It's not going to get any better than this, not for a while, as far as comic book characters being actualized in film go. If you have two brain cells to rub together you'll enjoy this film. Even though this movie goes to Batmans "origins", I don't think it is accurate to label it a prequel in the truest use of the word. This movie is all its own. Expand

Wonderful! I am a big fan of the original Batman, however I did not care for the two that followed. I was pleasantly surprised with this prequel.

Although it's got its own share of flaws, a very well arranged movie. As a fan of the first movie I can openly say that Batman movie franchise is back after the sillyness it's gone through under Schumacher.

Solid movie, honestly probably the best superhero movie to date next to spiderman. The darkness of the movie is perfect, it brings back the feeling of tim burtons dark movies of BATMAN!!! Great job Nolan, Christian Bale was a perfect batman.

A great Batman flick. This is exactly what Bat fans needed to wash the taste of Joel Schumacher's toy mill driven movies from our mouths. This is exactly what Bat fans needed to wash the taste of Joel Schumacher's toy mill driven movies from our mouths. Katie Holmes was unnecessary but didn't detract from the film. I found it to be a very completely concieved peice. Even Batman's fighting style which wasn't so much about Matrix-esque visuals, but rather about conveying the idea of being attacked by a giant bat! I can't wait to see Nolan's take on the Joker. If you haven't seen any of the other modern Batman movies; don't. See this and wait for the next. Or if you must see any just watch the first Burton film. Expand

At first glance, Christopher Nolan seems like a totally incongruous choice to direct a film of this nature. But this is by far the best entry in the Batman film franchise to date!

If Great movie but honestly the Fighting scenes SUKS, except the last one were we can actualy see something, but to me bats never was about the fighting but WHY he fights! It's a movie with a great story and a dark movie in certain way. If you searching for a COMEDY film DON'T WATCH IT. Dialogues are perfect and the humor is very "batman-like". The cast is brialliant and so does the scenarios. This is a super-hero movie, if u want a DRAMA movie DON'T WATCH IT. This is for people that like dark (but not too dark) movies and like some reality and fantasy mix-up a little bit. And is very faithfull to the original character but, like most of the movies, they have to adapt so all can be explain in 2h and 30 min. All the things feats perfectly on the movie. If you didn't see any other BATMAN movies and you don't know much about it either you will understand why he become batman if you just pair atention. Expand

This pre-sequel makes a fictional character be realistic. What this movie does for Batman its pretty much is authentication. If Batman was to be real this would be the reason and how he got there. The only flaw in the movie was Katie Holmes... she just didn't fit the role because she got no adult presence. Christian Bale did great, well casted. I also liked the fact that it wasnt a linear story, there was a twist that fit the story(liam Neeson's envolvement...). I will buy this movie in dvd, I wont burn a copy from a rental, LOL! Expand

Chris Nolan did what noone from the previous films bothered to, and that is to put the focus of the story on Batman. They absolutely NAILED the character in this release. This was a brilliant combination of psychological drama (ala Memento) combined with popcorn cinema; the visceral with the visual (recall two seperate instances of Bruce dropping into the batcave, and his elders asking him, "why do we fall?"). It goes without saying that casting for this movie was absolutely brilliant - Christian Bale is perfect in his dual role. One element that doesn't get nearly enough attention is the musical score: it adds perfect tone to Batman Begins, tangible weight to dramatic moments... far more effective than Elfman's atypical schtick. All things said, I'm counting the days 'til it's released on DVD, and looking forward to seeing the next flim! Expand

The only real Batman movie so far. I'll give it to Tim Burton, he did a good job, but Michael Keaton? I'll give it to Tim Burton, he did a good job, but Michael Keaton? After seeing Christian Bale in 'Equilibrium' i was sure he'd make a perfect Batman, and after 'American Psycho' he can definitely play a pretentious businessman which is a perfect Bruce Wayne. I agree with other reviews, Katie Holmes was a mistake, and the writing became difficult at times (cheesiness by David Goyer as usual). But the story was strong, and it was great to see the reasoning behind everything...ninja training makes perfect sense with Batman's character..his cape and equipment, the symbolism of the bat, and the kick ass Batmobile all have a purpose. In the other movies you had to wonder why this guy was running around in a rubber suit with all this crazy equipment, just because his parents were killed when he was little....it didn't add up. Great movie, saw it 6 times, would see it 6 more. Expand
