While The Room was a 100% Tommy Wiseau project (which he produced, wrote, directed and starred in), Best F(r)iends is a Greg Sestero project, in which he did everything that Tommy did in The Room except directing it.

Best F(r)iends is not as bad, I mean good, a film as The Room was. It's been produced by people who actually know how to make decent 21st century movies. It looks great, it's got memorable vistas, editing is great, it has a great and varied OST, characters develop, you won't ever think Best F(r)iends is a low-budget movie made by unknowns. There is no poor lighting, no green-screen, no WTF editing, no RnB soundtrack in love scenes, no chicken sounds. Unfortunately there is no football to toss around, but at least there is a basketball in its place LOL

Having seen just Part 1 of this 2-part movie, its content is surprisingly close to the real-life friendship of Wiseau and Sestero as depicted in "The Disaster Artist" book and movie. Two random dudes meet in the middle of the night and before you know it, they work together and become best friends. Yeah, sure, that's exactly how good friends and business partners are made in the real world! No need to actually get to know each other for years before trusting them!

The plot is straight and simple, but most surprising is the level of acting in this movie. Even Sestero makes some great performances, despite his awful, I mean perfect, acting in The Room. But Wiseau being Wiseau means he must always act like Wiseau. Tommy Wiseau's acting in this movie is at odds with everyone else's, he's still talking without using any verbs and articles, but you'll still love his crazy stunts. There is no legendary scene like The Room's "Hi doggie" or "I did not hit her", but there is still plenty of great Wiseau one-liners.

Part 1's ending is literally a cliffhanger, I can't wait for Part 2.
