I love horror movies and A Demon Within definitely did not disappoint. It’s a classic exorcist/possession film that was reminiscent of movies such as “The Exorcist” and “The Conjuring” yet still managed to remain fresh. It’s a classic exorcist/possession film that was reminiscent of movies such as “The Exorcist” and “The Conjuring” yet still managed to remain fresh. This terrifying film is full of so many twists and turns that it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. My favorite part of this movie is the strong relationship between two of the main characters played by Charlene Amoia and Clint Hummel. Their undeniable chemistry contributed a lot to the film and added a very relatable aspect to this otherwise suspenseful and chilling film. I highly recommend to all scary movie lovers!… Expand

The film follows Julia and Charlotte a mother and daughter who move out to a small town unbeknownst to them, the house they purchased is haunted by a demon. Julia becomes romantically involved with Jeremy, the doctor of the town, who has to confront his own past to help save Charlotte. The eyes of the demon are uniquely shown threw the lenses of the camera’s, making the film tenser. The film ends on a climatic plot twist no one could see coming. I would recommend this movie to any horror movie lover. It is one you won’t want to miss!… Expand

Weird occurrences begin the first night that mother/daughter duo Julia and Charlotte enterBased in a small town in Illinois, A Demon Within sets the scene with an idyllic space. Nothing bad ever happened in an idyllic space, right? WRONG! Weird occurrences begin the first night that mother/daughter duo Julia and Charlotte enter their new (old) house in seemingly sweet Crestwick, with odd power flickers and strange dreams. A menacing looking rash soon appears on young Charlotte with no explanation, calling for a visit to the town’s hot Dr. Miller, who seems to be withholding something. What exactly is that something? Well, you’ll have to watch this indie possession thrill ride to find out. I recommend this one for any fans of movies such as Insidious or the Conjuring.… Expand

Set in the sleepy town of Crestwick, Illinois, Justin LaReau and Ayush Banker’s knockout horror film gives an entirely new meaning to the word fear. When college-bound Charlotte’s body is taken over by the malevolent demon Nefas, it is up to those around her to enter into a terrifying battle of strength and faith in order to get her back. The outstanding cast does amazing work in bringing such an innovative screenplay to life, hitting all of the right cords in the process. A Demon Within is undoubtedly a movie deserving of recognition for its excellent execution of the craft of horror storytelling.… Expand

While the possession narrative is not necessarily new, the film doesn’t simply focus on the possession alone, and instead focuses on howA Demon Within is an enjoyable independent horror film that clearly has a lot of passion put behind it. While the possession narrative is not necessarily new, the film doesn’t simply focus on the possession alone, and instead focuses on how various relationships are affected by the possession itself. There is also a refreshing lack of jump scares, as the film instead relies on constructing a horror ambience through lighting and soundtrack aesthetics rather than jump scares to instill fear into the audience. Horror fans or those with a horror hankering should go see the film for themselves.… Expand
