"31" is your typical Rob Zombie film that if you've seen one film, then you seen it all.

- Over the top gore - The writing is trash - The editing is awful - Sheri Moon Zombie is a terrible actress - It's predicable - Lawrence

So yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of Rob Zombie. The only movie I like from Rob is "The Devil Rejects" and that's it. There's something about Robs work that doesn't click with me, but hey, that's just me.

But what made this movie watchable is Richard Brake as Doom head. He was pretty damn amazing in this and at times I saw a little bit of the Joker in him. Well, he should have been the Joker and not Leto, because he's madness feels natural and not forced. He's violent and he loves every second of it. Even with he's opening monologue, how it was shot and the B&W look, it was everything that a movie can do to get you as an audience member engaged. It's too bad that he's not in the movie for that long as we are stuck with characters that nobody cares for.

I guess less is more.

A basic blood and gore film with minimal plot and character development. The usual stupid characters do the usual stupid things to get into bad situations. A unique story line gets the film some extra points.

Though seemingly identical to other Rob Zombie flicks, 31 has just enough of the over-the-top gore and action to interest hardcore fans of the infamous director.

31 has its moments. The first scene with the popcorn dialogue is fantastic, but the rest is just disappointing. I like Zombie both as a filmmaker and a musician but here it just didn't feel like he was trying at all, which supposedly is true,31 has its moments. The first scene with the popcorn dialogue is fantastic, but the rest is just disappointing. I like Zombie both as a filmmaker and a musician but here it just didn't feel like he was trying at all, which supposedly is true, if I remember correctly he admitted that he just slapped this movie together as cheap as possible to make a quick buck. It's not all bad though, some of the characters are kinda entertaining with some memorable scenes. It's entertaining, but the lack of effort on almost everyone's part really brings 31 down for me. It's kinda fun if you know what you're getting into. Expand

With a thin plot and bad character development, 31 comes as a somewhat boring slasher film but still somehow falls on the better side of Rob Zombie’s discography. I mean it had its moments but I don’t think I’ll be revisiting this one anytimeWith a thin plot and bad character development, 31 comes as a somewhat boring slasher film but still somehow falls on the better side of Rob Zombie’s discography. I mean it had its moments but I don’t think I’ll be revisiting this one anytime soon, similar to most of the Rob Zombie joints. Your know what your getting into when you start watching and you’ll like it if you like this stuff but if not then hey, why’d you watch it in the first place.

5/10 Jay x
