The trite love trope (they're best friends since childhood, but he's developed a crush on her) isn't taken in any new directions. The songs are bland pop and their staging never comes close to the creativity of "Glee." Finally, anyone who's seen even one episode of "Walking Dead" will have witnessed better zombie action. Kudos for such a daring, original concept, but sadly, nothing good came out of it. Expand

The songs are surprisingly catchy. Acting is great throughout, even if the film lurches violently at times between light-hearted and sombre. Production is very polished considering the (presumably) low budget. Admittedly there's nothing truly groundbreaking here: this is a film which plays on the clichés and pays homage to many of its influences (like Shaun of the Dead). But it does what it sets out to do well, and if you go expecting something imperfect but fun then it's well worth a watch and I happily recommend it. Expand

Not sure the "bif" guy character is any good at all. It's a good time. Expand

I personally hate all musicals, but there's no denying this film is pretty well done, the characters are appealing, and the story, though not particularly inventive, does hold together well enough for the zombie genre of films. Which is why I give the film a 7. The only other issue is whether you like tales centered mostly on high school students. If you liked Scouts' Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse then it's not a problem.

And, hey, it's only 93 minutes. Which is what it should be. Also, it's set around the Christmas holidays, which has nothing to do with anything except a few jokes.

Not a fan of the mixture but I can say it was funny enough.
Enough to make an impression. Not an everlasting impression but I can say that with its elements it worked enough.

I enjoyed the musical numbers and the fast paced zombie related action. It was a little dull at one point but once the plot pace gets going, its quite fun. Its set at Christmas time and so can be categorised as an anti-Christmas film, a bit like 'Bad Santa' or 'Die Hard' - neither is it sentimentally cheesy (well, one or two of the songs are but I felt they were more of a parody of other musical type films) nor typical family friendly viewing. The special effects aren't too bad either. Yes, I'd recommend this film. Expand

I wanted to like this movie. I'm a huge fan of horror/comedy and I sparingly enjoy musicals. Not happening. The plot itself boring and pedestrian. The songs are preening teenage pop abortions without a ounce of humor or wit. A missed opportunity on multiple levels. Expand

Just for the creativity and songs this movie gets a six. It even takes a departure from the usual musical troupes.

FYI I barely ever give 10/10 scores The film is an absolute joy from start to finish. Even if some of the gore is questionabley awful.
