Everest director Baltasar Kormakur crafts his man-versus-wild-animal drama with some niftily tense suspense sequences that split the difference between compelling and cheesy. I really loved this movie. Has some intense moments but it is one that is well worth the watch!

If you look past the dumb character decisions and some poor writing choices, 'Beast' is a solid thriller with good acting and CGI. There are many suspenseful moments and the movie never gets boring.

I felt the story was too simple and actually for most of it felt quite boring. Like taking a very usual and simple formula and not making it anything special. It is ok, but don't expect anything great.
