By far the hardest rocking vampire versus elf game out there.
-
While the difficulty level won't be for all gamers out there, it contains a great wealth of RTS elements combined with being able to rip through armies with your squadrons.
-
Edge MagazineHowever unchanged its engine might be, Kingdom remains one of the few shining instances of Eastern craftsmanship applied to the Xbox. Once its addition of custom battles and bolstered online modes is coupled to its undeniably generous campaign, this ongoing road to fruition readily justifies its toll. [Nov 2005, p.106]
-
This is a rental title, plain and simple.
-
Beyond the unusually attractive RTS gameplay variety of melee and strategy, and the advanced interaction levels granted to the game's main cast of characters, Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes doesn't quite achieve its own ambitions.
-
The really sad thing about Heroes is that during the seemingly few times when everything works right, this is actually a pretty darn fun game.
-
While there's over 50+ hours of gameplay to be had over the 50+ campaign missions, Heroes is basically a replica of Crusaders with extra online modes.
-
High difficulty, poor construction, and annoying audio make this game a rental, at best, for all but the most hardcore of real-time strategy gamers.
-
Unfortunately, due to the irritating camera, steep learning curve and lengthy missions, Gamestyle can only recommend Heroes to the most avid of strategy enthusiasts.
-
I couldn't get past the bad spelling, lack of save ability and the general frustration. For some reason Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes just gave me very negative feelings.
-
AceGamezThe amount of cumbersome game elements, flaws and omissions I've experienced while playing, plus some ridiculously hard missions and repeat ad nauseum trial and error gameplay, bog down what could have been a much more streamlined and user-friendly experience.
-
netjakGiven that this came out less than a year after KUF: C, this game feels like a mere expansion pack or a patch with a full game price tag. There's not a lot of development in regards to the characters or story.
-
For a late generation title on the Xbox, the graphics fall short. Textures bleed together and the enemy character animations are too cloned.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyThe meltdown that results when too many characters join the fray and the camera freaks out often renders the game unplayable. [Nov 2005, p.150]
-
There are certainly the trappings of an epic fantasy game here, but lack of attention to latecomers to the series and horrid pacing and voice acting drag this game down to something that's fun to play if you can get the story out of the way and can get a solid grasp on the control scheme.
