  1. If you're looking for a mech title that isn't quite like most others out there - or just a fun action title, perhaps - do not pass this up.

Ruthlessly hunting down other mechs in Stealth mode becomes the favored approach in the heat of battle, and makes for amazingly fun, intense gameplay. [Winter 2002, p.96]
  3. PhC really grows on you, the level of customisation really shines through and gives this game a level of replaybility that’s rarely seen.
  4. One very addictive and most enjoyable game to play for both the battles and the huge number of possibilities for your mechs.

It's easily worthy of a spot alongside the best giant-robot games ever. [Nov 2002, p.300]

The fighting part of the game itself is good and quite fun to do, as it’s not to difficult to learn how to play, but will take a while before you’re up and fighting with the area rankers.
  7. 80
With a slick visual style and fast-paced, finger-banging combat, it’s an impressive display of power and polish.
  8. When you get down to the nitty gritty it seems that the chit-chat is what makes the game and the whole “mech aspect” was more of an afterthought.
  9. 75
Offers a nice range of accessible and hardcore mech battling but comes up a notch below what we were expecting.
  10. The game could've benefited from a greater number of arenas, a more diverse variety of scoobees, and more gameplay modes.
  11. Game Informer

It's a cool idea and it looks fantastic, but it's just not that much fun to play. [Jan 2003, p.112]
  12. If you're looking for solid, addictive gameplay, lots of customizing, good graphics and interesting audio, this underdog might surprise you.

Probably one of the longest games for me to ever have finished which can be both a good and bad thing. The music was strange. There was no real story, but it was still quite a fun game. It wouldn't cost much to get this game off E-bay, but I suggest anyone who like trying different games just to have a look at this one Full Review »

Lets hope there's a sequel with all that in it! As it is the game is very addictive and a LOT of fun, once you get past the mostly senseless dialogue between battles. Full Review »

Hours of mech customization and days of mech destruction. Somehow, the AI opponents are actually good, but playing with friends is better. 9/10 would buy an OG xbox to play it again. Full Review »
