    A great play for gamers who love plot. So I had never played a Yakuza game before but I had played Shenmue 1 and 2. But Shenmue is to Yakuza what GTA 3 is to GTA 5. It has a great plot that pulls you in and keeps you engaged. I can best describe the gameplay as, take a RPG from the SNES days, then modernize it for 2021 and that's Like A Dragon. There are all the potions, items, loot,A great play for gamers who love plot. So I had never played a Yakuza game before but I had played Shenmue 1 and 2. But Shenmue is to Yakuza what GTA 3 is to GTA 5. It has a great plot that pulls you in and keeps you engaged. I can best describe the gameplay as, take a RPG from the SNES days, then modernize it for 2021 and that's Like A Dragon. There are all the potions, items, loot, skills, magic from RPG's but they are renamed for modern times. So instead of cloaks and armor you have different types of shirts, shoes, and hats. The graphics are good. I have it on optimal resolution and it still runs at 60FPS which is great. I will warn you though. I was not prepared for the amount of cutscenes. Honestly the game is probably 1/3 cutscene. Now the cutscenes are great. The voice acting, animations, and humor are really good but I thought I would just let you know going in.… Expand

    This is maybe one of the best games I have ever played. At the start it needed some patience from the player nyt that really paid of. Amazing story, characters, gameplay, music. One of the most memorable experiences in my 20+ years gaming career.

    I'm giving this game 10/10 to even the score since a lot of people reviewed it negatively for turned based combat in a Yakuza game in reality this game is 8/10. This game is super fun to play, and the touch of humor is just perfect.

    fun gameplay, fun mini games and the story is extremely exciting! I hope in the future Yakuza games can improve thier representation for marginalized groups, however the attempt to dive into issues like sex work and immigration is a really good start, that's the only negative thing I can say about it

    Ok world, but it's quite a slog towards rhe end. Didn't like the turn based fighting...at all. Graphics not great.

    I never played a Yakuza game before and tried this one via Game Pass because it's turn-based. I am blown away. This is already one of my favorite JRPGs. The story got me hooked, the sidequests are well done, combat is fine, the minigames are exceptionally fun & the world is interesting to explore. It's a good mixture of thrilling action, serious drama & over the top comedy. I decided toI never played a Yakuza game before and tried this one via Game Pass because it's turn-based. I am blown away. This is already one of my favorite JRPGs. The story got me hooked, the sidequests are well done, combat is fine, the minigames are exceptionally fun & the world is interesting to explore. It's a good mixture of thrilling action, serious drama & over the top comedy. I decided to buy the premium edition and I'm looking forward to the future Like a Dragon games.… Expand

    Первая моя игра из серии Yakuza и я не разочарован. Отличный сюжет, Хорошо раскрыты персонажи и их судьбы, интересный геймплей с кучей разнообразного контента, от мини игр, до городских историй. Даже с виду однообразный бой, не надоедает, при этом всегда можно включить автобой, если Вам надоели постоянные встречи с недругом на улицах. Хочу так же отметить визуальную часть и в особенностиПервая моя игра из серии Yakuza и я не разочарован. Отличный сюжет, Хорошо раскрыты персонажи и их судьбы, интересный геймплей с кучей разнообразного контента, от мини игр, до городских историй. Единственный не значительный минус, который для кого то может и во все не оказаться минусом, это не большая затянутость. В конце это не много ощутилось. Но общего впечатления не изменило.     Free on gamepass and I feel like that was too high a price, who is this for? read a book or watch a movie this is just one long cut screen with the most boring repetitive gameplay in very shortly interrupting.

    I did not expect to like this game as much as I did. What a wonderful cast of characters. This is my first Yakuza game and most certainly will not be my last.

    Fun gameplay at its core, it is a must play. Mutiple mini games are amazing with a great strong story to boot.

D’ailleurs, il y a tellement de combats dans ce Yakuza que c’est à se tirer une balle entre les yeux : on ne peut pas faire 20m sans tomber sur des vilains à tabasser. Certes, on peut les éviter, les contourner, attendre qu’ils passent mais c’est presque aussi chiant que de se les taper…

    Et ces bastons dans la campagne principale sont encore plus nombreuses ! ça n’en finit pas… entre deux cinématiques bien sûr. Car on a rarement vu autant de blabla : c’est à faire mourir de honte n’importe quel Metal Gag Solid ! d’ailleurs, souvent la manette s’éteint, ce qui signifie qu’on s’est tapé… 10 minutes de cinématiques et de dialogues « on s’en fout ». Car ce Yakuza nous prend pour des enfants de 6 ans un peu attardés à nous exposer les atermoiements de chacun et les « enjeux » de cette histoire à dormir debout, des enjeux pourtant simples, pour ne pas dire simplistes.

    En dehors de ça, on retrouve les travers habituels de la série comme l’humour imbécile et le grand n’importe quoi ambiant, le mauvais goût qui la caractérise… Notons néanmoins que sur Series X, le jeu est très beau et maintient un 60 im/s très agréable. Les environnements sont soignés et seules quelques (rares) textures font la gueule. Les temps de chargement sont réduits à leu plus simple expression, même pas le temps de compter jusqu’à… deux.

    La répétition omniprésente a donc raison de notre patience, de même que ces cinématiques à tout bout de champ ; le jeu reste cependant très jouable et l’interface assez bien faite : on se surprend à se prendre au jeu les premières heures, puis on déchante par la suite, fatigué par ce crapaud qui s’est pris pour un boeuf…    … Expand

    Definitely a Yakuza game. It's hard for me to rate this game very high, as much as I'm enjoying it. The asset recycling is getting ridiculous, down to the main protagonist, which is just Kiryu with a new skin and a bad press perm.

    The graphics are also completely lackluster. This does not feel like a next generation game.

The writing and storyline is tremendous and I feel like I’m watching and playing through an anime series. This game isn’t gonna be for everyone with how there’s scenes and or cutscenes that can drag on for nearly twenty to thirty minutes, but if you don’t have anAbsolutely love this game.     I only ever played/beat yakuza 0 so I'm still new to this series but I really enjoyed playing this one. The graphics, music, and gameplay are all great. The runs amazing on series x and the loading is insanely fast.

    the bathe is so fresh, in a way i can only image that how good it could be if it was on a final fantasy series, still it does not fit the modern age so much
    it's not really yakuza game it's more like a Judgment 2 game
    But i enjoy it very much, after chapter 10 it may gat a bit boring, still i recommend for RPG lovers

    Lo mejor que he jugado en mucho tiempo, divertidisimo y con un toques de humor geniales. El carisma de los personajes es tremendo, de verdad que espero que este juego lo pueda probar cuanta mas gente mejor. Ojalá llegue pronto a Xbox Game Pass.

    This game is simply sublime. Yakuza series is so underrated. The new protagonist is perfect, combat system is refreshing. Story perfect. Throughly enjoyed it from start to finish

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Like a Dragon is a goofy, funny, strange, fun, and optimistic exiting game which is exactly what a Yakuza game should be like. When the gameplay was first shown, I was upset that the game went from a beat em up rpg to a turn based rpg as I don't really like those types of games, however after giving this game a shot, I fell in love, The story is pretty simple and similar to most fo the other games, gang memeber gets betrayed and framed by fellow gang member and goes on revenge quest with allies to take them out, the games are usually goofy but this Yakuza game takes goofyness to the next level, literally every attack in the game is trying to give you a chuckle and every animation along with its open world feels so fresh, only in Yakuza can a guy using a salmon beat up a guy using a katana, overall the game is amazing and if you're upset about the gameplay change, just give it a shot like me, you might be surprised.… Expand

    This game makes a hilarious and well executed attempt at incorporating all the traditional components of an RPG. Not only that, but a well executed story that features tons of character development. There’s so much to do in this game and it never feels boring. Optimization and just a few awkward moments in the acting keep me from scoring this perfectly. This is a must play in my opinion.

    I have never played a Yakuza game prior to this one, so I dont exactly have a series frame od reference. But I can confidently say that this is my favourite game of 2020. Clever, silly, poignant, and most importantly: fun. A super unique take on the classic RPG formula that I can't recommend enough.

Сюжет достаточно сложно оценить, сначала он достаточно бодрый и интересный, а вот уже в середине проседает. Однако все равно, большая наценка игре за японский калорит, который оказывается можно было передать и без миллиардЭто отличная игра для геймпасса, и неплохая игра за свою стоимость.     Graficos lindos, boa gameplay, personagens maravilhosos e um dos melhores senão o melhor enredo da historia dos jogos. Só não dei 10 pq no final do jogo vc vai ser obrigado a farmar muuuito para uma boss fight, mas depois que eu conheci a historia dos outros jogos da franquia eu entendi o que os desenvolvedores tentaram fazer, mas mesmo assim é muito tempo farmando cara. Só joguem essaGraficos lindos, boa gameplay, personagens maravilhosos e um dos melhores senão o melhor enredo da historia dos jogos.     What a great game! When it first came out I was hesitant to buy it, what a mistake that was!
    I played on Series X and I did not encounter any bugs or problems.
    The game-play is fun and that includes the mini-games. What made me hesitate to buy the game in the first place was the turn based combat, but in reality it's great! If at all, maybe it gets a little old late-game, but for    What a great game! When it first came out I was hesitant to buy it, what a mistake that was!

    Graphics-wise, I played on performance mode and it was smooth and pretty. Quality looks better of course, but I was not willing to sacrifice the 60fps.

    Wow! I didn't expect this game at all. I've play all yakuza saga and this was a totally different thing BUT a Yakuza essence it was there. A new brand gameplay that feels so fresh and different with illimited options.

The turn-based combat was what disappointed me the most, the setback is so big that I even made the refund.     This is my first Like A Dragon game and it's a turn based. I first tried on Game Pass, and then i bought digital because I really like this game.

    I am looking forward to Like A Dragon: Infiniite Wealth.

    Yakuza: Like a Dragon does exactly as hoped and brings a whole new audience to the series with a reinvention of sorts. It plays well, looks great, and has one of the simplest stories to understand fronted by Ichi, the most likeable protagonist so far. It was a bold move in it's radical approach to the combat system that has paid off spectacularly, when partnered with a wealth of sub-quests that never feel forced and always delight. If you are a long time Yakuza fan, take comfort in knowing that even in a new direction this not only holds up, but is the best in the series. For newcomers, go and grab one of the games of the year. Consider this reviewer converted.

    What a wild ride it is. I didn't want Yakuza: Like a Dragon to end. A part of me wonders if I grinded out battles and business minigames more than was intended, simply because I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Ichiban and friends. Fortunately, the story wraps up nicely and leaves the door open for a possible sequel — even though it wavers a bit near the end. This isn't farewell to Ichiban. With a new cast of charming characters, Like A Dragon feels like the start of a new saga in the Yakuza franchise. Until next time, Kasuga-kun.

    Yakuza Like a Dragon is one of the best RPGs of the year. RGG Studio has managed to create a great introduction of the series for the new generation.
