The Invincible is a slow paced first person walking simulator but with a heavy emphasis on its storytelling. It may not have the excitement you’d expect, though I can’t delve into much more of the story for fear of spoilers. Having never read the novel I wasn’t sure what to expect, and the fact that the game is a prequel to the novel is exciting, and now I have plans to read the source material. If you enjoy a slow burn sci-fi story, The Invincible tells quite an interesting and compelling tale, one footstep at a time.

The Invincible is a beautiful, mesmerising and contemplative adventure that fans of retrofuturism and hard sci fi wont want to miss.

The Invincible is going to split opinion; not everyone is going to love this game, although many others will. It's a story-driven adventure where narrative is the driving force so should you be looking for a thoughtful adventure in a brave new world and don't mind the slow pace brought on by the game mechanics, then The Invincible will deliver you to the stars.

The Invincible successfully delivers an immersive science fiction narrative based on the iconic book from Stanisław Lem.l. What starts as a simple rescue mission evolves into a philosophical exploration of human relationships with technology and evolution. Despite our objections about a lack of a better exploration and use of some tools Yasna has, we would recommend this walking simulator to everyone interested in science fiction or narrative adventure enthusiast.

The Invincible is a beautiful visual representation of the novel of the same name written by Stanislaw Lem decades ago. You are immersed in the world through game mechanics and design that allow you to interact in unique ways. Unfortunately, the game still suffers from performance and technical issues that should have already been addressed in the time since the game launched.

If The Invincible stands out for its superb artistic direction and its palpable suspense, it is content to be quite good on other levels. But the immersion is such that it could almost create an illusion. The problem is that it doesn't always stand the test of bugs, details and other gameplay limitations. Despite real potential, The Invincible is therefore far from a Firewatch. But if you like science fiction and exotic adventures, you will be able to be charmed by this experience which remains gripping and which is still worth a look.

The Invincible is a sci-fi experience that shifts tried and tested perspectives. However, sadly, it didn't resonate and I struggled to enjoy every moment. However, if you like an unusual game that tries something new, then this could be right up your street.

The Invincible is a true old school science-fiction with an emphasis on science rather than some personal drama. It's a great experience with a perfect sense of style, just beware that the game part is lacking or rather almost non-existent.

The Invincible brings with it a great adventure that doesn't quite fit. Especially because the game tends to lengthen the time. All of this causes the exploration to interrupt the rhythm of the story and consequently, the player could disconnect from the game. However, the planet Regis III, Yasna and company will manage to take a place in your heart.

The Invincible is definitely propped up on its art direction and story, both of which are really rather good. Dialogue choices and alternate options mean there should be scope for some replays, though that’ll also depend on how much of Yasna’s slow movement speed you can stomach again. All in all, The Invincible was enjoyable enough to recommend, but I’d hope to see future outings from the team fine tune the character controls and movement.

The Invincible has a good base and its context is fascinating, but its mechanics execution is far away from Stanislaw Lem's work.

An intrigue in this game died back in 1964 when the novel of the same name was published.

The is much more potential than what is actually achieved.

Beyond its near-perfect graphics, The Invincible fails to keep us gripped in the long haul. According to our research, the game doesn’t strictly follow the book and takes certain liberties with the story. This results in a game following the narrative codes and pushing further and further away any kind of action. If it had been made entirely as a narrative game, the codes would have been in line. However, it was sold to us as an adventure game, which means that the plot had to be introduced more quickly to keep the player engaged until the end. Knowing this, it seems hard to enjoy all eleven endings. Nonetheless, The Invincible remains a high-quality space adventure game that is more than worthy of our attention. Yasna says this during his journey: “Faced with a beautiful landscape, an hour can seem like a minute.” This quote sums up the title perfectly. Despite its shortcomings in terms of action, its aesthetics compel us to linger, if only to contemplate what Starward Industries has to offer: space, its immensity, its stillness, peace and beauty. We could almost forget that this planet aims to exterminate us: some deaths are far more troubling.
