The comedic horror realm that these films exist in, live through this new zombie flick. In the cold Austrian Alps a group of teens find themselves with a different form of vacation. A zombie horde on the rise causes unfortunate situations to happen surrounded in laughs with Director’s Dominik Hartl’s creativity. They fight for their lives in the most hilarious ways that I found very unsuspecting. For example, my favorite part is when they discover the zombie’s weakness which is something you wouldn’t pick up on and they exercise it. Nowadays, CGI is very much expanded upon but however this film’s use of practical effects was amazing. These effects give you a real feel for the zombies in the film and not something that looks silly - though the plot gives you that obvious carefree tone. I enjoyed it all the way through due to its free flowing quirky humor. It’s definitely the type of movie to watch with your friends with some popcorn around. Expand

It follows the misadventures of a group of snowboarders when they are left behind in the Austrian Alps during a Zombie Outbreak. Dominik Hartl did a great job directing a zomedy unlike one I’ve ever seen. The Alpine mountains provide a new setting, different than the usual broken-down town, and using snow gear to defeat the undead gives the story an interesting twist. Films seem to be dominated by CGI these days, but this film sticks to such realistic special effects, that I found myself having to look away from the gore. I’m usually more of a fan of Dramas, so this film pleasantly surprised me, I recommend it as your next light watch. Expand

The plot follows 3 spunky snowboarders on their adventure to the Australian Alps as they get caught in the deadly path of a science experiment gone terribly wrong. In all it's guts and glory there is a ridiculous amount of puns that had me dying of laughter. Watching it in good company made it all the better. How can you not be amused by a montage of snowboarders slaying the Lederhosen zombies and the attack of mutant deer. I really enjoyed what the movie had to offer and thought it was well worth the watch. Expand

It's a pretty fun zombie comedy. It's bloody, funny, entertaining and the zombies are very well made. While some people may find it too silly and over the top, it was still a fun, enjoyable and entertaining movie.

Creative and Entertaining!
In a genre saturated with zombie thrillers, Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies adds a refreshing spin to the usual hack-in-slash. What really stood out was the unique setting and gruesomely creative special effects. Set in the Austrian Alps, Lederhosen Zombies immersed me in a snowy scenario which I can only compare to Dead Snow. Furthermore, I found out quickly that this movie did not intend to cut costs in special effects department. With disembowelment, decapitation, and dismemberment, Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies was a fun and entertaining fright night film. I personally enjoyed its quirky plot and satisfying gore.

It did not fail to deliver these genre keystones but I was delightfully surprised by the pure romantic chemistry between Laurie Calvert and Gabriela Marcinková. Be on the lookout for these wonderful up-and-coming artists in future films. This hidden layer beneath the mountains of carnage and jokes reminded me of Shaun of the Dead, where there was a great coming of age story motivating all the action. If you’re searching for something off the beaten path, with some wit, then this is the natural choice. Expand

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed a “slasher” like this, as I am not usually a huge fan of horror or zombies. The zombie-centric jokes and burlesque humor that the director added were great ways to lighten the mood of the typically morbid genre. And plus, the trailer did a fantastic job of showing me what kind of comedy the movie included, and slapstick antics like zombies dying by snowboarding gear were both hilarious and inventive. The entire movie was true to its trailer and constantly delivered on the laughs. Overall, I thought this movie was perfect for anyone wanting a little bit of edgy thrill with a lot of laughs and fun. Director Dominik Hartl uses this “horror” basis in his latest film to cleverly poke fun at the genre. He pairs a Dawn of the Dead apocalypse scenario with the vibes of the extra 80s ski classic canon to meet an absurd end. Lederhosen Zombies’ ridiculous characters, gory death scenes, and silly puns truly make for a bloody good time. I was thoroughly entertained. Expand
