As a huge fan of Shameless, I really enjoyed seeing Justin Chatwin’s role as the charming lost lover in 1Night. Paired with the talented Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) this film allowed these two to exercise their romantic drama skills. Set in an Arabian Nights themed hotel in LA, 1Night centers around an unlikely young couple falling for each other, and an older couple trying to resolve their issues. Fresh and unpredictable, I really enjoyed how this film could spin relatable topics, such as heartbreak and falling in love, in a way that was not cliché or overplayed.… Expand

I loved this movie! It was the perfect balance between unique and relatable – it completely came into its own while still being able to relate to people of all ages. What really stuck out to me was the phenomenal cast. I wasn’t too familiarI loved this movie! It was the perfect balance between unique and relatable – it completely came into its own while still being able to relate to people of all ages. What really stuck out to me was the phenomenal cast. I wasn’t too familiar with Anna Camp who plays one of the protagonists; all I knew her from was Pitch Perfect. But she totally filled her role and had me sympathizing with her the entire movie. Justin Chatwin who plays her husband is a great complement to her. And the younger couple, played by Isabelle Furhman and Kyle Allen, are both stars I want to see more of in the future! I thought everyone had killer chemistry and shined in this one.… Expand

The younger couple were once close childhood friends, overcome the awkwardness that is difference in social status that had driven them apart. The older couple makes one last attempt to put aside their differences and disappointments to get back together. Excitement grows as the movie unfolds and a huge plot twist caps the movie off with a bang. I would recommend watching it.… Expand

When I originally headed to the theater to see 1 Night I expected just another romantic movie. However, I was pleasantly surprised it totally changed the way I viewed romantic films. Director and writer Minhal Baig has a unique storytellingWhen I originally headed to the theater to see 1 Night I expected just another romantic movie. However, I was pleasantly surprised it totally changed the way I viewed romantic films. Director and writer Minhal Baig has a unique storytelling format and the characters she was able to create were genuinely down to earth making it extremely easy for the audience to step into their shoes. Baig was able to do this so well that when Anna Camp’s character, Elizabeth, felt heartbreak it hit a cord in my own heart. The more that I watched the harder it became for me to separate my emotions with thier own. This film relates perfectly with everyone because we have all felt heartbreak and fallen in love and this film tapes directly into that.… Expand

At the core of the film are the 4 principle characters (Justin Chatwin, Anna Camp, Isabelle Fuhrman and Kyle Allen) as a1 Night is a refreshing new film with an interesting concept that really expands what we can be done with romance films. At the core of the film are the 4 principle characters (Justin Chatwin, Anna Camp, Isabelle Fuhrman and Kyle Allen) as a set of couples looking for affirmation and love. The actors drive this film to impressive narrative lengths and explore what it means to love and how to express it. Imagine The Spectacular Now with a tinge of Blue Valentine, and also a surprising unexpected science fiction element that I won’t spoil. While we have unintelligent fare at the cinema like Fifty Shades Darker, a film like 1 Night just proves again that we have to turn to independent cinema to find really fresh and interesting stories.… Expand

Anna Camp and Justin Chatwin knocked it out of the park with the movie 1 Night. This film made me emotional yet had me laughing at the same time. This film made me emotional yet had me laughing at the same time. The young and upcoming actors in this, Isabelle Fuhrman and Kyle Allen gave great performances as well. This film involves a side by side storyline of two couples embracing the ups and downs of love. It felt very familiar watching this film, it reminded me of when I was a young teen going through innocent awkward situations with girls that I liked. Couples all around should check this out for this Valentine’s Day. It could give you and your partner a deeper connection in the end!… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First time film director Minhal Baig did an excellent job in writing and bringing together a great idea for this film, 1Night. The story line follows the notable cast, Anna Camp, Justin Chatwin, Isabelle Fuhrman, and Kyle Allen, for one night to tell a compelling love story that follows a parallel timeline. The two couples playing as the main characters represent young vs old, high school heartaches vs broken marriages, and cynical vs optimistic. There are authentic and relatable feelings that are provoked throughout this film which make for a perfect romantic drama. People can sympathize with the roles of these characters because of the realistic heartfelt moments that many of them have experienced themselves. Something I personally loved about this movie were all the quotable one liners. If you're one for a chemical romance but are tired of the corny classics usually released then this might be more up your alley.… Expand

The director, Minhal Baig’s choice in crossing the love stories between inter-generational couples, brought a light to the casts performance skills. I would describe their character progression as authentic, organic and incredibly relate-able. Watching the younger couple work through their teen awkward stages, and develop their character relationships, left me in awe with Isabelle Fuhrman and Kyle Allen’s performances. As for the performances of Anna Camp and Justin Chatwin, I could empathize with the stress and strain of being in a long term relationship. I felt as though I was watching an arguing couple, through the eyes of a therapist, listening to real life issues. My heart was pushed and pulled by their representation, and I can only imagine how this will enhance their careers as performers. The plot of this romantic drama is original and uniquely crafted, unlike your typical Valentine’s Day chick flick. If you have a chance, I highly recommend this wonderful watch.… Expand

I was looking for a movie to help me get in the mood for Valentine’s Day and this definitely got the job done. 1Night was about two high school teenagers trying to build a connection together after their prom night while a troublesome older couple pitch an attempt to rebuild theirs. The characters do an amazing job at representing the actualities of a relationship in both the initial and maturing stages. That is because I believe this film is cross generational and relatable to just about everybody because the cast portrays the usual highs and lows of a relationship which many can draw similarities to. I thought this film was very enjoyable and I recommend watching it.… Expand

The dialogue hits close to home for anyone who has ever been in a relationship. Furthermore, in the current field of regurgitated Hollywood material, this independent film was able to break the mold and come up with a very original story. Without giving away the big twist, I will say that it goes in a very unexpected direction. For these reasons, 1 Night is a must-see even if the romance genre is only on the periphery of your cinematic interest.… Expand
