2/5★ ABCD 2
Bollywood is famous for its "Item numbers" which are song and dance routines that can be complex and eye-catching. Contemporary Western dance flicks are known to have terrible acting and dialogue but pretty cool dance numbers (Step Up 2-5.) Mix the two together and what you get is a film that is pretty bad once the synchronized bodies stop moving.

A DANCE LOVER WON'T BE DISSATISFIED

I don't usually watch Hindi movies in cinema theaters because i am weak in understanding the Hindi language. But an exception was made for ABCD 2 (Anybody Can Dance ) as i still keep that passion for Dance and i did want to know how a" STEP UP " like franchise is developing in bollywood. This bollywood movie directed by Choreographer Remo D'Souza is satisfying for dance lovers but may be a bit let down for those who appreciate Cinema as a whole.

Story revolves around a dance crew who got labeled as " Cheaters " after performing some copied dance steps from a famous dance crew in a national famous dance program of India. After receiving insults from many people Suresh ( Varun Dhawan ) and crew decide to change their fortunes by taking part in World Hip Hop competition in Vegas , America. They happened to meet a choreographer Vishnu ( Prabhudev ) at a bar and begged him to become their choreographer. The events occurring thereafter constitutes the film.

This is mainly a dance film so i would like best dance performers being included in the film. The main actor Varun Dhawan has shown his acting abilities in films like Badhlapur but his dancing skills were still doubtful for me.Director Remo has done a good job by not including Varun in heavy steps and acrobatics but Varun's crumping styles were good enough.Shraddha Kapoor was a perfect miscast as she was below par in both acting and dancing .Her advanced steps while performing with others were easily noticeable at the beginning of the film. But the problem got solved when she was repalced by foreign dancer Lauren Gottlieb in the second half.Like in the prequel Lauren was awesome here also.Hip Hop suits her nicely with her perfect body figure and fine body movements.Dancer Dharmesh ( D ) was received with huge applauds from the audience.Other crew members were awesome.Other crews like German crew , Philippinos and the ladies only crew need special mentions.

Direction was okay to me.Script and dialogues ? Are they worth mentioning? Good cinematography.Songs aren't that good except for the dance sequences. BGM was good .

Final dance sequence wasn't good enough for a climax .They could have mixed some more beats other than mere traditional beats.More female dancers could have been included in the crew.Except for the final sequence , other sequences were good enough. The one with Charlie Chaplin dance style was superb.

Overall, dance section was okay for me.Many bad reviews were heard from critics , i even heard someone quoting if Remo D'Souza can direct then " Anybody Can Direct ". Apart from the story and script section , the film has its sequences that won't dissatisfy a dance lover.
