Love this game! Great graphics, great ball physics, new/cool swing. Great game for friends getting together having a few cold ones and playing some golf. Only down side is the limited number of courses (3). At least the characters don't have giant heads.

Much more fun than I expected, with a healthy number of events and unlockables.

I actually liked the much maligned control system. I like having to move the control stick back and then forward, as it more closely resembles a golf swing then the traditional button/power meter combo. That said, it really sucks how much the ball rolls each time -- you can't even try to land the ball on the green, as it will surely roll past the pin right into the rough. 3 courses I actually liked the much maligned control system. But overall, it's a pretty entertaining game experience. Expand

This game has incredible graphics but its too bad the control style is brutal. It also sucks that the ball never seems to stop rolling after it lands. Hot Shots 3 for PS2 is the way to go.

Game play is great - and quite realistic (can be just as frustrating as the real thing!) Swing control is well done and can cause a hook or slice. Unlocking can get a little tedious because after you unlock a good set of clubs, you only have them for the one character you accomplished it with. Everyone ends up being the same character in a multiplayer game for that reason. "White trash" Game play is great - and quite realistic (can be just as frustrating as the real thing!) Certainly fun to work towards mastering the game. As far as a golf game goes, I would recommend it to most people. The game gets better as you improve your clubs, your control, your accuracy, etc. Forget worrying about composure because you can always beat up your caddy to improve that. I've got LOTS of hours tied up in this game because it's not as serious as other golf games and it's relatively easy to start for the beginner (I actually like it better than Tiger Woods golf because of its relaxed atmosphere). If you don't like the real game of golf, this game is definitely for you! Expand

The golf is too difficult for a party game style title. the graphics aren't very great either. but i like the concept quite a bit. outlaw volleyball is def the better outlaw game.

Decent first try and but only 3 courses and you end up beating your caddie every other hole, gets boring. stopped playing it and went back to hot shots golf 3 (ps2).

Not a bad game, plays very well similar to real golf. Tour play is a must so you can improve your skills. Not worth $50 but a good buy used.

Outlaw Golf can be played and thoroughly enjoyed on the couch. [Fall 2002, p.121]
  2. It makes you laugh and frustrates in equal measure and that is surely the games main problem, for every yin it has a yang and never reaches the sum of its parts.
  3. A very fast arcade-style game that is positively overflowing with character.
