Riders Republic is the game designed for all lovers of extreme sports, orphans of a product capable of satisfying their desire for adrenaline. The new Ubisoft title, net of some technical problems, is the new meeting place for fans of tricks and thrilling races.

Riders Republic isn't called Steep 2 because of new gameplay functionnalities and its added little bit of craziness, but at its core it really is just a sequel, without much innovation. Still fun to play though, if you find your own pace through the repetitiveness.

Riders Republic is a fun game that offers a wide range of exhilarating and unique activities that mostly benefit from its 'always online' gameplay model, but also suffers from a few shortcomings. The world feels alive, the Events are a blast and the game looks gorgeous. However, some aspects of the game are a little lacking at launch, namely the multiplayer modes, customisation and air sports.

Riders Republic’s failures in effectively catering for newcomers - despite its excellent range of accessibility features - are clear for me as a newbie. But anyone experienced with this genre will have a bloody fantastic time here, and it's well worth picking up if you’re into it.

Ubisoft builds upon the framework of Steep with this enjoyably eccentric open world extreme sports adventure. [Eurogamer Recommended]

Let’s not kid ourselves: Riders Republic was a disappointment. Even if it’s not a bad game per se, the title offers a gameplay that is globally too arcade-like and doesn’t manage to sustain the player’s interest over time. It’s a pity because there are some good ideas such as the possibility to create your own challenges or the Mass Races, all of it on a huge and varied playground. With a more fine-tuned gameplay, a general tone that doesn’t miss the point as much and a better made customisation system, we would have had a game as service solid enough to be praised among extreme sports fans.

After that itWhen I first started playing this game, I really thought I was going to enjoy it. Well, that lasted for about an hour or so. After that it became one of the most frustrating games I've played in a long time. If you enjoy cheap mechanics that constantly screw you, you are going to love this game! You are going to get bumped so many times in races. A lot of those bumps from the ghost opponents are going to cause you to crash or mess up and have to start from the beginning. By the 20th or 25th time of having to start a race over because you make one tiny mistake or get bumped by the ghost opponents, you are going to want to pull your hair out.

If you aren't frustrated yet, just wait until you've restarted the game for the 15th time because it randomly crashed.

Not frustrated yet from the game crashing or screwing you over in races? Well, just keep playing and I'm sure after you've heard the same song 25 times in a row (it restarts the same song over when you restart a race), you will rather bang your head against a wall than keep putting up with the crap Riders Republic sends your way.

On top of all that, I bought the Ultimate Edition and it still won't give me any of the cosmetics that come with that edition. So Ubisoft again releases another half-baked game and screws their customers. Don't let them screw you too!

I definitely won't be playing this game again until they address all these issues. You probably won't have much fun playing Riders Republic either until they actually finish the game and fix all these issues.

The sense of speed you have when you drive your bike down a hill with multiple people all around you is so awesome. The map is giant but never feels empty. So much to discover and do.

Moving around does not get boring because you can always change up how you move and the natural vistas are beautiful.

Only downside are the dialogues but just ignore those and you will have an amazing time.

Hope this game will get a large community and will get supported for many years with more events, outfits and perhaps even more sports (skateboard for instance). Best purchase I made this year. Highly recommended.
