A solid game in its own right, with gameplay that continues to entertain long after the novelty of driving around Springfield has worn off. [Dec 2001, p.105]
  2. It doesn't suck right out of the box - but it doesn't do the series justice. If you're a huge fan of the show, the X-Box version is slightly better than the PS2 version, but don't expect to see the engine taxed.
  3. A must for Simpsons fans, and is fun in short bursts, but this kind of game is better suited to the instant gameplay environment of the arcade. You might be miffed when you've seen all there is after a few hours of play.
  4. Even with it's oversights, traveling around Springfield has never felt so real or alive and players (fans) dying to know what the town really looks like won't be disappointed.
  5. If you're a Crazy Taxi or Simpsons fanatic, this game will definitely appeal to you. If you don't care much about either, don't bother.

While the gameplay isn't going to grab you, your Simpsons geekiness will be totally fulfilled in the amazing detail given to the tons of referenced jokes and buildings from over a decade of the show.
  7. While "The Simpsons" is often entertaining and enjoyable, The Simpsons Road Rage for the Xbox is not.

Fails to inspire but quasi-amuses. [Jan 2002]
  9. Isn't that bad, but like the unpopular kid in school, it tries so hard to be something that it's not. In this case, it's trying to be "Crazy Taxi."
  10. The game is arguably too simple for its own good and the result is a tedious and unimaginative gaming experience.
  11. If you enjoy The Simpsons and you enjoy driving like a maniac, you'll enjoy this game, for a while. But the gimmick gets way too old way too fast to be satisfying to even the most rabid fans of the show.
  12. I was hugely un-impressed. It just becomes very repetitive and boring after the first few hours, because you realize that it will never improve.
  13. One word, used by Homer throughout, best describes the action in Road Rage: "Bor-ing."
  14. I felt that the game was missing depth and dynamics that keep the player on their toes and interested. I was disappointed mainly with the audio and the limited maps and areas to play on.

Lacks any sort of range whatsoever. It also lacks fun. [Jan 2002, p.96]

Significant only as the most shameless incident of design burglary in recent memory. [Jan 2002, p.35]
  17. Electronic Gaming Monthly
    37
The throwaway storyline, endless loading times, small environments and barely Dreamcast-quality graphics are instant turn-offs. [Jan 2002, p.230]

At the time I didn’t know what Crazy Taxi was, pretty much Crazy Taxi slapped on with The Simpsons, but the difference is that Crazy Taxi keeps you playing and looks good drives fast. This game looking back now is just okay. It’s an average Crazy Taxi Simpsons game where you take passengers from point A to B. Only difference is that this is not Crazy Taxi and not as fun as Crazy Taxi, just ain’t. Average Full Review »

I can understand about it getting boring, but the perseverance to get 1 million is staggering, I don't like hard games so I'm not trying to get hit and run. Overall, great game. Full Review »

The Simpsons are funny as always, but you will tire of the same catchphrases over and over. Overall I did enjoy this game, but you won't miss out on much if you choose to skip over it. I'll give it a 7 because it IS fun the first run through but it gets old quickly and it isn't superbly executed, there were definitely some bugs in there. Full Review »
