The Texas Chain Saw Massacre plays, looks, and sounds like its team holds the source material in the highest regard. Faithfully transposing the film's signature terror into a modern multiplayer game is a feat on both ends. The metagame never gamifies the tension to a degree that feels distracting or dampening, and yet that rewarding gameplay loop means, despite how unnerving each round is, there's a strong pull to play it again and again. As one of the year's scariest and best-designed experiences, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has reset the bar for multiplayer horror games.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a game that thrives on its dedication to not just replicating the Slaughter Family (which it does excellently) and planting easter eggs but on its goal to expand on it all. By using a unique storyline, the developers at GUN highlight the importance of honoring the source material and the necessity of making something unique from it.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a tough but enjoyable horror title. Choose to be one of the family or escape before it is too late as a victim. Either option is great fun as they test your patience, teamwork, and skills.

This is a title available as part of Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions, so stop reading what I’m saying about it and jump on in if you’re a horror movie or asymettrical horror game fan. The best part is, Achievements stack on both platforms — obtain a heap playing on the Xbox version, and they’ll basically auto-pop when you jump into a match on PC. Cross-play is certainly available, though I’m not sure if cross-progression is limited to Game Pass or not. That said, there’s a strong core here and I hope the issues currently experienced are sorted soon.

As it stands now, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a good game with the potential to be great. The multiplayer is fun and exciting, but the game sometimes feels as bare as the bone chimes hanging in the Sawyer family house. Sumo Nottingham and Gun Media clearly have a lot of reverence for the source material, and the two companies have given fans a game that feels true to the license. Hopefully The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will continue to grow and expand in a way that keeps players coming back.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has a lot of promise, but it'll need some updates before it can truly be called great.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a fun and faithful adaptation that captures the terror and despair from the original movie. However, some odd design decisions and a lot of technical issues affect the game in a negative way.

As a dead by daylight player, I really like the game. The gameplay is really refreshingly different, finally not just running around the pallets anymore.
I really enjoy gameplay both as a family and as a victim.
I'm also happy to see that this game is well received by your community, I hope it will get long and good support.
The game also came out in good condition without a day one patch which is very pleasing, just small problems with the matchmaking and small bugs but that will surely be fixed soon.
A 10/10 from me for sure!

Game scared the crap out of me during the victim gameplay. This is one of the most well done horror style game that I have ever played.

Beautiful game, really fun and gets addicting. Both family and victim sides seem decently balanced so far so both are very enjoyable.

Instead of 1 insane person.. you can have 3 hunting you down at once !!! Isn’t that exciting?? The stealth in the game is actually useable and you have a higher chance of escape unlike in DBD. This game would have been a 10/10 for me but… wasn’t as gory as I thought it would be, I still recommend it though to anyone. Expand
