    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. See I played Fallen Order and loved it, the revolutionary combat and intriguing story made it great. It could pass as a new game and be just fine. Of course, there wasn’t enough customization and there were some bugs here and there + there wasnt enough lightsaber stances. But Jedi Survivor improved on everything. Sure for PC the graphics were bad but not me, I was just fine (I’m on Xbox). The story and customization and everything was great. Honestly the one bad thing about this game is that I didn’t like Dagan Gera’s voice actor he sounded like a toddler. And I’m most definitely hyped for the inevitable trequel. And I hope we can see Kata grown up and Cal and Merrin have some goofy Jedi + Night Sister kid I don’t know how that’ll work but it will. Anyways this game blew away my expectation and I almost cried over Cere’s death and Bode’s betrayal and actions. So yeah 10/10 gonna probably replay it 6 times like I did with Fallen Order.… Expand

    When I heard this game was targeting current gen only hardware I wasn't sure what to expect. When at its best, the ray traced GI/reflections 4k (upscaled) quality mode looks superb on my oled screen. Lost count of the number of jaw dropping moments in my play through. The story and cutscenes were far better quality than I'd anticipated and these were at times stunning. I also preferred the level design this time around.
    Sadly there are a number of distractingly poor technical issues throughout the majority of the game. Namely a frame rate that although often hits its target 30fps has distracting dips as new areas load into memory. For a game that often requires precision for fighting/platforming this performance problem sticks out and impacts gameplay and immersion. Add to this some noticeable texture stream in and things can look a bit shakey at times.

    The 'open linear' style hub planet introduced a more interesting and detailed experience rather than planet hopping this time. I enjoyed the fun holotactitcs mini game and enjoyed the detail in some of the NPC dialogue. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the genre but be warned, even now Aug 2023 there are still very noticeable performance issues.    … Expand

    What Could have been... Thats how Jedi Survivor leaves me feeling. Lets start with the Pros.

    Pros: Fun Combat this game does improve upon the first game, and all the unlockable stances and abilities u can level up create a fun experience.     CONS: This is where things get bad, The Story is a MAJOR L. Wasted antagonist that who motivations overall just suck, and a secondary antagonist shoehorned in. The Overall pacing and plot developments just over all make for a story that is incoherent and lazy. Which really sucks because the overall Performances are great.

    Optimization, and preformance, is terrible it seems like the devs overall released a broken game, I had this game crash on me more times than I can count, the FPS in preformance mode were sub 30 alot of the time.    … Expand

    Played this game in August 2023, it still has heavy framerate issues. Tried alternating settings including the performance setting. Lots of games I don't mind 30 fps, but this is just unbearable. Luckily I could return it to the store.

    This is a great single player game with great gameplay. I love how it evolved from the first part. The combat evolved a lot and there is a lot of variance how to fight enemies.     This is a great single player game with great gameplay. I love how it evolved from the first part. The combat evolved a lot and there is a lot of variance how to fight enemies. I finished the first part on Grand Master difficulty. And now already spend ~15 hours on Jedi survivor also on the hardest difficulty. It brings a lot of joy once you master the parry mechanic and understand how to defeat different enemies (spend 40 minutes on Rancor).
    If you like challenging single player game with great combat - just pick the hardest difficulty and the game will bring you a lot of fun.
    The only negative part is performance, it's not terrible, it's ok. I play on Xbox series X on 4K TV, I have some noticable fps drops time to time, but that is 4k and the console is already 3 years after release, it's analogue of rtx 2070-2080. So if you have rtx 30**/40** series and full HD monitor - I believe there wouldn't be any noticable issues with fps. I mean Witcher 3 had good enough 100+ fps only after many years of release and the game was still good. So this one is great as well.    … Expand

If you like to spend 80% of your time trying to make impossible platforming jumps, this is the game for you. I love Star Wars, I read the books, keep up with the lore, and play the games and this may very well be the best piece of Star Wars Content since Empire Strikes Back.     Here are the positives
    - Respawn gets the lore. We see things in this game that I never thought I would see outside of books with deep cut lore. I was thrilled by the stuff they pulled and put in this game.
    - It is canon! This is just as much canon as the movies which is great to know!
    - Cal is one of my favorite jedi in all of Star Wars, he gets so much character development in this game. Love him!
    - The whole cast is here and great, love the mew additions!
    - The story. The story is unmatched. It starts slow but it builds into a jaw dropping finally that had me yelling at my TV. This game is shocking. The writing is perfect. What a story!
    - Gameplay! The gameplay is perfect. You start with the powers you had at the end of Fallen Order. You are a Jedi Knight now and that comes with being stronger. The combat is even better, the lightsaber stances are all fun and unique. The boss battles are incredibly fun and fast pace! The platforming is very fun and challenging also!
    - Customization! Lots you can do in this game with making Cala and your lightsaber look the way you want.
    - Maps and world design/level design. Multiple planets, all very big and unique. The level design with the short cuts reminds me of the first dark souls game, very intelligently designed!
    - Side content! There is a lot from side quests to animal collecting to holo battles.    … Expand

If you’re playing on a 30 fps tv experience you might still really love it. For me the overall jankiness always ripped me out of feeling like being a Jedi.     A worthy sequel. I enjoyed my time playing the latest entry in the Star Wars Jedi series. The combat has been improved and the story keeps you engaged. Well worth the purchase and looking forward to the next.

    The game is excellent, it has a cool combat, beautiful and open locations, interesting story missions, a good storyline and new characters, the only problem was optimization, and then it was quickly fixed and repaired.

    I loved this game from beginning to end. Were there some framedrops? Sometimes, but not nearly enough to take away the fun and attack the developers. It looks beautiful, it beautifully build upon the last game and the story was quite emotional. It also had the perfect length and map size to keep you interested in exploring but not overwhelmed.     I'm done purchasing games at release. This game was the straw that broke the camel's back. Unless the name of your company is Rockstar or FromSoftware, I will be waiting until I can physically watch footage of the game I want running with built in vrr @40fps+ and 4k resolution or 60fps+ at nothing less than 1440p. The end

I play in performance mode (1440p/60hz), and gameplay is consistently smooth with some slow downs at transition points and cut scenes. Never an issue during combat.… Expand

    Amazing game and a must have for a Star Wars fan. The gameplay is a blast and the graphics are amazing. Also, the characters and story are very good. The world is huge and there are a lot of hours to play.I don't know about the PC version, but on Xbox I didn't encounter any performance issues, but there were a few bugs. Overall, I definitely recommend this game.

    So this is a better game than the prequel but it does have more flaws. So the combat is more fluid and cal feeling more powerful does make the game better as well- very Sekiro like combat. The enemy variety in the game is decent and I would say slightly better the prequel. However despite this the story was mostly great and the boss fights were done well especially Rayvis- Bode at the end was a bit irrational. You’re often at the mercy of constant strong attacks that you can’t block They added a weapon and character customization component that’s completely pointless unless you like finding new facial hair or lightsaber handles
    Way too much platforming. It feels like the developers gave up on improving the combat system and instead focused on building environments large enough that you’d have to spend your time jumping and climbing on things for most of the main sections.
    A lot of the enemies are able to reject your force powers making you feel not like a powerful Jedi but instead an average character trying to compete with whatever the empire has thrown at you.

    Overall I recommend this game to anyone that was a fan of the original as long as you go knowing it’s not as polished as the critics make it out to be. I’d wait until this one is on sale.    … Expand

    But is One of the Best Games I’ve Ever Played.

    The Gameplay, Story, Characters, Incredible.

    I don't know why complain a lot about the game. I played the game on the Xbox and I think it's great.
    I had no problems with bugs or anything else
    few good games appear lately and when good games appear they are made poorly just enjoy the game
    The graphics are great, the story is okay but otherwise a really successful game

    I enjoyed this game, but i just wasn't as invested as the first. The story is really good and although you can see a couple of twists coming, there are still aspects of the story that surprise you. The game promised improvements from the first game but i feel the improvements were minimal so not worth mentioning.

    There are less planets in this one, so disappointed in less exploration    I enjoyed this game, but i just wasn't as invested as the first.     El juego es superior al primero por muchísimas cosas. Me gustaría que la gente que ponemos nota nos dedicamos a puntuar lo que es el juego en sí, y no votar en negativo por algún cierre inesperado o FPS inestables ya que eso se va mejorando con actualizaciones. El juego es un juego de muchos premios. Está echo para divertirnos y si que lo hace, llevo 20 horas. No se dejen llevar por haters.

    Another EA flop. Makes me wonder how this company is still around. It’s a very mediocre busy work game. Not sure if Xbox or EA is to blame for lack of frame rates randomly. I really hope Star Wars finds other companies to create games

Ever since then I’ve been lucky to get this game to get past the main menu, let alone actually load into a game for longer than 30 seconds. This was probably my most anticipated game of my entire life and I have absolutely zero way of playing it. Even paid for the $300 collectors edition, what a waste. STOP PUTTING OUT INCOMPLETE GAMES PLEASE AND THANK YOU.… Expand

    The game is as good as fallen order, BUT there is no excuse for the fact that it runs at 1440p in quality mode on a Series X.

    Graphics are a solid 8.5/10, sometimes it takes a second to load the textures. Gameplay is a solid 9/10. Game design is a solid 10/10. Level design is a solid 6/10. Maps are not intuitive, it was an issue for me in Fallen Order, it's better in Survivor, but    The game is as good as fallen order, BUT there is no excuse for the fact that it runs at 1440p in quality mode on a Series X.

    Pour le reste, amateur de starwars, ne boudez pas votre plaisir, ce Jedi Survivor est vraiment sympa. Vivement la suite.    … Expand

    Im already on NG+, this game is far superior to its predecessor, it has enhanced the mechanics of the last game to its maximum, the history also is better and the game is more fun to play.
    One thing I really liked was the stances, you adquire 5 stances being the single blade, double blade, dual wield, cross guard and the blaster, now on NG+, I changed my main stances and I see that the    Im already on NG+, this game is far superior to its predecessor, it has enhanced the mechanics of the last game to its maximum, the history also is better and the game is more fun to play.

    So eventually I had rated this 9 because of the few frame drops I had throughout the game specifically at pyloons saloon, But I decided that this game is a 10, it is the perfect sequel. Definitely as of right now my game of the year

    After more than 30 hours, this game is a clear candidate for the best game of the year and of the generation, a masterpiece that takes everything good that Fallen Order had and improves it, gigantic settings, better combat system and jumps and secondary objectives in which it is a pleasure to get lost and enjoy it more than 50 hours to complete it to 100. the best star wars game in history

    Unfortunately the fight system was not improved much, but still the adventure and plaftormer parts are great, with a cool open world, exploring, music, SW vibes. Bigger than the previous one, good logical puzzles, and lightsaber, yes lightsaber!

    Review bombs are ridiculous. Jedi Survivor exceeds Fallen Order in nearly every aspect minus potentially the overall story. This is a must play for Star Wars fans. Performance has taken a hit or two with some of the patches, but it’s more than reasonable. great great game.

    This game should be a 9/10, Respawn quite literally improved every aspect that I loved from Fallen Order and dialed it to eleven. From the combat, to the enemies, the skill tree, the story, characters, the customization(rip ponchos), and the open world, this game can definitely compete for GOTY. What unfortunately holds this game back to a 7/10 is it's obvious poor performance. In my experience I have had 4 game crashes and numerous drops in FPS. Although my crashes appear to be random, I've noticed that the drops of FPS occur in large areas with good amounts of enemies. All of this occurred on my Series X which is supposed to be one of the best performance consoles on the market. I'm sure EA had a hand in releasing this game early when it obviously should've been delayed. So if your looking to get Jedi Survivor, know what your getting into before hand.    … Expand

    Platforming. In the previous game platforming was too often frustrating. For example rope swings were a source of much frustration to the point I never beat the first game. This has largely been fixed in the current game. In Jedi Survivor I had no trouble with the rope swings and felt the controls for the rest of the platforming was made easier. This is not to say that the platforming is now easy as there certainly are areas will you will die a few times until you figure out the timing and pattern. I suggest turning off fall damage so you lose no health when you respawn after a fall.

    Combat. In a word, fun. I am old and long ago lost my ninja reflexes so I play on the 2nd easiest difficulty setting which made combat much easier but not too easy. I did switch to the easiest difficulty a few times during the more challenging combat sequences. Combat is much like in the first game, fast paced and fun. A new addition to your Jedi powers allows for turning an enemy to an ally for a short period of time which adds an interesting strategic element to combat. The game is a power fantasy that when you nail the timing makes you feel like an unstoppable force.

    Story. Above average. In most games I skip through the dialogue as the story tends to be boring, not well written or acted. The story in Jedi Survivor kept me interested till the end.

    Issues. Graphics in some areas looked muddy and washed out. A couple of the cutscenes had slight lip syncing issues. Overall the issues were minor and I am sure will be patched soon, although it would be nice if games were released when ready.

    All in all a massive improvement over the previous game. I really liked the game world, the lightsaber and blaster combo and yes, even the platforming which I usually hate in games. For this reason I give the game a 9 out of 10.    … Expand

The combat is satisfying with a little challenge to keep you earning those victories. The visuals were beautiful.     I don’t understand what’s been happening with developers lately, even in quality mode - low resolution, and in performance mode it’s just a nightmare, and even with fps drop, as if I’m back in the days of Xbox one, I’m already ready to buy pro versions of consoles, because I feel like it will only get worse.

    I am on console and have only experienced one crash in my first 6 hours of play with no other real performance issues. So i don't have a problem with that.     The people hating on the devs seem to not know how game development works. Long story short you have to apply for disk certification months in advance, and once you're certified you have to submit your game even if it's broken. From that point until release day the devs work double time to patch the game and get it to work. Don't think that the devs knew it'd be broken on launch day, because it's impossible to know if the game will launch broken until the day it launches. You can't delay a game hours before release, and hence the game launched with bad performance on PC. Respawn just drew a bad roll, and there's nothing they could have done about it.    … Expand

If I skip the cut scene, it just results in black screen and then crash. I've tried the usual work around such as deleting and download the game again to a console factory reset etc. Nothing works!     On Series X I've played this game for about 8-12 hours so far, and it's been the main game my console has been on. I've had 2 complete crashes to the dashboard, but that's not uncommon the first week any game is out. As far as framerate, It's pretty solid in quality mode, I haven't noticed any slowdowns really. And Performance mode is fluid AF. Just seamless animation when it's locked at 1440 for framerate.
    The Story so far is engaging and I'm very much enjoying it. Not very deep into it yet, but it's been rewarding and fun. The new lightsaber stances are enjoyable too, and take some getting used to, but I'm loving Blaster and Crossguard.

    All in all, the game isn't bad, and it isn't perfect, but on Series X I haven't had any performance issues (with the exception of those crashes) and if my Xbox is on, this game has been running.
    8/10 so far, and I'll update if that changes one way or the other.    … Expand

I wouldn't    Jedi Survivor is a total disaster on Xbox Series X the frame rate in performance mode is a shame, and who wants to play at 30fps in 2023?
    Why put effects like raytracing in water when it drops the frame rate?
    The resolution drops below 720p, this game is a bad joke sold at a high price, just like Cd Projekt Red for Cyberpunk 2077 Respawn don't give a damn about the players.

    While yes this game does have some performance issues and in some parts feels as if they forced the release just to get it out in time, the positives in this game far outweigh the negatives and it is worth every penny. The story is very good, the characters and character development is phenomenal. The villains are very good.     I’ve not experienced many of the performance issues that sadly is seeing this game being review bombed. Survivor improves on what made FO great. Improved traversal, improved combat, better set pieces as expected on superior hardware. A solid AAA title, not perfect or particularly innovative, but highly entertaining at its best, a little repetitive at its worst.     I had to refund this game on Xbox Series X. The performance mode was not performant at all. It looked terrible on the LG OLED which doesn't do well with low frame rates. I can't wait to buy it again in the future when it's fixed and a lower price... SMH... That's what I get for supporting a developer I like.

    I am truly loving this game as it has expanded on Fallen Order. I have had this game freeze twice though when entering koboh and luckily nothing else. Would of gave it a 10 without said freezes, but again my opinion could change as I have not finished said game totally. . And I totally believe people are having issues that should not be present.

    Loving it so far. Loved Fallen Order and this is more than just "more of the same". Its improved and is exactly what I wanted from it. I seem to be oblivious to all the moans and groans of performance and stuttering. If it stutters or dips occasionally it goes straight over my head. Im too immersed in the world to care. LOVE IT.

As for the XB-SX version it runs pretty smooth on quality mode and had only minor problems: -small barley noticeable FPS drops while fighting like 10 enemies -Textures loading in a bit to slow -Game crashed once while I was spraying too much of the Metal stuff around but I think that's    Wow.     El juego es una maravilla. Mejora a Fallen Orden en todos los aspectos. En Xbox se ve estupendamente. Creo que unos cuantos jugadores de otras plataformas (ps5 y PC) con dificultad para entender cosas simples (o pura maldad) han entrado en la versión de Xbox para poner mala puntuación, pero nada de ello es cierto para esta versión.

    Having played for 3 days now I can safely say that the developers have listened to the critiques of the previous game and made the necessary improvements. This game feels so much larger with many more options. The second world is so enormous that it literally feels endless.

    Terrible performance. I've stopped playing once you reach the second planet it goes from bad to worse. I've stopped playing until it's patched. The game itself is fun but feels a bit bloated in comparison to the lean and fast paced original. Less is more. Fix your game.

    The Survivor artists have captured the aesthetic of Episodes I-VI so compellingly that the distant planets will engulf you like a sarlacc. At the same time, the writers reflect the reality of the Star Wars animated and live-action series, reaching back to the ancient era of the High Republic. Everything blends into one in Survivor. It represents the best that Star Wars gaming can currently give. [Issue#327]

    Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a true gift to every and any person who adores Star Wars universe. But sadly the actual trend of undercooked releases littered with technical issues might sour your experience with an otherwise great game.
