maybe BP's music is kinda normal to the western market but to compare to other girl groups in south korea, they're unique. BP brings a different vibe to the listeners, they have their style. each members has their own story but the same purpose: to be debuted. just imagine year after year doing the same things but you dont know you will get in line or not. you just do it. somehow Rosé, Jisoo, Lisa and Jennie had made it.

just look at how they bonded with each other on the very first day: jamming to music 'till morning. gosh i wish i had friends like that. somehow they were meant to be.
you want a dark story of how they were trained? no, i dont think you will get it. this is the story of how BP become BP. only 4 years and they've come so far. i understand why you cant see the meaning after watching this documentary, because it is just the beginning guys, it's an introduction of a long long documentary about how they conquer the world. just be patient and they will show you.

maybe people will not talk about them after 6 or 7 years but trust me, the koreans will never forget about these 4 girls.… Expand

I love BLACKPINK, and I love 'Light Up The Sky'.

Perhaps in some way for those who could be interested in it, the documentary gives you an idea of the machinery behind a K-Pop group.

Why am I saying this? Because people will be hardly speaking about Blackpink again in about 6 or 7 years. Especially if you take into consideration the little commercial life that these groups have in the business.
Therefore, considering that having a documentary only corresponds to the impact they currently have, you can notice yourself by watching it, how little of their story has something meaningful to say.

* I had to listen to their music to get a better idea of what I'm talking about, and what I discovered is that their sound is more inclined towards western markets.
It's not something strange, many of those groups are already doing the same, but musically I didn't find anything impressive.… Expand

I'm 38 and out of touch with culture so I hadn't heard of BlackPink until Netflix sent me an email recommending this documentary. I generally enjoy behind the scenes music documentaries and this one was well done. An absolute masterpiece! Loved the separate segments for each member and the obstacles they faced as trainees. Jennie’s part really touched me about seeing so many girls leave yg due to the monthly evaluations and I can’t imagine what itsAn absolute masterpiece! Garotas incríveis, merecem tudo o que conquistaram, e esse é apenas o começo. O documentário consegue explorar cada particularidade individual das integrantes e ao mesmo tempo consegue explorar ambas como um grupo. É lindo de assistir.

this wasn’t good. i’m a blackpink fan and i’ve watched much better documentaries on kpop! it was boring and too “nice” you never saw anything that related to them and it brushed over a lot of stuff!

there was a few of important subjects but there was no deep in general, kinda superficial honestly.
