All The Boys Love Mandy Lane has a reason to go down as a VOD cheap horror flick, it also has a reason to go down as Jonathan Levine's worst films. In an era of sex and rock 'n' roll- All The Boys Love Mandy Lane is a horror mixed genre movie! There is sex and and nudity A LOT OF IT. and there is drugs, parties, romance and cheap blood effects with a slasher horror atmosphere. Of course, films like Hostel and Vacancy have tried this experience and have sadly failed in the making. But the product that Mandy Lane holds is that it's not scary at all. If you are a coward- never mind, bro. Amber Heard is hot, and all the other actors make it feel like a gongshow! Really man, horror slasher flicks like Scream and Halloween succeeded but why Mandy Lane? WHY!!!????? I really gave this a two because that ghoulish sex and blood feeling touched and AMBER HEARD'S ACTING. The verdict you say? Watch it ONLINE. Only if you're still psyched about drugs and sexual horror and lesbians. Expand

To put it simply, the movie is boring and the story wants to be a teen slasher from the 70s and 80s but it doesn't feel like putting in the effort--the twist ending is painfully obvious before the first teen gets slashed. Additionally, the film just looks sloppy. While I get they are going for the grindhouse, low-budget look but with an already lazy style and lifeless actors, it makes the film look cheap rather than an homage to something like "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Finally, the actors are just absolutely terrible. Amber Heard is lifeless and isn't providing any rhyme or reason for why her character Mandy Lane is so desired by every man who sees them. Heard thinks playing the part of a girl that everyone wants means just smiling sheepishly and playing with your hair but, in the end, she just looked like a cardboard cut-out that the rest of the actors just pretended was actually there...but the movie will try to compensate for that by constantly filming her in slo-mo and making sure the sun is shining behind her and I guess that means she's hot. In the end, "Mandy Lane" is just boring and its laziness is very apparent. Expand

It is a catalogue of bad actors reading from a bad script, performing formulaic death scenes. The more I watched, the more frustrated I became with the film, and I became even more frustrated with the modern-day horror genre as a whole.

The film conforms to the usual dull premise of any other horror film or slasher flick: a bunch of drugged-up, alcoholic, sex-obsessed sluts and man-whores, with occasionally one withdrawn character - usually and in this case female - who becomes the focal point of the piece. Each of the other characters are picked off one at a time. I mean, surely this isn't meant to be scary. We aren't supposed to feel sympathy for the characters. The film is designed in order to give the audience a big cheer when one of the sluts or man-whores meets his or her well-deserved demise. If the film was truly scary, it would feature well-meaning, innocent humans to whom bad things happen. But no, we have to sit and watch completely unlikeable people, whose stupidity and unpleasantness leads them to an end that nobody even cares about. What's the point?

On the somewhat positive side, this films offers an interesting twist towards the end of the film, before taking it one twist too far and driving the script back into nonsense, and the scenery certainly is beautiful. But that's it. And trust me, these two positives pale significantly in comparison to the vast list of negatives. Don't watch it.

This is, roughly, the theme of this film, where a teenager girl seduces several boys with rather dubious intentions. Nothing new, therefore. It's just another teen movie, full of sexual cues (direct or veiled), violence and stereotypical characters that exist only to die. What I don't understand is why Mandy Lane appears as an irresistible and seductive woman when, in fact, she is just a girl who loves to tease the boys. Do boys love being treated like idiots? The movie tries to surprise at the end with a plot twist, but the attentive viewer already foresaw it for some time. Amber Heard is excellent at her character and could have done better if she had received more dense and consistent material to work with. The rest of the cast is on the borderline between the acceptable and the mediocre. This film lacked a better development of the plot and the characters, so it all seems a bit meaningless. Expand
