Jul 18, 2024Nobody Wants to Die is an incredible experience. Engaging detective gameplay, an incredible soundtrack, and a fascinating noir-yarn come together to create one of my favorite games in a long time.
-
Aug 29, 2024The story of Nobody Wants to Die is an absolute highlight, full of great characters and an amazing world with superb practices and ideas. Further to that, the detective gameplay is fun and interesting, giving you a real feel that you are actually solving a complex crime and motive.

Jul 25, 2024A wonderful surprise mid-year. Nobody Wants to Die is a tightly woven walking sim, with gorgeous environmental art and a compelling story. Anyone interested in this kind of story telling should definitely pick it up.
-
Aug 19, 2024Nobody Wants to Die focuses heavily on this theme and its entire plot revolves around this important question that marks the future of an extreme capitalist society that hides much more than it seems. Without a doubt, one of the best indies of 2024 and an adventure that I 100% recommend… if you are a fan of good narrative.
-
Aug 8, 2024Nobody Wants to Die is a gripping, thought-provoking cyberpunk thriller that’ll sink its claws into you from beginning to end. It may not be the most action-packed experience, but fans of a good slow-burn mystery, with a penchant for the philosophical will love it.

Jul 25, 2024We liked Nobody Wants to Die a lot. Going in blindly, it has been a very pleasant surprise that has captured us from beginning to end, and we believe that those who enjoy this type of narrative will really enjoy it. We repeat that it is an interactive, linear and quite guided story, so do not expect freedom or exploring an open world, but it is the game that Critical Hit Games wanted to make, and they have done it very well. They could have taken a little more risk with the investigations, innovated with the mechanics or even given more freedom when modifying the story, although, being the studio's debut, we understand that they wanted to play it safe. In any case, Nobody Wants to Die seems like a very entertaining and recommendable narrative adventure, as long as you know what you're going for.

Jul 22, 2024Nobody Wants to Die's short announcement-to-launch window and its ambitious concept made us cautious, but that caution was unnecessary in the end. It's a tight, gripping adventure that knows exactly what a great sense of place can do for an experience like this, and we had no trouble blasting through the game in one sitting. A little more gameplay depth wouldn't have gone amiss, and Nobody Wants to Die is overall quite a short game - but it's one that's definitely worth picking up if the visuals and themes on show here speak to your gaming sensibilities. Now, we need to see some sunshine after blasting through this one.

Jul 19, 2024Nobody Wants to Die is an adult and mature game that is not afraid to present itself for what it is. An experience in which the player must do his part to get all the juice out of the proposal. His speech and his debate in a maddening moment of our society takes root with more force thanks to that treatment of immortality that becomes much stronger when life has already put you a few trips and you have learned to understand the truth that hides that Who wants to live forever by Brian May to which the good Freddy Mercury gave voice and talent on stage. Once you get past the incredible voices of its protagonists, the stupendous melodies of its soundtrack and the impeccable work of the art direction, what remains of Nobosy Wants to Die is authentic philosophy, a fine psychological work that proves, once again, that video games can be more, much more, than a mere pressing of buttons in front of the screen.
-
Jul 26, 2024In general, Nobody Wants to Die offers a short but exciting graphic adventure with multiple endings based on decisions made during the resolution of the main case. However, I feel that much of the game unfolds as if it were in ‘automatic mode,’ which hinders my connection with the story and narrative twists. Despite its potential, I believe the game could have been more captivating.
-
Jul 21, 2024Nobody Wants To Die is a strong detective thriller that does great work in immersing players in its dystopic-as-ever vision of near-future New York. While the gameplay loop is ambitious, a lacking protagonist and a gameplay concept that spreads itself too thin ultimately keeps Nobody Wants To Die from realising the full extent of it's potential. Regardless, it's an incredible-looking, amazingly atmospheric debut from a studio whom I can't wait to see more from.
-
Jul 28, 2024Nobody Wants To Die is a bit of a surprise package. I was ready for the crime fiction-infused future noir tropes and the cool post-human sci-fi musings that go with the genre, but I wasn’t ready for the sheer beauty and precision of the visual presentation. With a little polish on the dialogue and narrative tone, plus some deconvolution of the story elements, Nobody Wants To Die could have achieved greatness, but at the very least it’s indicative of a very talented studio with infinite potential, and one that should be watched with a keen eye.

Jul 24, 2024We immediately like Nobody Wants to Die for its controlled and simply sublime cyberpunk film noir atmosphere. We come back for the fabulous choices of staging, the animated universe and the gargantuan settings in which we could get lost for hours. The game nevertheless suffers from a handful of flaws in its narrative, its frustrating gray areas and the absence of a journal in which we could have kept track of convoluted affairs. The walking sim remains pleasant to navigate as a whole but its few mechanics are also regrettably too interventionist.
-
Jul 24, 2024Nobody Wants to Die is a fantastic, wonderfully cinematic sci-fi noir that's over all too soon. Its procedural detective work can be too procedural, but there's the kernel of something really great here.
-
Jul 23, 2024Nobody Wants to Die is a cold water splash reminding us that the concept of a “cinematic experience” doesn't have to be just an empty marketing gimmick or an excuse for gameplay shortcomings. The beautifully designed and neatly presented world, combining the atmosphere of cyberpunk and 20th century detective stories, is an actual protagonist of the game. It's just a shame that sometimes it overshadows the rest of the cast and the story itself.
-
Jul 28, 2024As befits a game about reusing bodies, nothing in Nobody Wants to Die seems thrown away. Indeed, even its metaphoric noir-speak serves to deepen the rich visuals.
-
Jul 19, 2024There is clear quality and potential with Nobody Wants to Die, whether it's the aesthetic and worldbuilding, the performances and mysterious narrative, even the striking and detailed visuals, however, the gameplay itself leaves much to be desired. After four hours of completing what are essentially quick-time events to use many of the tools and systems in place and following a story that may as well be on rails, you begin to lose interest.

Jul 31, 2024Nobody Wants to Die is an immersive narrative experience that excels in its field. Its cyberpunk neo-noir aesthetic blends perfectly with elements of 1940s film noir. With stunning graphics, a remarkable soundtrack and a poignant narrative, the title immerses players in a dark and captivating universe. Despite a few defects and a gameplay that is sometimes too authoritative, it offers a unique and unmissable experience that will appeal to fans of thrillers, investigations and cyberpunk universes.
