, if only for a couple of minutes. The central core of characters, however, receives a very good treatment and has time to develop. I thought it was a little strange to see Spider-Man among all these people. He looks a little out of place. And in a film so loaded with good and great heroes, I missed a truly charismatic villain who balanced things out a bit.

The cast is a real nest of stars: it is huge and full of notable names. Of course, the protagonist is Chris Evans, as Captain America. He is already fully acclimated to this character and knows perfectly what to do, and does his job flawlessly. Robert Downey Jr is the eternal Tony Stark, a character he was born to do and who does in an exceptional way. Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan continue to be excellent, as they were in previous films. Paul Bettany seemed strangely robotic until I realized that he was really playing an android. Chadwick Boseman was excellent, serious and very focused. Elizabeth Olsen was fine, but not brilliant, and the same can be said of Emily VanCamp, in a relatively bland performance. Anthony Mackie showed up little and Don Cheadle just did what he really had to do.

Technically, it is a film worthy of Marvel and of the quality to which it has accustomed us: it is an extraordinary and stylish visual show, where every detail has been thought out in a meticulous way to increase the audience's visual and auditory experience. Cinematography is great and the filming work has been wonderfully accomplished. Visual, special effects and CGI work add sparkle, power and visual depth. The editing work was very well done, with precise cuts and great balance. The action scenes, especially the one at the airport, are good and will satisfy the appetite of Marvel fans. The sets and costumes were also very well done and look authentic. The soundtrack is quite good, but I didn't feel it was something that was really in the ear.

The Captain America films are the only Marvel films that continue to get better with each new installment. Captivating, emotional suspenseful, Civil War shows to be much more than just a "comic-book" film. We are finally beginning to see how the actions of our superheroes have dire consequences. As well, Marvel has made major improvements in its villain department, giving us a villain that isn't just there to be a foil. A deeper examination of the film shows that it can serve as a social commentary with being divisive. Expand

Unfortunately, that's a very low bar to start with. Boring, anti-climatic, and just... overall filled with poorly thought out nonsense just to push an even poorer thought out plot. I found myself incredibly frustrated with almost all characters at one point or another, because consistent characterization is just non-existent throughout MCU movies.

The only saving grace of this movie were the Captain America scenes (believe me, the title is misleading; this is an Avengers movie). Characterization actually made sense in those, and the fights were well choreographed and entertaining to watch. Can't say the same about the final show down, however, with the sad setting they picked for it. An empty airport, really? I'm asleep.

They did a good job, taking into account that they introduced new characters. This movie is darker, but the humor has been used properly. We had a good villain, Zemo. He had a good motivation not a bland one (I'm bad, so I have to destroy the world ...).
Some action scenes have been filmed with many cuts (I'm not a big fan) and I do not like the color correction (most of the movies are so, unfortunate).

I felt going into this movie that I would be disappointed, but I'm glad to say that this movie blew me away. This is the 2nd best MCU movie right behind The Winter Soldier. This movie closes out the best trilogy of movies in the MCU. The movie can be surprisingly dark at some points which I honestly loved. I feel like even though most of the Civil War book was ignored, it still held the same key points enough for it to warrant the title. A very worthy successor to The Winter Soldier. This one was really close to be the best MCU movie, but then it just went in a very wrong direction that I really hated... And this very wrong thing is, the length.
I think that it really wasn't necessarily to be 146 minutes, cause I was bored sometimes, and actually it's the same problem with most of the MCU movies.

The roles -as always- for me aren't good, the performance of most of the cast is very poor! Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow is bad as always, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier is getting worse every movie, Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther WAS totally a fake-act and Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America is ridiculously serious as always.

But some roles I really adored, and comes in number one Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man as always, then Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Paul Bettany as Vision, Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon.
The others were equal to me.

The action sequence was really epic, the CGI was stunning too, it had a slight sense of humor and the story was iconic!

Captain America: Civil War is definitely a great, stunning, epic and unwell-ed most of the performances movie!

First things first, this is an Avengers movie in disguise. Sure, Captain America is somewhat the focus, but the emotional core of the story comes from the conflict between every member of the team, especially Steve and Tony.

This movie surprisingly holds back on the action to give us many scenes of characters talking and debating. That's not to say that there's no action, 'cause there's still a lot, but the main conflict comes from the more relatively quiet scenes. The action is just a culmination of the tension set up there.

I really love how the big bombastic battle isn't the climax. The climax is instead a more personal and visceral fight between three characters. Also, Zemo is one the franchise's best villains.

It's just a great movie all around and possibly my favorite MCU movie. RIP Chadwick Boseman.

Kudos to the Russo brothers for making a great Marvel movie again. Amazing choreography, fight scenes, chase scenes, and great stunt work.

At the end of the day, Captain America: Civil War is a movie about friendship and vengeance, and how these two things split the Avengers into 2 groups, and forced all the superheroes to make a choice on whom to fight for.

Both the mental and internal conflicts for this movie were so great! After the events of Age of Ultron, this pushed for the amendment of the law which was the catalyst for the splitting of the Avengers into two. Simply amazing!

That's it? It is not terrible but I think it can go even further. Too confusing, not funny, Captain America's reason is childish, and I think it is just a showcase of special moves.

FRIENDSHIP? OR THE WORLD? Capt. America proves that being a friend means that even if the entire world is against you, he will be there with you till the end.

Civil War is just like the prequel for the Infinity War, where a lot of Marvel's heroes are showcased. More hyped to see what will happen after the Avengers were disbanded.

Spiderman and Black Panther's introduction to this movie made it a whole lot better. And we can expect that that is a foreshadow for their upcoming movies, too.

This battle between Marvel's finest superheroes left me hanging on the edge of my seat. It was a great one, seeing how friends had to choose which side will they choose, and to fight for what they believe is right.

Mas o filme falha em que não é sempre que os efeitos especiais funcionam, o vilão principal da trama não é interessante na verdade e faltou guerra nesse filme.

What an absolute joy 'Captain America: Civil War' is! It made 147 minutes feel like so much less. Great action, enthralling story, sharp humour and some impeccable use of the many, many characters; even introducing two new faces to the MCU. I won't spoil who, but they are massive additions and I love what they give to this.

It gives the perfect amount of screen time to all involved, there is no-one I wanted to see more or less of - it all felt very natural too, big kudos for that. Chris Evans is terrific, this is his best performance as Captain America thus far in my opinion. Robert Downey Jr. continues to impress, as expected.

Sebastian Stan as Bucky also sticks out, I didn't love that character in his preceding appearances but in this I really did connect with his story. Anthony Mackie and Don Cheadle remain good fun, while Daniel Brühl plays his role very nicely. Elsewhere, Paul Rudd's inclusion is amusing.

The whole film, as is normal in these productions, looks stunning. They are incredibly well made. As noted at the top, this is more new favourite from the MCU - surpassing 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. I guess there's no hiding who my standout avenger is, eh?

The only 'but' I have for this is the title. It's practically an avengers film. I'm not saying it's an ill-fitting title, I get it's the titular character's arc, but I feel like it does the film a slight disservice - it's impacts much more than Captain America.

That's not a big deal, at all, though. No doubt in my mind: this is superb!

Captain America: Civil War is a great film that is very enjoyable. The action scenes were cool, the humor was funny, and it all let up to one of the best hero fights in the MCU. Great film! 9/10
