Game InformerRelatively funny, has an excellent soundtrack, a bunch of cool missions, and a clever economy mechanic. Why the mediocre score? You're in a truck. Driving a semi will just never be fun. [Sept 2003, p.121]
-
The surprising depth of the campaign mode, and the simple pleasures of smashing into oncoming traffic, helps negate the weak audiovisuals and onslaught of "yee-haw!" hee-haws.
-
Instead of just driving around the country, how about opening up the entire country. I dont want real-time cross-country driving realism, but we need more than five cities and the highways that connect them.
-
With not much to offer in terms of modes or challenges that will keep you interested enough to see this one through the end, I could only recommend this one as a weekend rental.
-
It really is fun for a while, but the monotonous gameplay will soon catch up with you. There are only so many times you can bring yourself to traverse the highway from Capital City to Greenback.
-
The game's arcade elements aren't done well enough to ever balance with the simulation elements, and the end result is a game that's too wacky to be a sim game and too simulation-based to be an arcade game.
-
Although not the masterpiece of AM2s "18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker," Big Mutha Truckers sets out to give the player an enjoyable truck-driving game, and it accomplishes its purpose.
-
There's nothing deep in Big Mutha Truckers, of course, but the humorous gameplay makes this a surprisingly fun driving game, especially for only $20. Offbeat, distinctive, and reasonably original, there's nothing else like it on the Xbox.
-
Cheat Code CentralIt's as though the developers thought they were the first to poke fun at southern-fried truckers while many of us have been doing it for years already.

UterOct 18, 2004I thought it'd be fun, but I was way off.

MikeV.Oct 3, 2003If you liked Redneck Rampage, this is a hilarious stereo-typical redneck game, with pretty good hick one liners. & for $20 it was well worth it!

EdloverJun 10, 2003Fun and funny game with pretty good gameplay. Great story and hilarious bits. Solid mission mode. Much more fun than King of Route 66.
