The single player experience isn't bad and is fun while it lasts, but the multiplayer is a totally different story. Most people will probably find it to be a tad confusing, and if they do get it, won't like it simply because of how they are setup.
-
Some slow down, a questionable camera, a nasty control glitch, and the excessive back tracking seriously hampers the overall gameplay experience.
-
Pelaaja (Finland)We can recommend this with a few reservations. Despite its many problems, the single-player experience is what stands out here. The much-vaunted online multiplayer is disappointment. There are much better alternatives available on the Xbox, if Live is your thing. [July 2005, p.63]
-
The single player section is definitely a letdown, but the multiplayer mode makes up for it in a big way.
-
Though the fragging may hold your interest for a while, it's far from revolutionary, and the rest of the game feels like a rodent-encrusted relic from 2001.
-
The multiplayer option will provide stress relieving entertainment, however its has some lopsidedness in the characters and teams that will also become a cause for frustration without the nostalgia to keep you going.
-
Rare obviously know how to work their system. It's just a shame they've lost their flair for gameplay. This game overall displayed a total drought of ideas. It's a shame that such a good game be dealt such a troublesome fate.
-
This was a great concept on paper but somehow they managed to take what was a original game with great characters and a interesting story and turn it in to a lifeless soulless game.
-
games(TM)Live & Reloaded is an odd package indeed. A great-looking port of a decent yet dated adventure isn't going to help Microsoft get a return on its $375 million acquisition. Luckily, the online multiplayer and its new content could write a different story. [Aug 2005, p.94]
-
Reloaded must first stand on its single-player experience. There it pales in comparison to the king of Xbox action/adventure platformers: "Psychonauts."
-
The sheer carnage you're able to unleash can verge on the glorious, and the copious amounts of vehicles available in some sections certainly boosts variety. But the only thing we can really recommend Conker: Live & Reloaded for is it's single player mode.
-
Live and Reloaded is a fun and entertaining package for a short while in single player, but dated gameplay and some technical issues ensure that it won't last long.
-
Computer Games MagazineThe problem with Conker: Live and Reloaded isn't so much that it's bad as that it's superfluous. [Sept 2005, p.89]
