Rematch may not knock Rocket League off its perch for a competitive soccer game, but if you are not a fan of cars and prefer the instant arcade action then this is a game that can get you hooked. I am a massive football fan, and I also like Rocket League and Rush from EAFC, so I am impressed with this offering. I have played many times with friends, and it is so easy to lose hours of fun to this game as it’s a joy to win and not that painful to lose.

Not only is Rematch a wonderful game built for football fans, it’s a one of a kind multiplayer experience that everyone should try, regardless of their football enthusiasm.

Sloclap delivers with Rematch an exotic and gripping football game that, thanks to specialized gameplay systems, promises countless hours of fun. It strikes a perfect balance between tactical depth and arcade-style action, while boasting high replayability and a unique, innovative feel I haven’t experienced in a football game for years. Still, issues like flawed matchmaking, minimal battle pass content, and chaotic play with random teammates prevent a Ballon d'Or nomination—but give it a few seasons, and Rematch might just become the undisputed champion of football games.

Rematch is a great game, but it lacks a bit more variety in game modes and consistency in gameplay to become one of the best team-based multiplayer games. Easy to approach but complex to master, with its own unique style and that magnetic charm of football that's hard for us Italians to ignore, Rematch is a pleasant surprise and we hope that its arrival on Game Pass will allow Slocap to create a user base large enough to build upon the foundations of this interesting mix between Rocket League and Volta.

Rematch is an addictive blend of Rocket League and real football that's sure to prove a hit on Xbox Game Pass and beyond. The difficult controls might put some people off in the early hours, but its "just one more game" feel should keep most people playing beyond the teething period - and that's when it really comes into its own. The developers have done a fantastic job with this one, and I can't wait to see how it evolves in the weeks, months and years to come.

In the end Sloclap has unintentionally put a lot of roadblocks in the way of both your ability to enjoy and desire to purchase Rematch, but behind all that is one of the best feeling soccer games ever made waiting to blossom and be discovered, as long as you can see past those roadblocks and don’t mind paying up front for the potential this game has for the future.

ReMatch dreams of being a concentrated action game and an arcade alternative that's both easy to access and challenging. At the start, this is partly the case, and some of its promises are kept: you can feel its potential, the games with friends are wild, and it's hard to put it down. However, Sloclap's title isn't yet up to the task of lasting 90 minutes. Lacking content and fine-tuning, the coming months will need to be dedicated to training if ReMatch has the ambition to lift a major trophy in the world of sports gaming.

Despite an addictive concept that emphasizes teamwork, dynamic roles, and fun arcade-style football, Rematch suffers from technical issues, limited gameplay variety, and a lack of offline content, making it feel more like a promising early version than a fully polished game.

Rematch is a contradictory experience. On the one hand, it is an original, intense and fun proposal. On the other hand, it is an online game that seems unfinished, lacking structure and with debatable design decisions. If Sloclap manages to polish its flaws and add the necessary social tools, it could become a benchmark in multiplayer arcade soccer.

Rematch is the kind of sports game that throws out the fluff and dares you to bring the skill. It doesn’t want to hold your hand. It wants to cross you up, score on you, and ask politely if you’d like a rematch. It’s not for everyone though, even with it being on Game Pass. There’s no single-player campaign, no casual local couch mode, and no elaborate progression system to dress up your player like a walking peacock. But what’s here is focused, fast, and infuriatingly fun. It’s soccer by way of the fighting game genre: twitchy, intense, and one mistake away from disaster. For me, someone who isn’t a soccer fan, I can appreciate what this game is doing but for fans of this form of football I know you will vibe with Rematch.

Sloclap has delivered nice, crunchy mechanics like it did with Absolver and Sifu, making Rematch an immediate, accessible, and above all enjoyable arcade-style football game. It’s Rocket League without the rocket cars. But whether you'll be playing it this time next year, I'm not entirely convinced.

It pains me to have to score Rematch so low. As an online action game fan, my heart was an open goal here. However, a rushed launch has led to a mountain of problems that make this a recommendation only for Game Pass subscribers. Do not spend money on this game in this state. My hope is that we can revise this score at a later date, should Sloclap address the issues.
