It's a fun game, but like I said before, don't go in expecting a boxing sim. I would put this more in the same vein as Ready to Rumble except without all the ridiculous moves and boxers of Ready to Rumble.
-
The true showstopper however is the facial damage. The best yet seen in any boxing game, cuts, bruises, swelling, and abrasions form realistically on fighters faces as the match progresses.
-
A game that does its license proud. It's the most complete boxing game to come out recently.
-
Combining slick graphics, beautiful voice-overs, a great single player experience and a wide array of punches, characters and arenas, Rocky categorizes itself as one of the best boxing games ever created.
-
To our delight, Rage has done a wonderful job of putting the movie into game form, and at the same time has made a game that is actually good.
-
Great gameplay and incredible movie nostalgia.
-
The character models look scarily authentic and the damage simply has to be seen to be believed.
-
Even though it'll be too demanding for some, Rocky currently represents the best boxing title on the market. And our prediction for the last fight in the game? Pain. [Edge]
-
Perhaps the most competent boxing game we've come across in a long while, if not ever. It manages to be a worthy film tie-in that remains supremely playable and strangely compulsive.
-
The problem is that while the moves are smooth, the response time of some punches can be somewhat delayed (shades of "Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing") before they make an actual contact.
-
A definite treat for Rocky fans that comes up a little short as a boxing sim.
-
The main mode of the game that allows you to relive the past five Rocky films is disappointingly short, especially when you factor in the cheap-shot facet of the gameplay mechanics.
