-
A dynamic, well-crafted combat flight simulator. The action is stunning, and the game is an absolute joy to play.
-
A must own for fans of the space combat genre, or Star Wars fans.
-
The hook of the Xbox version is that the multiplayer missions are playable from the beginning, and new games like Tag and Detonator Drop have been added.
-
From the ships to the explosions to the environments, you'll see more and better textures, and you'll definitely feel a more completeness in the graphics that was missing on the PS2.
-
One of the best, if not the best, console Star Wars space combat games to date.
-
Next Generation MagazineIts a blast to play while it lasts. [Jan 2002, p.35]
-
I suppose that my favorite feature is the lack of performance issues thanks to the Xbox's more than ample hardware.
-
The LucasArts console curse is officially over. Oh yeah. Jar Jar is nowhere to be found.
-
Game InformerStill solid, but it's no "Rogue Leader." [Dec 2001, p.109]
-
The additional multiplayer modes, bonus missions and new unlockable ships, even if it is Darth Maul's, dont add enough novelty for anybody that's played this game on the PS2 already. It's a similar dilemma to "Tony Hawk 2x."
-
A solid game with a few extras thrown in for good measure. Despite its arcade style of play and limited depth, this is one game that can be enjoyed by most everyone throughout the galaxy.
-
Starfighter SE will not astound you with mind-blowing graphics and innovation, but as a wise man once said, it's "a reasonably solid debut title."
-
Despite its lack or originality and ultimately disappointing graphics, Star Wars Starfighter: Special Edition remains a decent, but far from great game.
-
The graphical tweaks are nothing to completely disregard, but on the other hand, they're nothing for Xbox owners to brag about either.
-
Everyone wants to be an X-Wing pilot, don't they. It's one of the things that sets man apart from the animals.
-
Official Xbox MagazineThe jaggies are gone/ The framerate is much faster/ Still no Rogue Leader. [Haiku Review - Feb 2002, p.80]
-
Ultimately, I left Starfighter SE with mixed feelings like one of the characters at the end of the game. He has done his share of the fighting and would simply want to walk off the stage.
-
Simply an average game that happens to have a Star Wars license, and that's not enough to make it worth a purchase. Its worst problem is that it can be repetitive and boring.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyIts not that its ugly, but compared to most Xbox games, it looks ugly, but compared to most Xbox games it looks like the boring girl next door and makes the GameCubes Rogue Leader seem like Pamela Anderson. [Jan 2002, p.231]
-
netjakWith a very loose control system and a steep, steep learning curve, this game is for Hardcore (capital H) Star Wars fans. Any other fan of any other game will be easily bored.
-
It's not quite as special as the title suggests, but it has its moments.
-
Xbox Nation MagazineThe ship itself is straight clunky. It feels like everything in the game is fast, except you. [Jan 2002, p.5]

MutatedkangarooJun 4, 2005This game is pretty good. IT has decent replay value, but it is nothing compared to Halo.
