Mar 5, 2025The Stone of Madness is a worthy addition to Commandos-esque strategy games. Its old monastery setting enhances the stealth gameplay and diverse cast of characters. While its difficulty can sometimes be frustrating and the design lacks variety, its beautiful visuals and macabre aesthetic more than make up for these shortcomings.

Nonetheless, some glitchy animations and wonky interface design hint at a limited budget for playtesting. The Stone of Madness may not have the panache and depth of say, Shadow Gambit, but it’s an unorthodox prison sentence worth serving.
