May 13, 2025Revenge of the Savage Planet is a worthy successor to the previous game, especially if you have a buddy to take along for the ride.
-
May 5, 2025Revenge of the Savage Planet is a fantastic Metroidvania Sci-fi adventure. It can be enjoyed alone or locally and online with another. The drip-fed mechanics, exploration elements, and vibrant worlds are a joy to experience. Though the action can sometimes feel overwhelming, this shouldn't put you off. Accordingly, it is a gem of a game and a must-play experience.

May 16, 2025It's a game worth every minute spent exploring, feeling free, and, most importantly, having fun like kids . It's a must-have on Xbox Game Pass and, without a doubt, a gem in the Xbox catalog. If you still have doubts, play it and discover it for yourself. I'm almost certain you'll have a great time.

May 21, 2025Revenge of the Planet successfully shifts the series to a third person perspective in order to bring us a sequel that's a slicker and more confident affair all round. This is a colourful, clever and creative romp at every turn - one that's enhanced significantly when played in co-op - and a game that gives you a cool world stuffed full of silly creatures, crazy weapons, and a ton of possibilities to get lost in exploring. Come for the co-op, stay for the Grob, we always say.
-
May 19, 2025Witty and self-aware, Revenge of the Savage Planet is a fun, breezy sequel ideal for co-op play. Some bugs remain, but its charm and humor make it well worth checking out.

May 5, 2025A sequel that eclipses its forebear in just about every department, Revenge of the Savage Planet is an immensely enjoyable platforming adventure with a lovely vein of slapstick comedy and daft satire lampooning unchecked corporate avarice.

May 19, 2025If you took the journey five years ago to Journey to the Savage Planet, you’ll want to book a trip to Revenge of the Savage Planet as well. Marmite humour and low-key exploration pleasures aside, Revenge of the Savage Planet is a good and enjoyable time that allows you to scan to your heart’s content and mosey through unknown landscapes to complete objectives and challenges en route to your ultimate revenge. Revenge of the Savage Planet won’t take up much of your time either, but just know that this brand of revenge is a dish served with a slice of weirdness and a platter of squirt burgers—meaning you should just go and have fun for a while.

May 14, 2025Journey to the Savage Planet was a pleasant surprise because it offered us the chance to delve into a kind of Metroid Prime that was much more casual than Retro Studios' title. Now, Revenge of the Savage Planet leaves that path behind and opts for massive content, despite being very consistent in most of its gameplay. It's a fun game packed with things to do, but we missed the more adventurous development of the first installment in the series. It's still a very enjoyable action-exploration title, especially in the company of a friend.

May 5, 2025Revenge of the Savage Planet bursts with charm and smart systems but stumbles over clunky UI, repetition and performance hiccups. Look past its flaws, and you’ll find a colorful, co-op-fueled adventure that leaves you wanting more.

May 13, 2025Revenge of the Savage Planet is a successful and improved sequel to its predecessor with a larger universe, four planets to explore and a change of perspective to third person. We appreciate its enriched and smoother gameplay, new weapons and the addition of local co-op which really add to the fun. We are also delighted to see the return of the game's slapstick humour and colourful art direction, which remain key elements that reinforce its unique identity. Despite a few minor bugs and some aspects that may divide opinion, such as the third-person view and the absurd parody, this intergalactic adventure, while not revolutionising the genre, remains enjoyable and will delight fans of exploration. We recommend playing it with a friend. Since it is already available in Xbox Game Pass, it would be a shame to miss out!
