I would give this a 3 but I think the game has potential to be a lot of fun if the performance issues are fixed. On a series x and I can't pan the camera all the way around the player without stuttering, that is just an example of how bad it is in this game. Even when everything has loaded after the first pass the second pan stutters too. I don't understand how their engine is having such an issue but this game is not optimized for Series X as is listed in the features. Expand

Played on Xbox Series S, not X. What I liked the most was the art style, the very open exploration, and lack of combat. After games like Dark Souls and Assassin's Creed, it was nice just to chill out, climb and glide, and solve some simple puzzle tasks. At the same time, it gets a little samey with what you can do and the vehicle experience is a bit rough. In the end I did what I felt likePlayed on Xbox Series S, not X. In the end I did what I felt like completing and left maybe 15% content undone and ended the game and it was satisfying enough. Just like Journey, this is certainly a game to play if you need a change of pace. Expand

Sable clearly has its share of flaws, but it makes a pretty good argument for style mattering more than substance.

Sable is a beautiful game, with an astonishing soundtrack and artistic vision, that show us the journey of self-discovery of our young protagonist through an exotic planet, full of sand, mountains and spaceships.

Sable is one of the latest games to get a day one release on Xbox’s Game Pass service so it’s almost impossible to not give it a recommendation for anyone with a subscription, but on the whole, I was somewhat let down. The game has some of the most visually stunning graphics I’ve seen, but the gameplay gets repetitive. Exploring the desolate expanse on your own terms is not as fun as it sounds; however, a compelling series of quests and wonderful writing throughout are just enough to keep you hooked and justify the price of admission if you’re already a Game Pass subscriber.
