Hear firsthand from the original dev team of Ed Boon, John Tobias, John Vogel, and Dan Forden, along with other exclusive interviews, rare concept art, vintage marketing materials, and archival video footage.

The MK Legacy Kollection is a dream come true for me. Growing up with MK from the beginning this hit all the right nostalgia notes. MK is easily one of my favorite gaming franchises and have been a fan for over 30 years and will likely be playing it until my hands no longer work. Digital Eclipse understood the assignment and aced it. I cannot wait to see what they add to this over time, and now I can finally play my beloved MK2 in various forms in one place. If you have ever had any interest in the series this is a must-have.

Developer Digital Eclipse has delivered yet another riveting, reverent compilation of seminal games with rich behind-the-scenes insights, perfect versions of the arcade originals, and a slew of console ports. Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is absolutely essential stuff for anyone with even a passing interest in the fighting game series that allows you to violently kill your rivals. A flawless victory, indeed.

Revisiting the original trilogy is still a blast, especially online, despite many other collections already exploring those games. Padding out the title count with many ports of the same goes is a bit futile, but a good exercise in game preservation.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is yet another tremendous compilation from Digital Eclipse, as it continues to uppercut any challengers to its reign as the king of retro re-releases. The only sticking point in a flawlessly presented collection of games is the games themselves, some of which (especially the non-arcade releases) don't quite manage to break the Test Your Might blocks these days.

All the games are pretty much arcade perfect. The only game with changes from its original platform is MK Trilogy, but those changes are for the better. My main problem with the collection is the spotty online and the fact that it has no lobbies. Lobbies are said to be coming soon. Hopefully, the existing problems can be fixed. If everything is fixed, this collection could be a 90% score for me but with everything still messed up, I have to lower it. Even with the existing problems, this collection is really a must buy for any serious MK fan!

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is a worthy tribute to the iconic franchise, blending games, archival footage, and history into a cohesive interactive documentary. However, it feels incomplete — some key titles and features are missing, and the historical coverage ends too soon.
