Sep 22, 2025I don't know how it might be received by the most hardcore Silent Hill purists, but once you've played the first few minutes of the game and gotten into the swing of things, you quickly forget that feeling and you realize that you're in front of an exceptional work in the genre that keeps you hooked like very few games manage to . For me, it's a 10/10 game. I could probably be more meticulous and find some snags in the combat system and some mechanics, but they're minor things, and I can say, without fear, that Konami is coming back in a big way with this new Silent Hill.

Oct 9, 2025I went into Silent Hill F armed with decades of Silent Hill nostalgia and a general negative view of Konami. I'd say I almost wanted to hate this game, being honest. But I found it simply impossible to do so. Every step I took through Ebisugaoka led me down an authentic Silent Hill rabbit hole filled with horrors, fresh and familiar alike—stunning artwork, immaculate music, and disturbing twists that left me aghast for hours after the fact. Silent Hill F is by no means perfect, but it's a strong return to form for the franchise, and hopefully a sign of things to come. NeoBard nailed it.

Oct 6, 2025Silent Hill f is absolutely brilliant, 90% of the time. The tension, as well as the atmosphere that the graphics and sound create is amazing, really drawing you in; play this game in the dark with headphones on and you’ll understand what I mean.

Oct 27, 2025Silent Hill f is beautifully grotesque and fresh. The game is a change that the series needed. It doesn’t have the same rules as the Team Silent games, but it has familiar elements that those game had such as metaphorical meaning. I’m very pleased with the overall progression that Silent Hill f has to offer for the franchise. Just like Team Silent games, you start out not really knowing what is going on and then start to pick up on things as the story progresses. If you’re a fan of the Team Silent games, be sure to give Silent Hill f a try. The game is a big change for the series, but it still has the Silent Hill elements at its core.

Sep 23, 2025Silent Hill F is a great survival horror title, and a true return to the classic series from Konami. It mixes things up well throughout its roughly 10-hour runtime, and I enjoyed both what the more grounded and the more hellish areas of the game had to offer. As a relative newbie to Silent Hill I can't wait to see where things go from here, and I really think developer NeoBards has what it takes to learn from F and improve on it for what's next. Silent Hill is finally back on Xbox, and it was worth the wait.

Sep 22, 2025Silent Hill f is first and foremost a bold gamble, a reinvention that ventures into uncharted territory. It creates a persistent strangeness, deeply imbued with Japanese folklore, that is as disconcerting as it is captivating. Its clumsy combat and excessive action weigh down the experience, but its universe, its characters, and its soundscape impose a unique identity, which pushes us to scratch away its layers of mystery until the last minute. Imperfect but striking, Silent Hill f will undoubtedly remain as the episode that dared to redefine fear through the prism of Japanese culture, with flashes of brilliance that we never forget.

Sep 21, 2025Silent Hill f is a beautiful game, with deep lore and a compelling story that makes it shine. However, its qualities are held back by dated gameplay mechanics and a poor and misleading puzzle text translation (reviewed in Italian). Yet it's an experience worth living, especially for its impressive narrative strength and world-building.

Nov 29, 2025Silent Hill F leaves you with mixed feelings, as it clearly has two distinct halves. A brilliant and terrifying first half, and a second half with too much action that becomes overly tiresome. And although it ends up straying from the franchise experience, the real problem is that you find yourself wishing it would end.

Oct 17, 2025Silent Hill f is a solid entry in the series even if it bucks all the reason to be a Silent Hill game. I still feel like this would have been a great original title. The combat is its biggest weakness and the chasm of fun between the real world and the Shrine Realm really drives that home. I am glad Silent Hill is back, but I do wish they had made the combat a bit more fun and interesting.

Sep 22, 2025Silent Hill f is a strange concoction. It should be played, if you are a fan, but it suffers a lack of first-rate scares.

Oct 15, 2025Silent Hill F fascinates with its narrative ambitions and its floral and morbid aesthetic. It offers a poetic and introspective reinterpretation of the saga, supported by remarkable art direction and sound design. However, its rigid gameplay, frustrating mechanics, the complexity of certain puzzles, the clunky camera and the lack of diversity in the creatures and settings prevent it from truly winning us over. Despite a more action-oriented focus and perhaps overly high expectations on our part, Silent Hill F never managed to provide us with as much emotional intensity as the remake of Silent Hill 2. This new episode, promising on paper, turned out to be a bittersweet disappointment. A strange and beautiful flower... but one that failed to fully blossom.
