    I'll keep this pretty brief. The game is not nearly bad enough to justify all of these zeros, however it is pretty mid, and would struggle to justify a AAA price tag.

    The structure seeks to mix Arcane's immersive sim background with a Far Cry like open world shooter. However it falls short in terms of: fun, graphics, story, and any sense that exploring the town would be entertaining.    I'll keep this pretty brief.     Gran bel gioco, ci ho giocato ieri un paio di ore. Mi è piaciuto molto, sia graficamente, sia artisticamente, sia come storia sia come doppiaggio italiano. Veramente ben fatto. Mi ha dato ottime sensazioni su Serie X, ci ho giocato con la patch del day One, 30fps ma molto stabili. Nessun bug o freeze riscontrato. A me di quello che dice la community frega meno di 0. I giochi se miGran bel gioco, ci ho giocato ieri un paio di ore. Mi è piaciuto molto, sia graficamente, sia artisticamente, sia come storia sia come doppiaggio italiano. Veramente ben fatto. Story missions slowly reveal the plot, sidequests reward experience, loot and new guns. The city itself as a location is quite compact, at first impression a little smaller even than the map in Battleroyal like Fortnite. But this is more a plus than a minus: there are no empty spaces, the location is well designed, a lot of nooks, installations, everything is arranged intelligently. And for example in the quest houses, if not all, then almost all can be entered differently.

    The city is very atmospheric, each location is like a frame from the horror movies of 80-90 years.

    Performance on Xbox Series X norm: the game goes in 4k and keeps 30 fps, sometimes there are problems with the loading of textures, met a couple of bugs with hanging enemies. There are problems with AI opponents.

    Redfall is not an expensive project of Deathloop, Hi-Fi Rush or Returnal level. Of course, it was a mistake to sell the game for 70$ and position it as a AAA project (by the way, I have the same complaints about Deathloop and Returnal - they are good niche games, but the price tag is obviously overrated).

    I don't really understand the bluster about the game, everything is much better than it's presented. Redfall instead of being another niche game in the subscription got seriously screwed.

    Arcane game fans wanted Dishonored 3, Xbox fans were waiting for another "Sony answer", Sony fans are dancing on Phil's bones making things worse, that's the way it is :D

    The game is available on Game Pass, I recommend you to read it yourself and make your own opinion. As a fan of old horror games, I was hooked by Redfall. The game is interesting, but unfortunately could have been less problematic on release.

    The first playthrough of the game on mah available difficulty took 18 hours, now I will wait for patches and try Redfall on the last difficulty level.    … Expand

    The games story, doesn't seem terrible but becomes very tiresome very fast. The boss fights are terribly boring.

    The worst part is you can see the foundation of what looks to be a pretty cool/decent game.     A shooter based around killing bloodsucking vampires made by Arkane should have been one of the best games Bethesda has to offer and yet, it seems we've received the exact opposite. An unfinished, unoptimised, soulles piece of digital garbage for the cost of 75$. By far the most disappointing release of the year.

    I hope one day, this game gets better, but right now I'm giving it 1/10, and maybe I will return someday to check if it's getting better. Sure, it works, but it's not fun at all, and all those broken promises and poor state that game shipped in is just is not acceptable. I think there is still hope for this game, it has potential, so let's wait and see...

    As a long time owner of an xbox since 2001 this has to be the worse game i have ever played in my entire life! Me and the wife no joke started this game the day it released and after that played it up to the 2nd map area of the game and called it quits there for months! We started the game in may 2023 and then didnt start playing the game again until the month of september 2023. Only reason we keep coming back to it after awhile is just so we can complete the main story other than that we have no reason to even attempt to perfect this game (100% the achievements list) I rather not do that what so ever!     Waited a while try this game out as a lot of the eary reviews were pretty negative, so I decided to let the tides calm a bit before trying the game out. It’s a bad game but nowhere near as bad as I was expecting it to be… it does feel a bit rushed and unfortunately suffers from a lot of bugs. With it being a AAA title it feels a lot like a home brewed indie game.     Xbox lied to us about the 60fps, there's no patch in sight, Starfield is coming out and it's still not released. Yet, Xbox wants to push 4 games a year? In this state?!

    The game is not super bad has an ok story. The gameplay is not that bad. i have put sometime in the game and some of the missions are funny. i enjoyed the time i have played this game. And i plan on spending more time with this game.

    leggendo certi pareri, si nota che si è trascurato tutto quello che il titolo aveva di buono da offrire, e che molte persone hanno completamente chiuso gli occhi sulla totalità del prodotto, dicendo che era completamente da buttare.
    ed ora che con l'ultima patch una buon parte dei problemi sono stati migliorati, ad oggi il titolo risulta non un capolavoro ma quantomeno piacevole da    leggendo certi pareri, si nota che si è trascurato tutto quello che il titolo aveva di buono da offrire, e che molte persone hanno completamente chiuso gli occhi sulla totalità del prodotto, dicendo che era completamente da buttare.

    ma ad oggi il gioco funziona e diverte.
    uno dei punti più criticati ovvero l'ia.
    è sicuramente basilare, ma almeno ora ti sparano se ti vedono.
    e risulta essere una normalissima ia da giochi coop, dove la difficoltà non è incentrata sul singolo nemico ma più sul gruppo.
    mentre per i vampiri, basta incontrare un gruppetto di 3/4 per diventare degli avversari veramente temibili che mi hanno fatto morire in diverse occasioni. in qualche occasione capita che si incastrano, ma nella totalità del gioco funzionano bene.
    senza contare che giocarlo da soli nelle fasi più complicate diventa davvero molto impegnativo, e per non renderlo impossibile, il gioco mantiene i danni fatti ai nemici anche se muori, ad eccezione dei boss principali.
    questo per molti potrebbe essere una semplificazione, ma che appunto se lo si gioca in solitaria e quindi non si hanno compagni che ti rianimano risulta essere un buon compromesso per non renderlo troppo frustrante.
    l'ambientazione del gioco vedendola dai trailer non mi aveva mai convinto.
    ma vederlo sulla tv di casa fa tutto un altro effetto.
    ovviamente rimane un titolo che poteva tranquillamente girare su xbox one, e che invece gira solo su next gen a 30 fps, il che fa un po strano, ma comunque è più piacevole del previsto.
    la qualità delle mappe alla arkane si perde molto in una mappa così aperta, però allo stesso tempo non è così vasta, e con diverse zone interne da esplorare.
    oltre al fatto che molte zone ci puoi accedere con diversi approcci, o entrando in edifici da zone differenti, o magari andare prima in una zona per facilitarne un'alta.
    come detto non al livello che ci ha abituato arkane ma comunque nemmeno assente come spesso si sente.
    diciamo che si sente di più lo stile arkane in questo titolo, piuttosto di sentire lo stile obsidian in un gioco tipo grounded, però stranamente in quel caso nessuno ha detto nulla perchè non era nata una polemica sterile.
    il gioco offrirà tanti piccoli segreti da trovare, tra cui messaggi audio o messaggi testuali da leggere che ti raccontano il mondo di gioco.
    peccato che quando leggi il gioco non va in pausa anche se giochi da solo, e lo stesso vale quando vuoi cambiare arma, e questo genererà una problematica per chi come me ha scelto la via del gioco solitario.
    il gioco in alcuni punti sembra strutturato sul pensare che tu non stai giocando da solo.
    e lo si vede da piccole cose tipo i poteri che sono spezzettati tra i 4 personaggi, andando inevitabilmente a precludere alcune abilità.
    ma questa è la parte meno pesante e che si nota meno.
    come detto il gioco non va in pausa quando devi cambiare arma, e quindi non puoi cambiarla durante uno scontro, tutto ok, se non fosse che alcuni nemici si sconfiggono con armi apposite, e noi potremo portare con noi soltanto 3 armi.
    quindi dovremo avere sempre con noi almeno un'arma per trafiggere/bruciare i vampiri, mentre è consigliato avere un'arma a raggi uv che ti permette di eliminare dei fastidiosi nemici che generano una nebbia rossa dove subiamo danno se ci entriamo.
    però almeno in questo caso è un'arma che risulterà fondamentale in pochissime situazioni, mentre nella quasi totalità del prodotto potremo evitare la nebbia passando per altre zone.
    ma risulta ovvio che se si vuole avere un'efficienza al massimo delle potenzialità, poter portare con sé solo 3 armi risulta fin troppo limitante, nelle partite senza altri giocatori.
    difetti a parte, il titolo riesce in pieno ad offrire un'esperienza che si può giocare tranquillamente da soli, e che almeno nel mio caso mi è riuscito ad intrattenere per oltre 25 ore senza annoiarmi.
    un titolo che si poteva indubbiamente fare meglio, specialmente al day 1.
    un titolo che potrebbe far arrabbiare molti fan di arkane.

    questo non toglie il fatto che il titolo abbia fatto grossi errori, ma allo stesso tempo è stato distrutto sotto aspetti che andavano bene fin dal day 1, e che oggi dopo aver sistemato molte cose risulta un tiolo più che piacevole.

    I made to the end of escaping the ferry at the start, and deleted it.

    Flat voice acting, lackluster graphics, terrible controls that felt like piloting a school bus on ice. Aiming was terrible, moving was a chore, combat was unbelievably poor.

    I was really interested in this game when it was first announced, a vampire hunter with cool powers. But the story is boring and the scenes are just pictures with voice. Locking it at 30fps definitely didn’t help the graphic

    Encounters - You fight the same basic enemies, and early on the game introduces a few mini-boss enemies that don't show up that often. Missions also feel very similar in their design. Outside missions, the world doesn't have much else to offer. Also, even though the world is small, it feels empty in most areas that are not mission locations.

    Weird Gun Progression - The way the game gives you weapons feels off. I usually just use weapons dropped by the rook or sold in the firehouse. Pretty much all the lootable weapons in the game seem like they are only meant to be scrap. They are usually either worse than the weapons you have or are the same as the ones you have but they don't have unique properties or buffs that beg you to switch up your loadout that often.

    Story - It can get a bit interesting at certain parts, but that's if you sit through the slideshows and audio logs. It feels like Arkane just animated that one cutscene at the beginning of the game and stopped.

    Environment/Atmosphere - The actual environment and atmosphere are also good parts of the game. The environments are detailed and interesting. The atmosphere is also good, but the sound/music can be a bit weird at times. For the music, it was good and made a spooky atmosphere in most parts of the world, but some areas like the firehouse have trap-like music playing. I have just accepted it and it doesn't bother me, but it's a subjective topic.

    Graphics/Bugs - Even after patch 1.1, there are still many bugs that pull the entire experience down more. There are still weird ones with the map, subtitles, graphics, sound, stability, and more. The graphical side of the game is just broken, there's not much to say about it.

    More - There's still stuff I haven't talked about, including topics like UI and things I didn't talk about in topics I wrote about above. It's a "meh" game that can improve a bit over time. This review is only looking at the game itself. I'm not going to bring up anything about development, broken promises, staffing issues, and other things.

    Future - This will not impact the score at all, but Redfall can improve. If State of Decay 2 is to go by, then a small team at Arkane Austin can make Redfall a better game. They can still roll out patches to fix bugs, AI, graphics, and more. They could also possibly fix issues relating to content. It could probably go from a 3-5/10 game to a 6-7/10 one.    … Expand

    It was free on game pass so I tried to play it and do mean tried. Devs have claimed that Microsoft forced them to take it from a single player game to co-op which takes away from XBOX CEO claims that they took a hands of approach. Regardless of who is to blame or to be believed the game is a steaming pile of Xbox crap i hope upcoming games can help lift the name brand up .

    This is not the worst game I've ever played, but it's still bad. The graphics feel one or two generations old. There is very little plot. The layout of the town incentivizes fast travel instead of exploration. The characters are imbalanced and their backstories aren't filled out. Playing it on Gamepass wasn't bad, but I can't imagine paying for it.

    The game takes place during a vampire invasion, wherein a group of legendary survivors must step up. RedFall features four charismatic and very memorable characters: Layla, Jacob, Remi, and Devinder, who each come with their own stunningly original playstyles and wacky backgrounds. While gamers are encouraged to engage in cooperative play, RedFall ensures that a single-player option is not neglected. RedFall is designed to be an online-only title in order to ensure the best single-player experience possible.

    Regarding plot, this game definitely has a story. I would hate to spoil this epic ten-hour campaign, so I will minimize details. However, I would like to suggest that gamers consider putting their friends and family members through this masterwork of a narrative, as the story alone is worth the price of admission. The “Bite Back Edition” is currently priced at $89.99 USD (tax not included, mandatory Xbox Live Gold subscription pricing also not included).

    Regarding gameplay, RedFail absolutely has a shooting experience. The mechanics are incredibly thought out, to the point where RedFall can realistically compete with Doom Eternal and MachineGames’s Wolfenstein titles. The looter aspect is also so astutely tuned that it gives the greatest looter-shooter of all time—Borderlands 2—a run for its money. However, what differs between these titles is that in RedFall, gamers control vastly less “experienced” characters. Sometimes it felt as though shots just weren’t making impact, and other times it felt as though bullets phased right through enemies. It took considerable time for me to get that these are supernatural creatures, and that while the characters aren't as capable or compelling as B.J. Blazkowicz or the Doomslayer, they were surely relatable—as I myself have never held a gun, nor faced a vampire invasion. This is part of what makes Lena, Jack, Lenny, and Tevinter so iconic. I am looking forward to this characterization return with the two upcoming paid downloadable content protagonists.

    The open world of the titular Redfall is highly representative of how a real-life vampiric invasion would be portrayed. Redfall is a lifeless and empty town, with nothing to do but wander around. However, it is important that I specify that gamers will not be wandering around aimlessly as there are plenty of vampires to point and shoot at. It also helps that when you equip one sight to one gun, that sight is universally applied to all other guns (for the duration of that play session), regardless of specifications.

    While this is just a personal gripe, I was very much taken aback by how disturbing the enemy visuals were in this game. The constant clipping through assets and jagged animations made the vampires unpredictable and added to their supernatural nature. Some of the vampires even reminded me of the eponymous vampire from last year’s hit, Morbius, which I very much appreciated. The enemy designs oftentimes made it very challenging for me to keep my eyes on the screen, among other things. Thankfully, the A.I. in this title is also very accommodating. The aim of the various “Hollow Man Cultists” is on par with Stormtroopers from the Star Wars franchise, as there were countless occasions wherein these opponents were firing directly into the ground, allowing ample time to make a getaway.

    However, there is unfortunately no such thing as a perfect game, as there are a couple of minor issues with this title that stood out to me. For one, RedFall seems to lack any unified creative vision—however, this is only a minor gripe as the game handles both its open world and A.I. expertly well.

    While on the topic of complaints being levied, I have noticed a handful of critiques that claim much more serious and fundamental problems. Complaints cite things like “a lack of content,” “endless bugs,” or that “it feels like a paid beta test.” One particular commentator I saw kept confusing RedFall with 2018’s Fallout 76, which faced the same unjustified scrutiny for its accurate portrayal of a barren and desolate post-nuclear West Virginia. I, for one, do not support these claims as I have not personally encountered any such issues for the duration of my own playtime. Regardless of these comments, in addition to not actually owning an Xbox Series X home gaming console, I very much enjoyed watching others experience this masterpiece for me, nonetheless.

    Ultimately, I cannot recommend RenField enough, so please go out and support this masterpiece. The game currently supports 30 frames-per-second—highly representative of current-gen gaming potential. The future of Xbox is here!    … Expand

    When I played with my friends, we had the pleasure of cleaving vampires that attacked us in all directions.

    The fact xbox decided this game was nearly playable, ready for release and that would satisfy anyone just shows how they dont care about us gamers. The devs BEGED for this game being rebooted or even canceld, yet xbox throw us this incomplete, awful looking piece of media. Xbox need to spend money, time and propper care with their exclusives.     Redfall es sin duda la decepción del año y mas cuando vienen anunciándolo a bombo y platillo tanto tiempo, poca cosa se salva.
    Lo instalé del gamepass sin prejuicios y lo jugué un par de días pero lo desinstalé en unas horas.
    Fps bajísimos con rascones, gráficos de ps3, jugabilidad justita , al menos el diseño artístico se salva pero para mi un juego así no es disfrutable, por suerte no    Redfall es sin duda la decepción del año y mas cuando vienen anunciándolo a bombo y platillo tanto tiempo, poca cosa se salva.

    its **** there is nothing fun at all its just go to a spot kill enemies rinse repeated until the game is done its mindless gameplay and enemies makes the person playing this game get dumber.

    It's a 7.5/10 for me, but I'm giving it a 8 since only integers are allowed. I like the atmosphere of the game, it's nice especially during nighttime. The combat is actually fun when it works, but the AI seems unaware of your presence at times. The performance is acceptable, the game is not fast paced, but I think games in first person view cannot do without 60 fps.     Once upon a time, game studios like Bethesda and Arcane brought out excellent single player games with exciting stories and interesting gameplay mechanics..... But then they let Microsoft buy them out, Phil Spencer said: "Let there be crap" and it became REDFALL

    If you want to play a broken game that gives you motion sickness from the terrible performance as well as the game being **** even if the issues were fixed, than highly recommend!

    What a piece of junk game. There is really nothing more to be said. Doubt they can fix this into something worth playing. Just play something else.

    I understand that coming from Arkane this is absolutely a deception. However, to me it's a solid 6.5/10, which for the last few years in this industry is not that bad. As a solo player, it really saddens me that there is no matchmaking. I'd love to try this with others as I'm sure it's much more fun that way. But even with that, they need to add progress save in multiplayer, the fact thatI understand that coming from Arkane this is absolutely a deception. For the rest, I find the ambiance and exploration pretty fun. I don't really mind the graphics, but with the game being this ugly, no 60fps is a real slap in the face.

    This feels like I'm playing an old game on a first gen PS4. Again, not a huge problem for me, but for 70$, sorry but that's way, way unacceptable. Having game pass, I feel slightly less robbed, but that's the problem with game pass: it makes us more tolerant to BS.

    I think Arkane actually had a fun vision here, and it IS fun. It just needed a solid 6 more months in the oven, which is not an Arkane decision, but a Bethesda/Microsoft problem.

    This is really sad because this release is probably going to make things change at Arkane when I really don't think they should, they probably won't try this genre again for a good while, and that's a damned shame, because Arkane is an incredible studio that I still have a lot of faith in.

    As for Xbox/Bethesda, this makes me very worried about the overall future of the platform, and Starfield. If Starfield is anything short of amazing, I'm selling my Xbox and picking up a new hobby, the gaming industry doesn't make fun and interesting things anymore, just drugs for dopamine addicts, and I can't take it anymore.

    How about Dishonored 3, Arkane?    … Expand

    The result is a game with no identity of its own. Redfall simultaneously wants to be a looter shooter like Borderlands, in an open world like Fallout's, with action like Dying light and a lengthy multiplayer experience like Destiny. But it fails on all counts. The game environments are bleakly empty, the gameplay is wooden. Like the vampires from the world of Redfall, the game has no soul.

    Sadly, Redfall had unbelievable potential and a dynamic studio behind this that is known for quality gaming, but under delivered at quite literally almost every facet of the game. Redfall, unfortunately, should be avoided, and in fact, I hope that the industry starts taking a look at these games and starts evaluating its processes, because if you're only as good as your last game, then Arkane isn't looking good at all.
