First of all, I think all the people who have made comments should be paid to be film critics, why can't everyone just watch a movie and not pick out its defects? Sure, its not close to being one of the best films of its genre, but eh, watch it alone and in the dark late at night and it will have its effect, especially if you head into it not knowing anything about the actual documented case.… Expand

Not a typical horror flick, An American Haunting gives a creepy interesting look at hauntings in the 19th century. Despite being heavily cut short, Sutherland and Spacek both give more than adequate performances.

Writer and director Courtney Solomon has made a spine-chilling script and the effects in addition the cinematography is smooth. In case your wondering, this is based of a book by Brent Monahan ("The Bell Witch: An American Haunting") if your interested in reading the book go a head it's probably better then the movie. Grade C+… Expand

Kind of boring. It's a good plot and storyline. Nothing really to keep you interested.
