Obviously, if you already own MK11 in some form, going for this Ultimate version is a bit redundant. I would suggest getting everything you wanted piecemeal through your respective online store, but if you haven’t picked up this game yet or have just got yourself a shiny new system and are looking for a great looking, great playing fighting game, you just found it here. I highly suggest this title to any fighting game fan.

Having already established itself as one of the best fighting games of the previous generation, in its upgraded form Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate on Xbox looks set to wear that crown into the new generation of consoles. The combat is some of the best in the genre, and you can make your favourite character – from the generous offering of 37 – completely your own with the amount of customisation options.

Mortal Kombat 11 is a success in every way. NetherRealm takes risks and it pays off. Its gargantuan content, its racy gameplay daring to profoundly change certain historical mechanics, its technical mastery and its sparkling achievement make this Mortal Kombat an example to follow.

Constant improvements make this a solid, content-packed, spectacular game. If you bought previous DLCs along the months, you might not see a huge improvement, but if this is your first MK 11 experience, get ready for a blast. A great way to start fighting in the new generation of consoles.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is the best way to get into the game if you don't already own it, with amazing graphics, performance and next to no loading time. It lands all of its punches perfectly.

MK 11 female character looksOne of the worst main series MK games, maybe even worse than MK4.MK4 at least had interesting new characters. MK 11 female character looks nothing like they used to look. They look simply awful. Their costumes are so different (in extremely bad way) that you can hardly understand what character it's supposed to be. They are basically completely new characters now who have nothing in common with female characters from MK9 and even MK10, only similarity is their name, that's it. Extremely disappointing, pointless game. Only character who truly looks great is Noob Saibot. Scorpion was okay at best. Everyone else was just awful. One of the main things in fighting games in general are character looks/costumes. That's the first things that makes you choose a character. If characters looks awful, then you obviously wont choose them, because who wants to play with awful looking character. Full Review »

The reason i didn't give 10 points was that base game is a little bit empty in terms of cosmetics and there is also another part of story locked in base game ?? But even if you have mortal Kombat X i highly recommend getting this one too (wait for discount tho) Full Review »

I am only evaluating the campaign +First of all, you can say that I'm not at home in this genre and that I'm rather bad in terms of gameplay. I am only evaluating the campaign + DLC on the medium level of difficulty. It took me about 8 hours for all the chapters.

    story

I'm a pretty big fan of the Netherrealm campaigns. I played Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2 and had a lot of fun with the campaign, Injustice 2 in particular was great. For me, Mortal Kombat 11 is the best so far. The cinematic representation is terrific, you are basically watching a film. The cut scenes just look really cool.

I'm not very knowledgeable about Mortal Kombat Lore, but the division of chapters makes it easy to follow what is happening, even if there are extremely many characters that I could hardly assign (some faces I knew from the previous one, but nothing more ).

For me the story was very exciting, not surprising, but still great to watch. Partly it reminded me of Avengers. All characters are interesting and well chosen and Netherrealm presents a well-rounded package here.

I always wanted to keep playing and would have loved to have been able to play for a few more hours.

    Graphics / glitches / performance

The game looks great. It starts with the characters and ends with the individual locations. Partly an effect fireworks that seem to have been produced very elaborately.

But there are also negative features, e.g. the dynamic transitions from the cut scene to the actual "fight" were unclean, here I had very brief stutters (could have something to do with the different FPS? I don't know). But what bothered me a bit was that I kept having sound dropouts or the sound had become desynchronized. I played in Series X and these sound failures kept getting me out of it.

Fortunately, overall this was not always the case.

The depicted brutality is typical of a franchise and was sometimes really violent.

    Gameplay

As I said, I am not a connoisseur of the genre and can therefore not judge at all how the flogger compares. But I liked it a lot and I took a little bit with me from the predecessor or Injustice 2. Fatalities and everything else are sometimes disgustingly brutal, but that's the hallmark of it all.

I had hardly any difficulties on "Medium" and only needed 3 attempts at the final boss.

But it is incredibly motivating to create combo chains, it makes a lot of fun and I could imagine going further into it.

    Conclusion

Basically I hardly had anything to complain about and had a lot of fun for 8 hours. Literally great cinema! For me 9/10 fatalities. But there is no applause! To be honest, I could also envision a Triple AAA "Open World" fighting game.
