    Game is great, and any score under a "7.5" is either by a Playstation user, or in rare occasions, someone who just hates this type of game, but most of those people wouldn't bother reviewing, because they wouldn't have played the game... just like all the Playstation users.

    Depending on your taste, game is anything from a 7.5 to a 10. Play it and decide for yourself.

    Am giving this game 10/10 for many reasons. Game is huge, lots of things You can do. I spent hours doing side missions. Started hunting things. My character is a narcissist berzerker. I like the story line, it takes unexpected turns. Sound and graphics are really good. Few small but funny errors, nothing major. I cant really say too much as i dont want to. spoil it.     Honestly, best game of the year, no longer best game of the decade. May end up being the best game of all time, I'll tell you once I have put in more than 100 hours! Amazing game, not flawless, but the positives more than out weigh the negatives. Its getting a 10 from me, It really is a masterpiece!

    That's 6 First Party games for Xbox this year, Forza Motorsport next month too.
    Ignore low scores they are just Sony fanboys, they haven't had one First party game release this year so they have nothing better to do.     Wow really there are seriously butt hurt people about loading screens and exploration. This game wasn't ever suppose to be open world. Yes there are too many loading screens, yes you cant land your ship on each planet, but the pros outweigh its cons. Seriously this is massive in scope in terms side quests and main story quests, I get immersed by it voice acting and graphics are soo goodWow really there are seriously butt hurt people about loading screens and exploration. You get to talk to her in between quests, and get to find out what she wants, talks about her past trauma and then another quest starts. Great game!! Classic Bethesda story and quest system. BTW the gameplay the shooting mechanics are very good much better than Fallout 4.… Expand

    I don't understand the hate this game is getting, don't hear the console warriors, I'm currently 25 hours into the game and it's freakin awesome, you'll be hooked (not instantly) but in the first 5 hrs that's for sure, planets are beautiful, ship building is tons of fun, combat has been improved from past Bethesda's games.     I have played 52 hours so far. What are my thoguhts? This is the best Bethesda game since Oblivion!!!!!!!!! Simply wonderful an a huge improvement from Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.

    Bethesda is back!! Wonderful game and second best of 2023, behind BG3. Get this game now, it is simply amazing!

    The game is fantastic. Very good story and keeps me hooked. Everywhere I go there is a reason to explore. The constellation team is really cool and with very good writing. I got the dream home trait and my first hours were about getting money to pay the house. Start the Vangard quest line earlier because it gives a lot of context to the universe of Starfield. The game is fantastic.

    The game is just evocative and smart. There is always more stuff to discover around the corner. The side quests are fun. Some of the npcs are quite funny.

    It's a stunning experience. I can see why some people don't like it. But trust me when I say you need to decide for yourself. And stick with it, it's only gotten better for me. It wasn't a 10. Now it is. Bethesda has done it again. Best one since Oblivion.

    Amazing game don't listen to all the fanboys trying to review bomb the game. it starts slow but gets better and better. Best game I have played in the last 10years. Its really pathetic that there are so many people trying to destroy the game because its not on PlayStation.

    It's a great game but not without flaws. To be honest, it worths a 8.5/10. But I'm tired of kids who put 1 or 0. If you enjoy Betheda's games and space opera...this latter is for you

    Total banger!!! The best game I've played ever since Morowind and the original FF7. It has everything a great RPG should have and a whole lot more. I may spend the next few years of my life playing this game!!!

    My short review is based on roughly 70 hours of play and main story finished.
    Although the game could certainly use some optimization, its still an incredible space RPG absolutely packed with a variety of content, interesting characters and fun combat, something that we haven't really seen the likes of since the Mass Effect series.

It has some flaws, but overall it is one of the most complete games I've played in a long time. I loved playing FO3 as a kid and progressing through Skyrim and FO4 for hundreds of hours.     One of the best game I have played in a long time.. I'm 27+ hrs in and I have barely scratch the surface. A must play for any Si-Fi space lover. Currently I am focusing on the main story but I have been told that the side quest missions are even better cannot wait to play them all. This is one of those classic Bethesda games which you are going to play for years to come just like Skyrim,One of the best game I have played in a long time.. If you've never played a Bethesda game before and don't understand this, it can be very frustrating for a new player. The game and universe really opens up after a period of gameplay.     I have played around 12 hours and it is really good game so far. If you like skyrim and fallout 4 you will like this as its bascily those games but in space. This isn't a space exploration game like Elite Dangerous but more a RPG game. The graphics looks excellent and I have not had 1 crash or 1 bug. it runs perfect.     I wish I could say I feel bad for the PlayStation users that have been review bombing left and right due to Xbox having released this absolute masterpiece by Todd Howard and Bethesda. Yet i really don’t, since these are the same people who have been holding their exclusives over Xbox users for a decade.     I don't understand all the bad ratings. Its a good game.
    For the state its in now I give it 8/10 for now, but I give it 10 for all the 0 ratings.
    Give it some time and It can really be a great game with the mod Community.
    It has a little rough takeoff, but it has big potencial to have a perfect landing. (like No Man's Sky)

    Forget the 0's, which are just butthurt ponies, the game is amazing. It's sad that you basically have to discard user reviews because of bombing but it is what it is.     I’m going to address to playstation fans that are extremely pissed off the game is an xbox exclusive. I understand your frustration enormously. That said to give a 0 on metacritic will not change anything. It is not the fault of the game that this masterpiece is exclusive to Microsoft. It’s Bethesda’s leader fault. Write them emails, flood their mail inbox endlessly, go protest in front of their office, but do not come to put 0 here. You are not happy when xbox fanboy put 0 to God of War, The last of us etc So please do not act like them.

    Let’s start with the negative. The biggest flaw in the game is not a flaw of the game in itself. It’s more the fact that the game is exclusive to Microsoft. Let me explain . The xbox controller is a real filth. It is too small, the back buttons ( the equivalent of r2 and l2 on the dualsense ) are too close. My two index fingers almost touch themselves. They are also too much forward and I have to bend my hand up a little to weigh at the bottom of the buttons to have the maximum sensations. The handles on both sides of the controller where you hold the controller are much too short. I feel like I hold a mini board in my hand rather than a controller. As a result, it’s extremely uncomfortable and destroys a lot of the fun. The other big problem is the total lack of feedback. The vibrations are okay for space combat but for ground combat, it’s awful. There is so little feedback that when I shoot with a gun, I feel like I am pressing down into the vacuum. Now, the lack of adaptive triggers makes this problem much worse. I thought it was just haptic feedback and adaptive trigger that made the ps5 controller incomparably superior. Finally it’s not just that it’s the entire design. So it makes the pleasure and the satisfaction of the fight much reduced and it’s a very big problem for me. It still not as bad as a mouse keyboard.

    The other big problem is the 30 fps. Although it is more stable than other games ( when you put them in quality mode ) since it is optimized for 30, I miss the 60. Even if you had to release it six months later or invest a little more. It would have been worth it.

    Now the positive

    Graphics:

    If we compare it to other games of its time, Starfield is their most beautiful game. We know that Bethesda never makes the most beautiful graphics but this one is the most up to date compared to other AAA. In some places, like rocks textures or robots, it feel next gen graphics. In other places it is more blurry and facial expressions are a bit dated but a gigantic improvement compared to fallout 4 and 76.

    Interaction with NPCs

    As usual, Bethesda always pushes the boundaries on this side. We can start discussions with hundreds of NPCs. Ask them questions, inform ourselves, make fun of them, lie to them, threaten them, persuade them etc. They react accordingly and several NPCs will evolve their speech the more we advance in the plot. It’s nice to listen to what they in details. You can spend a whole night just talking loll Our companions will react to our decisions but also to some of our actions. Concerning the NPCs that cannot be engaged in a deep conversation, those who pass here and there the "appearing". Even they will have more to say than what we see in rpg's. Usually in games, passers-by will have 2 or 3 lines, hello how you feel etc But here I met severals who had 10 different lines.

    It’s nice to be able to customize the smallest details of your character’s face even if I haven’t seen any progress on this side. Choosing them a back round with a unique advantage is also a plus. We can modify our weapons in very details and the skill tree is extremely well made with a lot of skills divided into 5 categories and each skill has many levels. More than enough to find your favorite play style and upgrading it. We are free to engage in several companies and work for them, invest our money and build our own path etc

    Exploration

    This is again ahead of it's time. You can enter all the buildings, explore hundreds of planet, pick up almost everything you find, sell, buy, build etc. No mans sky has more planets but almost 0 combat and interactions. Those 2 aspects are extremely limited in NMS.

    Bethesda pushes the boundaries again with a world of richness and depth. Although the feeling of the fights, the almost total absence of gore are not on point, it remains much better than their previous game. Blood effects are less pixelated, sounds effects and shooting mechanics have been greatly improved since their last games and bugs are less present for a launch version.

    If you've ever enjoyed any Fallout or Elder Scrolls title this will be an obvious buy.
    Anyone who tells you that No Mans Sky, Elite Dangerous, or Star Citizen are "better" are

    No matter how hard you try to sabotage the score, this is such a great game all around. The graphics are beautiful and immersive, the main story is great so far, and the gameplay mechanics are quite an improvement -yet feel familiar- to previous Bethesda games like Fallout. The skill tree has so many options. In the long run, the truth will surface: this is the best Bethesda RPG so far.

    So I really liked Fallout 4 even with all it's flaws, I spent nearly 200 playing it and it was a great too, nothing too taxing, just a pleasant time. 76 wasn't great, I played less than 50 hours of that. I liked Skyrim too, but the identical dungeons layouts bored me. I played a lot of Assassins Creed, Odyssey being my favourite.     Starfield opens with an updated version of the tutorial for noobs, it's actually pretty good, then you fight in Space and play a million sidequests, so many to play. Thankfully this game isn't Elite Dangerous or No Man's Sky, two of the most bring games ever. You don't need to spend pointless hours getting from one planet another, I was worried it would be like that but thankfully it's more like Destiny, phew!
    I have spent nearly 40 hours playing it so far and I really, really like it. It took me a while to change my way of gaming as I had spent the last six months playing Elden Rings which is a very hectic and unforgiving Souls game. Starfield is a much more relaxed game, I have focused on being nice to people and have invested heavily in diplomacy which has served me well.
    I think I'll be playing this game for many months to come.

I only got the game for modding potential but actually surprised how hooked I've been with the vanilla game. But the reasons why they show such negativity towards Starfield are absolutely not clear to me. Many people complain about constant loading, but no one is bothered by the fact that they take place literally in seconds, while the detail work in many of these locations is impressive. People complain that they can’t land and take off from planets on their own, which is why they have to use fast travel, but do you really want to land and take off from hundreds of planets with your own hands every time, despite the fact that in an hour of playing you can fly 20 times from one star system to another? Many people complain about NPC faces in cities, but how often do you look at bobbleheads in open worlds? There's a lot of talk about what you can't do in the game, but no one wants to talk about what you can do in the game. In addition to the usual battles on earth, space battles with boarding ships have been added; the construction of a “settlement” is not at all a mandatory element of the game, but this mechanic is worked out just as well as the others. and I'm not talking about the main story with additional tasks that are no worse than in Fallout or Skyrim. The number of quests is off the charts as are the settings and the feeling of immersion as well. They focus on 2-3 things, over and over - things that don't even matter to me - and ignore the 100,000 things Starfield gets absolutely right. On rare occasions, npcs walk in front of characters you are in a conversation with. But beyond that, the game is super polished the and amount of content in Starfield is insane. The voice acting (quality and variety), environments, lighting, rpg mechanics, breath and depth of mechanics, and sound design are the real standouts here. And the game is FUN.    … Expand

    This is absolutly amazing rpg to spend hundredrs of hours in.

    Dont get fooled by dad gamers who didnt even played the game until you get powers or dont even own the game at all. People with a tiktok brain of today got influenced so easily by herd mentality.     Love Bethesda RPGs and this has lived up to all my expectations, I will be playing this for years to come.

    After 70+ hours I still love that game. Combat is awesome, Flying is good, Story is amazing and in cases, graphics are incredible. The characters, dialogs and side missions are over the top. i am seeing myself playing for a long time.

    It is true that you'll find a good number of barren wastelands with little to do other than extracting some resources and take off to more interesting places, but again it really depends on how you want to play. There's so much to do, so many systems and abilities to explore, missions to complete, spaceships to loot, and species to catalogue, that I honestly don't think there's anybody who thinks that exploring every square meter of this universe is the better way to enjoy Starfield.

    While it has weak spots and doesn’t push many boundaries, Starfield is still an excellent RPG experience. Bethesda has once again mastered the things it built its reputation on – world building, quest design, and deep customization. However, it’s found new things to excel at too, with exciting combat and a novel implementation of New Game Plus.
