The emulation of the arcade games are perfectly nailed and it's a shame that it was wasted on such a poor game selection.
-
The emulation is spot-on, but the package is lacking in heavy polish and fun. And it's ten bucks more than other classic arcade packs with far fewer titles on the disc. Cut that price by half and maybe we'll talk.
-
But retro compilations are practically a dime a dozen these days, and next to the likes of "Namco Museum Battle Collection" and "Capcom Classics Collection," the games enshrined here show both their age and a general lack of inspiration.
-
Most of these games could be replicated on the GBA, certainly the DS. There's no reason to get this package especially for the Xbox. It's like slumming to waste a great console on these old hackneyed games.
-
One of the few collections on the market that I can honestly say isn't worth picking up. The majority of the games found within the package are bland to awful and the few gems included aren't really all that fantastic.
-
Remember playing awesome quarter-eaters like Swimmer and Pinball Action? Neither do we. Which means all you old farts can go back to chasing kids off your front lawns instead of playing this game.
-
Next to Silkworm and Ninja Gaiden, these efforts are just warm-up practice for the real thing. Even at a budget price, spend accordingly.
-
Overall, it's just a confusing, poorly conceived product that should set off a consumer's "money grab" senses.
-
That almost all of these 11 games look like tired also-rans merely compounds the feeling that this is one of the most cynical cash-in releases ever conceived. Avoid.
