A few blemishes aside, there are just too many fun race modes to participate in.
-
Game InformerIt's the same excellent-looking title that we saw on PS2 last month, featuring even better texturing and fewer jaggies on the Xbox. [Jan 2003, p.114]
-
The floaty feel of your car, along with the wacky physics keep the game from being any deeper than a petri dish, but it can enjoyed in brief spurts.
-
Its actually one of the more enjoyable arcade racers available on Xbox. It looks good, plays well and is stacked with options.
-
Cheat Code CentralIt's certainly an interesting take and one that hasn't been featured in very many video games.
-
The thing that really grabs the gamers attention is the look of the tracks in Rally Fusion. They are simply a joy to look at and I found myself racing around and around just to see what pops up next.
-
Official Xbox MagazineIt's tasty and filling, but hardly haute cuisine. [Feb 2003, p.75]
-
The game has scope. And so another question pops into your mind: What exactly has been sacrificed to accommodate this? The answer: A young girl, a goat and, unfortunately for Xbox owners, some technical proficiency.
-
Play MagazineA deep, gorgeous, somewhat alternative view of the Rally genre, Climax Motorsports' Rally Fusion has a lot going for it. [Jan 2003, p.78]
-
Its wide selection of options is often plagued by repetition, and is confusing to navigate because of a poor interface.
-
RFs biggest speed bump on its way past Mediocrity Street is the hard-to-figure-out license and Race of Champions mode.
-
One thing that is sorely lacking in Rally Fusion is an onscreen map.
-
Xbox Nation MagazineAs an arcade racer set in the rally universe, this ain't half bad. [Feb/Mar 2003, p.87]
-
I had a hard time pulling myself away from the RoC mode, even though my instincts were telling me I was tired of playing it. It has that kind of affect on you, even though it's only a slightly above average race engine.
-
It just got boring after a while. This game has some strong points, but its missing some essential depth in certain areas.
-
While being well-coded, it just doesn't offer the excitement which should come with the Race of Champions.
