I don't know. This is not a terrible film, but I think it's not that far from being misery porn.

I liked it better 'The White Tiger' —Ramin Bahrani, the director of that one, produced '7 Prisoners.' Both were taken by Netflix, but theI don't know. This is not a terrible film, but I think it's not that far from being misery porn.

I liked it better 'The White Tiger' —Ramin Bahrani, the director of that one, produced '7 Prisoners.' Both were taken by Netflix, but the approach is very different. While 'The White Tiger' tackles corruption and social hierarchy through satire, '7 Prisoners' takes itself very seriously.

'The White Tiger' is not perfect, but its tone is highly engaging. The drama around '7 Prisoners' is mortifying and somber, but sometimes is solely based on the suffering of the victims, and not that much on the protagonist's struggle, whose moral dilemma is not fully explored.… Expand
