Graphics, control, and sound all perform excellently without hiccups of any kind.
-
Brilliantly designed, the waves and riders are appropriately the highlights, as the animations are smooth for both, and every wave's approach is unique enough to keep you entertained for as long as the increasingly sprawling levels of the Tony Hawk games.
-
A well-designed surf game, the best there is. What I particularly like about it is Treyarch's intelligent focus on the sport of surfing, instead of the tacky arcade tricks like adding ducks, turtles and other silly objectives.
-
KSPS is different, its fresh, its fun! Sure, it has its similarities to the Tony Hawk series, but it IS NOT some simple rehash with a surf board. The game makes you feel like a surfer, even though most of us are sitting on our asses only wishing wed know what that life would be like.
-
While it may not capture the "feel" of surfing quite as well as its closest competitor, it makes up for it with better wave models and the incredible number of actions to perform on each wave.
-
Responsive control, consistently good visuals, and diverse gameplay will ensure that most anyone will end up enjoying this game.
-
Xbox Nation MagazineIt's the curse of making a reasonable, realistic surfing game - it just doesn't offer a very compelling videogame experience. [Fall 2002, p.120]
