Feb 26, 2025It may be a departure from the usual formula of the Warriors franchise, but it all works very well in WARRIORS: Abyss. The gameplay loop, unlocking of new heroes and weapons, and grind for resources is absorbing

Feb 24, 2025Combining the formula of Dynasty Warriors with a Roguelight might seem mad on paper but works surprisingly well in Warrriors: Abyss. It’s fun collecting the over 100 available heroes and going into battle with them. Calling gathered heroes into battle for devastating combos is engaging. Unfortunately the fights can feel overwhelming because after a certain point every screen is filled to the brim with endless effects of both allies and enemies.

May 15, 2025While the lack of any meaningful narrative might hold Warriors Abyss from reaching the insane heights of Warriors All-Stars, the sheer volume of characters on offer gives it a huge amount of replayability. It doesn’t matter which character the player is fond of because they’re all here and ready to fight the armies of the dead. This is as charming a celebration of the Dynasty and Samurai Warriors franchises as I’ve seen, and fans should absolutely make it their business to get into it as soon as possible.

Feb 28, 2025Warriors: Abyss had potential. A musou with roguelike mechanics could have been a breath of fresh air for the series, but instead we get a grueling, chaotic and frustrating experience.

Mar 11, 2025Omega Force’s attempt to enter the roguelite space with Warriors: Abyss is sadly quite underwhelming. I had some fun battling the waves of demons with the plethora of playable characters. But with some ugly graphics, no real randomization in levels/layout or bosses and limited gameplay features, this one is better left to the uber fans, even at its discounted price.
