This compelling dissection of a marriage gone bad offers superb acting and sublime directing. Viewers who don´t like it obviously are dead in the brain and between their legs.

It is a blow of fresh air in the middle of thousands of action American films. In the beginning (end) of the film a character opens the window to see the Mediterranean Sea and you can feel the wind. There are no bullets, no car persecutions, no drugs, and no heroes. You have only to find the characters reason for their unnatural behavior. Good to share, and discuss ( or argue) with a friend. This is a somewhat bittersweet film. I imagine that quite a number of people, perhaps some middle aged people, may be able to relate to whats depicted on screen - the various highs and lows of the relationship between Marion and Gilles. The performances are good and its, in general, a good film but I'm not sure I can say too much about it, other than its nice to see the relationship working its way backward as it were, with the chronology (in terms of the relationship) working backwards, so by the end of the film, we're witness to the start of it. Its a somewhat thoughtful and perhaps, in a way, nostalgic watch. I thought it was a good film, so I suppose I would recommend it yes. Expand
