Live 07 won't blow your mind, as many of the changes from last year are of limited value, but it's certainly worth a look if you like your basketball games a little up-tempo.
-
The bottom line is that NBA Live 07 is a pretty darned good hoops sim - once you adjust the wonky default sliders. Without it, the shooting doesn't give an inch, no matter how well you time your release.
-
With developers shifting their focus on next-gen consoles, we're left with a rehash of last season's efforts, albeit with minor changes here and there.
-
The game speed is a disappointment. Hit turbo and you don't turbo anything. The controls are fine, but don't feel as fluid as they could – especially when you look at the reactive control scheme of other team games like EA's NHL franchise.
-
If you're a casual player looking to throw down like your favorite superstars, or you really loved last year's game, NBA Live is still the pick of the litter. More refined, strategy-minded tastes are again urged to go with the 2K series.
-
A solid game of basketball, but not one worth your money if you have Live 06.
-
NBA Live 07 is a step backward for the franchise.
-
A severe disappointment to fans of the genre. While EA has added many of the features that were missing from last year's offering, there are still too many issues that need to be ironed out, including the animations, the flow, the online gameplay, and the challenge.
