I remember going to see it with my cousins, father and uncle in Colorado and I was just blown away. I thought Freddy, Nancy, Kristen and the rest of the dream warriors were so cool. Especially Taryn played by the amazing Jennifer Rubin (Bad Dreams). In this chapter Krueger targets the last of the Elm st. Children who have gone crazy and been put into a mental institution. Even though it was only released three years after the first Nancy is supposed to be like ten years older and a grad school therapist. A young Laurence Fishburne (Matrix) also stars. This is the entry where Freddy really became a pop villain. He's still dark but he has just a bit more humor. The kills are fantastical and involved. The movie is filled with solid performances all around especially from Robert Englund delivering a perfect balance, Heather Lagenkamp and a young wonderful Patricia Arquette. The movie is confidently directed by Chuck Russell (Blob "88"). Its definitely one of the best entries innovative, creative, smart and most of all entertaining.

Improvement On Two
The third film of this franchise is actually pretty good considering how mediocre the second one was.

My favorite out of the entire series. Nothing like going after a bunch of teens who are locked up in a psychiatric hospital for bad nightmares. Freddy has a field day with this one. Welcome to prime time ****

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors is a nice return to the franchise Nancy Thompson returns in the movie also L.T Donald Thompson returns also. We are introduced to Kristen Parker in the first 15 minutes she is having trouble sleeping like in the last 2 movies we had she has a nightmare so she goes to the hospital with the other kids while Nancy is trying to help the other kids and Dr. Neil Gordon is trying to help also while one of the patients does not want to help or care to help them alright so the good in this movie is pretty much all the characters I had zero problems with the characters Freddy is amazing like usual what I noticed that max character is the acter Laurence I was surprised he was in this the kills are cool like the tv kill was cool that was is my fav in this movie Robert Englund is great as feddy I can't imagin someone else being freddy as I learned the reboot was the Robert Englund which probably tanks that movie anyway Robert Englund the mixed elements Dr. Elizabeth is annoying all she is doing is not believing the right thing to do to take down freddy also the ending drags again I don't why so far every film I watched in this franchise it drags that is annoying So all round a very good sequel to the franchise So I give A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors an B+ Expand

The return of Nancy was a neat idea, though her character was still lacking in my opinion. Some of the nightmare scenes were freaking grotesque and were at times on par with the original's and technically the film is pretty amazing for it's time. Some of the newly introduced characters are very likable and have interestingly distinctive traits(like Jennifer Rubin as Taryn's drug problems and sassyness, Ken Sagoes as Kincaid's attitude and humour and Ira Heiden as Will's nerdyness and quirkyness). The film's quality suffers a bit from its era, the style of the 80's is completely overcharging and takes away the tenseness(unlike in the original Nightmare on Elm Street, which had a sense of dread), which made me take it less seriously, but made it a bit more fun in a cheesy 80's movie kind of way - It has it's own sweet glamrock anthem for crying out loud.

My major gripes with the movie are that the ending is kinda dumb and a bit uninspired(except for the skeleton fight scene, that was great) and that Patricia Arquette and Heather Langenkamp(still) are not great leads. Lastly, a minor gripe, Freddy's morbid humour adds to his character as a pop-culture icon, but it takes away from his scariness.

TheI really liked this film, as it seemed to me a sequel that honors and resonates with the original film. In this film, Freddy Krueger goes back to attack the dreams of the Elm Street teens, but this time they're able to give him a fight. The film does not disappoint the franchise fans and brings everything that is required, including blood, gore and rather macabre scenes, especially towards the end.

The cast does its job satisfactorily. Robert Englund is impeccable in the role of the iconic villain, Heather Langenkamp is perfect for the protagonist and Craig Wasson, Patricia Arquette, Ken Sagoes and Rodney Eastman secure the most important supporting characters with confidence and reasonable results. It is not an exceptional work, there are failures and moments when the actors sound excessively cliché, but I think that some of those failures may be due to bad lines and dialogues, and not so much to the effort of the actors themselves.

Technically, it is a very well-made film and appears to have a lot of money invested. CGI and special effects are quite good and worked very well, especially the skeleton. Englund's make-up also looks more realistic and detailed than in other older films, and that makes it clearer, more disturbing and impactful. There is some room for pleasant black humor, but the film is genuinely tense and the suspense was built in a coherent and skillful manner. Dark cinematography with strong colors helps, at the right times, to accentuate this tension, and the soundtrack also plays an honorable role.

This is some kind of crazy mess. Not scary, not funny, not interesting. Picking up where NIGHTMARE 3 left off, we see the three surviving teenage Dream Warriors suddenly being plagued
in their dreams by the supposedly dead and buried Freddy (Robert Englund), who is now moving into new territory and invading the dreams of mousy teen Alice (Lisa Wilcox). What the child-killer doesn't anticipate, however, is that Alice begins taking on the strongest characteristics of her friends
and soon becomes a complete Dream Warrior blessed with impressive athletic prowess, physical strength, and intelligence.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors is a triquel from which I didn't expect anything. After watching the Freddy's Revenge sequel, expectations were minimal. After watching the Freddy's Revenge sequel, expectations were minimal. But A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors is surprising. First, there is a close connection with the original film, the main character is again Nancy Thompson, and the film again shifted the focus from hard murders to an atmosphere of fear of mixing reality with sleep. We can say that the film has returned to the roots of the original source. A plus to the freshness was the change of the main action of the film and the expansion of the number of main characters. All this together makes A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors a great youth slasher. The movie looks much more pleasant than the sequel. Expand
