The film has a very weak story, equally weak acting. I wonder if Hollywood is still capable of making a movie with a minimum level of quality. At best this movie should have gone straight to the streaming service, skipping theaters.

Blue Beetle: The hispanic cliches... the movie was full of hispanic cliches, probably the mexican population in the US identify to it, I don't. The hero's journey is faulty by the sheer lack of importance and sympathy given to the characters, and most import: the lack of overcoming a challenge to become a hero. The battles are okay, good CGI and VFX. This could be part of the Fast and Furious franchise, that's how bad it is. Do not waste your time nor give money to studios that treat you like a fool.… Expand

It's a disney channel movie disguised as a DC film. The acting is terrible, the characters are annoying, the love interest is boring af, and there is no tension or impact at all for me to feel engaged or emotional. **** this movie, the flash is great

Well, it was ass. Straight garbage with a first half that tricks you into thinking it'll be good, but then nose dives off a cliff into unfunny mediocrity. The beginning of the film wasn't a super grounded film or anything but felt like weWell, it was ass. Straight garbage with a first half that tricks you into thinking it'll be good, but then nose dives off a cliff into unfunny mediocrity. The beginning of the film wasn't a super grounded film or anything but felt like we were getting a cool idea for an SH film, surrounded by a tight family group, but then the cliches started pouring in. Also, with cringe/unfunny jokes about a spaceship making farting noise to a joke that was so unfunny the first time, they preceded to make the joke over and over like beating a dead horse. After the cliches and terrible jokes came the awful plot holes. From a person's motivation to people's decisions, blue beetle just kept getting more and more atrocious. It's remarkable how a film that started off pretty well spiraled into such mediocrity that I was rolling my eyes constantly throughout the end of the film.

Overall, Blue Beatle isn't Wolverine origins or Fan 4 stic levels of awful, but it's one of those SH stuck in the past and wasting potential. This could have been like a spiderverse with cool minority characters and a strong family movie (which they had 2 scenes with all of them together), but got painted over with the typical bad SH cliches. Next time, if you're going to make an SH like this, at least take the good cliches of SH films and not the ones that make people roll their eyes.

A generic superhero movie you've seen many times before. Likely a 7 0R 8 if it was made 10 years ago but today this has been played out. I didn't hate it but there not much here to want to rush out to watch it.

Generic and predictable. Does nothing new and takes no risks. Felt like it was made on a conveyor belt as the standard superhero origin story you’ve seen a thousand times already. Family dynamic is the only thing that saves it from going lower.

Not terrible, but still very generic and predictable. The story has some heart, although it's got every Latino cliché you can think of. As always, we got the most boring and unidimensional villains. But I can't deny I laugh at some jokes.

The DCEU should end with this film. The cast tries, which is why I didn't give it a 0, but it is so generic and cliche that it was hard to get into. Literally, everything bad that can happen happens to this family - Jobs are lost, they're losing their house due to financial problems, the house is eventually lost in a fire, and a family member dies. We are beaten over the head with so many of these cliches in order to get us to rally around these characters and it just doesn't work. The villains are equally bland with the secondary villain having all of maybe 10 lines of dialogue throughout the film. This movie doesn't just get progressively worse. It nosedives in quality in the second half.

There were multiple moments throughout the film that nearly caused me to walk out during the second half and I actually did end up walking out with roughly 15 minutes left in the film. Once the Grandmother appeared to save the day in the tunnels, I got up and left. Don't bother with this one. It's as bad as Shazam 2.… Expand

Almost everything is a mixed bag. The acting is mostly good, with Xolo doing a good job. At the other end of the spectrum is Susan Sarandon, over her skis in an ill-fitting role. In between the good and bad were a cast that seemed to be trying to channel Mexican Wrestling movie style of acting. I have to assume this was the director's fault as George Lopez and others can legit act.
Visually, the movie is interesting, and the action is not a jumble of explosions with nothing to catch the eye, but it's too heavy on the neon color palette. Thankfully, not Speed Racer level of Neon, but too much.
Which brings me to the lowest qualities of the movie. If I was 5 and loved popcorn, I would have been munching without blinking from start to finish. But, I'm not and so the movie was the most predictable, lazily-written movie of any genre I have seen in decades. It feels like someone plugged Blue Beetle into an AI using Story Wheel or Save the Cat and this is what was spit out. The humans who wrote it have nothing to be proud of as I was literally predicting every scene and outcome. I only failed to predict how bufoonish the behavior of the family was, or how incompetent the evil organization. Editing and some better character writing would have improved it tremendously.
I forced myself not to leave the theater, but even watching it on $4 ticket on National Cinema Day, I felt it was not worth the money.
I am happy it serves some audiences that needed better attention, but Blue Beetle deserved to be a film better than, say, The Phantom (1996).… Expand

Generic is the name of the game. Without exception, all elements fit the familiar patterns of the superhero genre. It's not about cleaning house, or starting from scratch, or forging a new path.

If anything, it's the second-to-last step that will seal the fate of a now dead cinematic universe.

Blue Beetle undeniably falls into the category of a minor film. Its original intention to be released on HBO Max is obvious in its quality, and its essence resembles a fusion of a typical DC series from CW, albeit backed by a higher budget.

It's my belief that this movie was on track to encounter a fate similar to that of Batgirl. However, it seems that Warner Bros. recognized the potential to tap into the Latino audience in the US, and this perception likely drove their decision to take the gamble of a theatrical release.

Now as I said, Blue Beetle has nothing to offer that hasn't already been seen before and thus regardless of its status as the first film in DC's new cinematic universe, it will only be more rewarding for a casual audience who aren't looking to see twenty movies before to understand it and also for those who obviously watch any movie with a superhero as the main character, but if you're tired of that and this isn't your concept of entertainment, don't waste your time.

I doubt this character will reappear in the future, but we'll see.… Expand

I'm Latino from Mexico and the Mexican family was very annoying, cringe and very stereotypical, not every Mexican families act like that. And the ecxess of latino music was unnecesary. The jokes were lame and unfunny especially the grandma scenes and the unfunny uncle. And the sister was unlikable and cringe and a MisMarvel ripoff.
The love interest looked forced and her lore was boring and overdone. The writting and dialogues were BAD, like it was written for 10 years old to laugh at every forced mexican bad word they said. The fighting scenes were cool but the no killing nonsense was lame, the CGI was decent. And the villians were not interesting and forgettable, and you could predict the secondary villian would turn against the main villian. And the whole family message is all over the movie and gets old, and the scene where they cry looked forced.
To sumerize, this was a generic DC superhero movie with a plot we have seen too many times before and it just passes the time for me, but kids might love this and spam this movie all over Twitter. So it's a 6/10 for me.

And now with the things I dislike outside the movie.
The Director is an a$$hole and very woke, he made a joke about Batman being 'Faccist' and it was ment to be funny but it isn't. And people complained and the director made fun of them on Twitter saying 'My job is done here'
And this line:
“That seems a little…”
“Sexist?”
This line feels out of place and its very woke.
And of course the movie director is from Puerto Rico, so thats why he obsessed with the Latino culture in this trash movie.
So I would put this a 3 just for this review to be negative and the movie deserves to Flop.… Expand

It honestly feels like a TV sitcom half the time thanks to George Lopez highjacking every scene he is in. The villains were forgettable at best and one was just a stereotypical evil corporate strawman.

What’s a real shame is the Original Blue Beetle Teddy Kord who was a sort of ramshackle batman without the wealth and used repurposed 80’s tech to fight crime would have made an infinitely better story for Jaime Reyes that would have given him the opportunity to actually struggle and grow as a character. I feel like the focus was more on Jaime being and struggling as a Latino than as a individual young adult granted powers by a dangerous alien weapon he doesn’t yet understand(this is a superhero movie after all). Speaking of the Beetle it’s origin as a world destroying alien weapon is never expanded on which would have made Jaime fighting for control more interesting and provide a definite separation between him and Iron Man.

I really wish they would have leaned far more into the 80’s power ranger vibe as well.

Lastly, apparently one can curse infinitely in a PG-13 movie as long as it’s in Spanish? George Lopez was dropping C bombs nearly every scene he was in.… Expand

The film was directed by Angel Manuel Soto, and written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.

THINGS I LIKED:
I first noticed Xolo Mariduena in the Netflix TV show Cobra Kai where he does a fantastic job. He’s excellent in this role and has a very bright future. I’m so happy for him and for his success. His character features a scrappy, naïve element to the Superhero genre, much like Spider-Man has done for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Other cast members include Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, comedian George Lopez, Harvey Guillen, Belissa Escobedo, Adriana Barraza, Damian Alcazar, Becky G, Elpidia Carillo, Bruna Marquezine, and Raoul Max Trujillo. They all do a great job by clearly defining distinct characters. The grandma character is awesome and hilarious.
DC Studios CEO James Gunn ultimately decided that the Blue Beetle character would be disconnected from the DC Universe. That being said, we see the name “Lexcorp” on a tower from the Superman movies. We also see Jaime wearing a Gotham Law hoodie from the Batman movies.
Final Fantasy video game fans will get a kick out of the scene when Jaime creates the Buster Sword as his weapon of choice.
We’re introduced to Mexican culture. The Latino population will love seeing one of their own featured as a superhero! One of the Hispanic characters dies, something that the DC studio pushed for in order to make it more emotional. Angel Manuel Soto didn’t want to do that but later saw it as an opportunity to share how the Mexican culture views death.
Family is at the heart of this movie. It’s what gives the film both a soul and humor.
Humor has been one of the magical elements to the success of Marvel movies and where DC movies have failed, for the most part. This movie taps into the natural humor of a Mexican family and gives it all of the charm DC needed to level up to Marvel.
The town of Palmera City is fictitious, much like Gotham City.
Fun fact #1: Roberto Gomez, son of the original Chapulin actor Roberto Gomez Bolanos voices a radio transmission in this movie.
The film has a lot of entertaining Easter eggs to look for. For example, in Spanish, we hear someone announce on the TV that “Bruce Wayne Bought Twitter.” Ha ha I remember seeing “Sabado Gigante” on TV when I sailed through the channels. In one scene in this movie, we see it playing on the TV in the background.
This is the 14th movie in the DC Extended Universe.
One element that I really loved was when the Blue Beetle is able to truly understand a bad guy’s unique perspective. Hurt people hurt. If only we all took the time to understand, rather than judge and react without the full story.
Keep watching during the rolling credits for another scene. THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:
Because of Xolo Mariduena’s work in Cobra Kai, we know that he has some serious karate skills, yet they were, sadly, underutilized in this movie. His physicality and skills could have been a real highlight. He’s not much of a superhero throughout most of the movie, but just bumbles his way through fights and, most of the time, gets beat up or tries to run away.
So much CGI.
So much screaming.
The villain isn’t very compelling.
It’s extremely cliched with wooden dialogue.
Very predictable.
Sometimes, the Blue Beetle suit’s robot capabilities work but other times it’s silent and doesn’t seem to help. I didn’t understand the inconsistencies. TIPS FOR PARENTS: A lot of Spanish is spoken with subtitles.
There is a surprising amount of profanity in English and Spanish.
Superhero fighting
Lots of destruction
Talk of a parent who died in the past
Someone in the family dies a sad, unexpected death.
Some blood splatters.
We see a flashback of a child kidnapping.

This movie was excellent, easily the best DC movie since The Dark Knight. Just fun, action packed, and a blast to watch. A really good sign if this is what we can expect from the DCEU reboot!

I didn't expect anything from this film, I was expecting this to be worse than Wonder Woman or Aquaman but I am Surprised.

Now this is a generic Superhero Film that will most likely not get a sequel due to the way DC is going, but If you areI didn't expect anything from this film, I was expecting this to be worse than Wonder Woman or Aquaman but I am Surprised.

Now this is a generic Superhero Film that will most likely not get a sequel due to the way DC is going, but If you are planning to watch this it's a safe Superhero movie, with solid acting, some good themes and some actually heart.

What I found bad about the film are these things:
The Sister, until the end.
The Generic, "I don't want the power or be a superhero type of deal".
The bad guy is just a bad guy for no reason.
Some CGI scenes are like Power Rangers on a higher budget. Ratings, Vamos:
- Visuals and CGI: 8/10, good.

- Story and Dialogue: 8/10, It is Funny, enjoyable, and filled with a lot of good moments.

- Action: 6/10, Lacking a little because the film leans a bit too much on the origin story, but when it's on, it's ON.

- Music: 5/10, Average Give him a good theme instead of "bwah, bwah bwwaah".

- Pacing and Logic 8/10: I would have liked it longer for Action Scenes like Man of Steel Did.

You were so close to an 8/10, omfg, this is a good film. It does a good origin story but misses a few key things.
Watch it, enjoy it, maybe forget it, and perhaps it might get a sequel. If it does, they need to go hard.

Keep this type of storytelling, increase action, and improve visuals, give him a theme.
You do all of that and you'll have a film that will break the sequel Curse and one to remember.

Ok that's it, it's a well-deserved 7/10, really surprised this is good, honestly.… Expand

As a blue beetle fan the action scenes were absolutely amazing and flawless, it faithfully represents Blue Beetles previous iterations and I felt like a kid again watching this movie. But the movie could use a little trimming.

So, I wasn't actually a person who was hyped up to see this movie, but with that said I think I need to back up on my previous non-interest.

This movie was absolutely amazing. It is a great family film and the cast and collaborative piece of entertainment art they produced with this is out of this world and then some.

I think that the dialogue and some of the scenes with the abuela and the Tio Rudy were probably the best and really moved the movie forward to give you both jam-packed, edge-of-your-seat thrills while throwing in some really epic heartwrenching and wholesome loving moments as well. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was totally captivated and loved every single detail about this movie from the DC universe. I really loved the way this family worked together and how each of the characters was a solid and comical character on their own - not just a supporting role but an extension of the very core of the most powerful emotion in the universe, LOVE.

I recommend this movie to anyone who loves action superhero films that stick to your heart and leave you laughing, cheering, and smiling the whole entire way!… Expand

Ao transpor parte do universo para tons mais latinos, alguns marcadores podem soar caricatos, como a sensualidade de seus personagens, a relação com a música e com a dança, ou mesmo a relação familiar e religiosa. Esse apego a uma certa irracionalidade mundana foi visto, por exemplo, no Namor de "Pantera negra", como se a América Latina não conseguisse passar a imagem racional de outras regiões (EUA, Europa).
Contudo, ainda que problemática tal abordagem, no filme o carisma dos personagens salvam o projeto, e há aqui uma tentativa de mesclar personagens secundários em seus tempos de tela suficientemente coesos o bastante para lembrar dos melhores momentos de "Guardiõe da Galáxia", oq eu é um elogio de respeito.
É impossível, no entanto, não destacar o papel da brasileira Bruna Marquezine neste filme, que está linda demais, e com uma interpretação que, por diversas vezes, engole o próprio besouro. A garota é uma estrela realmente, talentosa, com cenas enérgicas também, é uma coadjuvante de peso.
Divertido, porém não passa de um produto apenas correto. Não se arrisca, apela para o velho paradigma familiar para criar a ligação do herói com os demais e fortalecer seus objetivos. O vilão, por mais que melhor do que a média, não oferece real perigo. É um filme nitidamente engessado, que apenas faz seu feijão com arroz para não decepcionar.
É uma pena que as tentativas de sair do óbvio para a DC, com "The flash", ficaram muito aquém do que uma história pode oferecer, e esta aqui apenas ratificou que os sucessos de blockbusters pode seguir velhas formas, que o público irá certamente prestigiar pela familiaridade da linguagem. Mas não sei se já há um quê de saturação, não sei se o "besouro" será capaz de manter boa bilheteria, o fato é que a DC não passa por um momento tão bom assim, e se por um lado o filme não se arrisca, por outro, ao se manter numa posição confortável, joga com o risco equilibrado.
Vamos ver como saíra nas bilheterias, mas vejo que está sendo bem morna a recepção.… Expand

Kaynadıktan sonra altı kapatılır ve daha hızlı soğuması için ayrı bir kaba boşaltılır.
15 dk kadar bekleyip ılındıktan sonra labne peyniri ilave edilip mikser ile pürüzsüz hale gelene kadar çırpılır.
Diğer taraftan sıcak su içinde hazır kahve çözdürülerek hazırlanır ve hafif soğuması beklenir.
Servis tabağına pandispanya kekinin bir katı yerleştirilerek kahvenin yarısı ile ıslatılır.
Üzerine kremanın yarısı ilave edilip güzelce yayılır.
Kalan kahve ile üst kat da ıslatıldıktan sonra pandispanyanın ikinci katı kremanın üzerine kapatılır.
Kalan krema pastanın üzerine dökülerek pastanın üzeri ve kenarları güzelce spatula veya pasta sıvama aparatı ile kapatılır.

Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) kommt gerade frisch aus dem Studium zurück zu seiner Familie und muss die Familie finanziell helfen. Dabei lernt er Jenny Kord kennen, welche das Unternehmen ihres Vaters beschützen möchte vor Ihrer bösen TanteJaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) kommt gerade frisch aus dem Studium zurück zu seiner Familie und muss die Familie finanziell helfen. Dabei lernt er Jenny Kord kennen, welche das Unternehmen ihres Vaters beschützen möchte vor Ihrer bösen Tante Victoria (Susan Sarandon). Jamie bekommt von Jenny einen blauen Skarabäus und wird mit diesem eins und er wird zum Blue Beetle.

Blue Beetle wird vorgeworfen, dass er von anderen Superhelden viel klaut und keine eigenen Ideen hat. Diese Kritik finde ich viel zu übertrieben und zu hart. Zwar erinnert der Anzug stark an u. a. dem Spider-Man Anzug aus dem MCU. Trotzdem hat der Film noch genug eigene Ideen, womit dieser glänzen kann. Angefangen mit Jamie Reyes und seiner Familie. Die Familie ist so interessant und herzlich und jedes Familienmitglied ist interessant und unterschiedlich. Bis auf die kleine Schwester fand ich alle toll, vor allem den Onkel, den Vater und die Oma. Blue Beetle fokussiert sich nicht auf den Superhelden selber, sondern auf die Familie und diese tragen auch dazu bei, dass Jaime zu Blue Bettle wird. Die beiden Bösewicht im Film, zum einen gespielt von Susan Sarandon fand ich leider eher schwach, wobei der zweite Bösewicht, mehr tiefe bekommt und doch mehr überzeugt als sie. Der Humor im Film ist sehr passend gefällt worden und es gibt hier kein schlechtes CGI, was man heutzutage, leider auch loben muss. Es wird viele Leute geben, die den Film zerreißen werden und ihn nicht mögen werden. Wer aber einen auch emotionalen Superheldenfilm sehen möchte, welcher auch leicht an den Disneyfilm Coco erinnert, wird hier seinen Spaß haben.

En su búsqueda por encontrar su propósito en el mundo, el destino interviene cuando Jaime se encuentra inesperadamente en posesión de una antigua reliquia de biotecnología alienígena: el Escarabajo. Cuando el escarabajo elige a Jaime como huésped simbiótico, éste recibe una increíble armadura con poderes extraordinarios e impredecibles que cambiarán para siempre su destino y le convertirán en el superhéroe Blue Beetle.

LATIN VIBES

Con este cine es muy difícil coincidir con las demás opiniones, leo críticas que me resultan forzadas, críticas cuyos escritores opinan de la película tomando de la mano el cine de autor, u otro cine totalmente diferente al de Marvel y DC. O incluso, ya se acostumbran a criticar el cine de superhéroes por el tipo que és. Consumo cierto agotamiento siempre después de los estrenos por culpa de ellos. A veces me replanteo mi esfuerzo de escribir las mías porque al fin y al cabo hago lo que ellos, y quizá experimento la hipocresía. Tengamos en cuenta que toda historia superheroica yace de unos dibujos, de unos cómics, normalmente de ya décadas atrás. Los fans solemos pedir las historias adaptadas de esos viejos papeles al cine. Mayormente intactas. En este caso y cómo muchos otros, Blue Beetle tiene tanto cosas buenas cómo otras malas o repetitivas. Sí vemos unos personajes memorables, cuya diversión y amor te atrapan. Con una abuela mercenaria cuya opinión sobre Batman me incomoda y también una especie de Danny Trejo nada más verle. En adición, sus divertidos y bonitos diálogos. Indagando también en el género mexicano y con ganas de comerme unos buenos tacos cómo los que prueba Jaime Reyes después de su etapa universitaria. Y lo que sí justifica el tiempo gastado en la sala del cine son sus escenas de acción y los efectos. Sin embargo, sus dos villanos pueden ser menos agraciados, son repetitivos, ya me da hasta rabia, la gran Susan Sarandon protagonizando a una repetitiva Victoria Kord que manipula a su matón machito llamado Conrad Carapax (Raoul Trujillo) cuyo pasado era de lo más previsible aunque siempre convence a tus lágrimas. Al final el villano de ésta historia reúne lo que ya hemos tenido anteriormente. Vé a verla para tener un momento cool con tus seres queridos y conoces a la pedazo de familia que Jaime tiene, que llevan la película a dónde ellos quieren aunque sea unos orígenes rollo Peter Parker y una historia reiterada. Yes, it hits on the same beats of the formula as most movies created today, however it dares to show more heart than your run-of-the-mill superhero flick. It’s filled with great actors that bring life where many movies come up short. Plenty of action, great visuals, both humor and touching moments weave together a well-paced movie.

I didn’t know much about Blue Beetle before this movie, but after seeing the movie, I’m a new fan.

I hope this is a taste of things to come in the new DC cinematic universe. SEE BLUE BEETLE!!!… Expand
