This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was ninety minutes of my life that I will never get back. The director better be embarrased by just how uninspired their film is from beginning to end. If not for the somewhat well-directed camerawork and a few interesting shots, I would've given it a one. It is a perfect example of how eploiting shock plagues the modern horror genre. Enjoy spending 70 minutes watching people shower to establish one instance of adultery, followed by another 20 minutes infuriated at how poorly written the characters dialogue/behavior is when the climax leads to the exact ending you'd expect from a movie of this quality. Clichés, clichés, clichés! That's how many of them you're going to find in 13 Cameras, but there should be a 14th camera (Me) so I can quickly judge on how boring this horror flick is.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've never seen so much build up for so little payoff. No meaningful struggle, no thrilling conclusion, just a giant middle finger for those who were unlucky enough to suffer through this **** show. If bad writing were a crime someone would be in prison for this. Expand

This was one of the grossest, most violating movies I've ever seen with absolutely no payoff. There is just a disgusting guy who gets to violate women and is never caught or held accountable. There's always that fine line between "yellow" and "red" on a Metacritic review... and if it weren't for the atrocious acting (by pretty much anyone besides the main character/creep), this would have been a yellow. But the first 40 minutesThere's always that fine line between "yellow" and "red" on a Metacritic review... and if it weren't for the atrocious acting (by pretty much anyone besides the main character/creep), this would have been a yellow. But the first 40 minutes of 13 cameras almost insist red is the clear choice here. Anyway, let's talk about the pros... the creep factor is well-portrayed, again only thanks to the lead actor. There were even a few laughs to be had, and quite a bit of tension towards the end. Bag all that up with an ending that smacks you upside the head, and you actually think for a moment... hey. This might be something special.

Then you try to sit through the first 40 minutes again, and realize this would have been better off as a short film.

Neville Archambault everyone. The real star of the show.

Neville Archambault everyone. The real star of the show.

If I have to be honest, I've never seen anyone like him before. Not wanting to sound rude when it comes to appearance, but he looks like a mutant, and there's no other way of describing it. He plays the creepy landlord very well.

The movie itself is...average. The movie never seems to go away. And why do I feel there was more than 13 cameras.

13 Cameras is pretty much your run-of-the-mill stalker thriller, though it gets points for lead actress Brianne Moncrief's performance and its ballsy finale.
