Game InformerA rookie with solid fundamentals. [Apr 2002, p.82]
-
Just about manages to deliver the goods. If youre after a solid simulation of the sport of basketball then you could do a great deal worse than this.
-
It became apparent to me after thorough play-time that Microsoft fell short with this title.
-
The AI - it ain't great. Computer players don't react much like their real-life counterparts and don't often run convincing plays. The only real sign of intellect at work is towards the end of the game, when the CPU will intentionally foul or bomb three pointers if it's losing.
-
It has all the necessary fundamentals intact, but a general lack of polish and a long list of annoying quirks make it difficult to recommend.

Xbox Nation MagazineThe AI in Inside Drive is AWOL. [Spring 2002, p.91]
-
The two-man commentary is frequent, but Marques Johnsons color jabber starts out funny only to get downright stupid fast.
-
Obviously, the full season is the mode most fans will run for, but the other modes are the icing on the cake that keep you coming back for more after you've won the championship, and their absence here is disappointing.
