Rayne has been designed by sexiness experts and dropped into a game that features all the erotic appeal of Rosie O'Donnell scarfing down Canadian ham at an all-you-can-eat buffet. [Winter 2002, p.108]
  2. BloodRayne can be forgiven on a lot of levels because it's so silly it's fun, but for everything it does which is endearing, there's something to frustrate, bore or alienate the player.

Despite some nice features, the overly repetitive gameplay will probably wear thin after a bit.
  4. Fairly long, but it's also fairly repetitive.

Despite its cleverly conceived features and options, the actual execution is missing something. [Dec 2002, p.98]

I came away with a very “been there, done that” feeling after completion, and there are several titles which execute this general style more effectively.
  7. Half-baked doesn’t even begin to describe this fodder – which is a shame because even with its clichéd eccentricity it could have won as an example of style over substance. It doesn’t.
  8. Nothing here will leave a strong impression one way or the other, and perhaps that in and of itself is a negative.

Great fun hack-em-slash-em type of game. Pretty intense ending, easy game to pick up, decent storyline, and overall just fun to play. My Great fun hack-em-slash-em type of game.
